What a busy summer drama watchers will have! Love Lost In Times (醉玲珑) is based on the novel written by Shi Shi Ye, it was filmed fast and then get released fast too. Once again, Miss Liu Shi Shi surrounds herself with a harem of princes. Will she finally get a happy ending in here?
New Stills:
Synopsis Written by Kappy (I only skimmed some chapters of the novel): When I say a rehash of Bu Bu Jing Xin, I’m serious! After being betrayed by her modern boyfriend, our heart-broken heroine (Liu Shi Shi) time-travels to the past by accidentally activating the power behind some magical stones. She enters the body of a dying sorceress in a river. The interesting tidbit here that I wish they would keep is the short exchange of the two souls. We almost never deal with what happens to the soul of the original body; where did it go? Did it die? The sorceress has a heart condition and was gonna die anyway. But I guess they won’t since time-traveling is a no-no these days. Afterwards, she runs into some thieves and is saved by two men. One of the men is 4th Prince, played by William Chan. Our male lead is known as the scheming God of War, cold and quiet. The other guy is 11th Prince and our heroine uses her medical skills to dress 4th Prince’s injuries. Turns out the sorceress belongs to a secret organization tasked with protecting the royal family. Her using dark magic is a source of conflict down the line, with officials against the idea of a King marrying a woman with a precarious, not-so-clean nature/practice. The second male lead is 7th Prince played by Joe Xu Hai Qiao (Hua Qian Gu).

LSS is so busy this year. Three dramas and one movie are going to be release soon. I hope all of them are going to be successful.

I don’t like the way they did Liu Shi Shi’s hair in this drama. I will still watch it for LSS though. Did William Chan get a nose job done before? Every time I look at him I always feel that way.

cold n quiet.. that would suit William Chan. I’m actually a sucker for this time of story plotline- at least the beginning parts. With exception of the hair (its not my fav but it not unbearable either) the trailer is gd n makes me wanna watch

The trailer is suitably epic and gorgeous. The styling is still off but the grandness of it all makes me forget everything and I’m pumped to catch this drama! Will this involve amnesia? That ending scene right there…

Because of how pretty both the leads are… I didn’t even notice the hairstyle. I feel like this would be another hit. The trailer is trending right now on weibo and the drama official account has over half a million followers before the show even started.

Have to admit that I wasn’t expecting the trailer to be this good. The colors are really solid and earthy and look realistic enough for that time period. My heart skipped a beat when Shi Shi turned around and was almost kissing William like I think it’s the first time I’ve seen an OTP at an angle like that lol. I think I’m for sure watching now!

AHHHHH SO GOOD!? The chemistry between William and LSS wasnt really obvious in the beginning of the trailer, felt a bit awkward. But at the end it got better, sparks flying everywhere!
LSS always does her crying scenes so well, the ending almost made me cry sobs! But at the beginning somehow her acting felt rather awkward to me but as it progresses it got better!
William is just so handsome, and its the Fo Ye voice actor again!!! Yay!
The genre of this drama is quite interesting, it feels rather new to me, while there is this witchcraft magic and those CGI, it doesn’t seem out of place and fits the feel of this drama well! It’s sure gonna be a battle of ratings between this drama and ZLY’s hahaha!

The hair styles of the both leads doesn’t matter to me at all. Btw it not so bad. The only thing that matters to me is the plot and the acting which by this awesome trailer, I am totally in love with everything about it. Love both the leads. Totally cannot wait to watch it. I’m definitely gonna give it a go. OMG, when LSS look at William Chen so close at that angle like they’re about to kiss, make my heart beat 2 times faster.😍😍 💖 💓💞

For the longest time I thought this drama was going to be released in June. I can’t wait another 2 months… especially after seeing the trailer. I really hope LSS has other project for us to watch later this year

Oh my. The pictures didn’t look as great but the trailer is really hyping me up for it. I can’t wait two months for this. 😭 The quality of the cinematography has really gone up since NiF. The ending scene of the drama killed me though. </3

I really don’t get what’s with the time travel element of the story. They can’t even use it! Well except to separate the characters later on, but since the sorceress is already dying of a heart condition, so I really don’t see what’s the point when they already have conflict. Sometimes I wish that they will just stop with randomly adding a time-travel element if it can’t be used…

I wasn’t too interested from the pictures as I found the costumes, headpieces and hair very unattractive but that was a great trailer and has definitely piqued my interest.

Oy, what’s with the weird choice of fabrics? The costumes in the stills range from “okay, it’s fantasy” to “gaaah, my eyes” – but they all look as if someone had a serious shopping spree at a designer upholstery and home decor store…
The trailer is definitely inspired by Tribes and Empires (Scene with the feather blurring out the faces – shot of the sweeping feather train – people falling to their knees while the guitar riffs of the soundtrack kick in – CG of LSS conjuring luminous butterflies = Janice doing defense magic etc.) – which is a good thing in my book since I love epic stories.
So yes, the stills are doing nothing for me, but the trailer has captured my interest.
