Chinese stars at 70th Annual Cannes Film Festival 2017

Cannes Film Festival 2017 is currently taking place in France, from May 17th to May 28th, a week-long event to celebrate and preview films of all genre from various parts of the world. From China this year, we have two films in the mix, under different categories. I rarely do watch movies so maybe one of our readers could shed some lights on these two undiscovered gems. One is director Li Rui Jun’s Walking Past the Future and the other being a short film A Gentle Night directed by Qiu Yang.

Is Michelle Yeoh of Chinese nationality? As far as I remember, she’s Malaysian but ethnic Chinese. I’m just curious since Koalasplayground also said that she one of the top actresses in China…

Koalsplayground gets half their stuff about Chinese entertainment wrong/late because the writer doesn’t seem that invested but I agree she’s very famous from old HK martial arts movies.

Yes. I agree with you about Koalasplayground. Also they write about 90% of Korean entertainment news – the rest goes to Chinese, Japanese & …

Jin Bo Ran knows how to pose for great pictures here. Yang Yang looks very handsome. Fan Bing Bing often wears too light foundation for her face.

Yang Yang is such a babe! I like Li Yu Chun’s tiger embroidery dress and Fan Bing Bing looks so elegant in her light blue dress. I didn’t know she cut her hair so I was a little taken a back when I saw the pictures. She looks great but I love her with long hair though. I wish she would have wore more dresses and walk the red carpet alone. She always own the red carpet so it’s a little sad that she only wore like one noticeable dress for the event.

I think the “best dress” of the event goes to Indian actress Aishwarya, I think that’s how you spelled her name. Her Cinderella dress is absolutely beautiful! She graced it like no one else. Thai/British actress Chompoo looks great too. I love all her dresses, except for that one black one lol. And she’s pregnant with twins too, so I love how she’s embracing it with her dresses by showing off her baby pump. She just glow so beautiful.

Aishwarya is stunning with the little girl! The Thai Actress you brought up looks damn regal in the white, fluffy dress. Wow. A beauty! *__*

I didn’t like Li Yu Chun’s first outfit. It look so weird. The boots were even wierder (cringed). Her dress by Gucci was magnificent though. FBB looks elegant as usual. I like the top part of Athena’s dress. Beautiful. YY is just simply handsome. I hope that ZLY will get invited to this type of event.

What do you think?
