Originally called The Majesty of Wolf, the new costume series is now known as The Wolf (Lang Dian Xia 狼殿下), starring OTP in Li Qin and Darren Wang Da Lu. It is the second installment of the Wang series franchise after Prince of Lan Ling. The booting ceremony was held yesterday’s morning with Li Qin in attendance. She’s a busy drama queen (not the bad kind! XD) this year, series after series. Quite a few Taiwanese actors are partaking in here as well, which makes sense given that Ariel Lin was in the first installment.
Booting Ceremony 4/8:
Li Qin and Xiao Zhan. All he’s so tall now. He was in Star Academy and Shuttle Love Millennium.
Synopsis written by Kap: The story happens at the end of the Tang Dynasty, when Zhu Wen usurps the throne and establishes the Later Liang Dynasty, and he’s known as Emperor Taizu. Our female lead is daughter of an official and as a child, she befriends a young boy who lives in the mountain. One day when he saves a wolf, he accidentally falls over the cliff and is rescued by Zhu Wen. The authoritative figure adopts him as a godson and gives him the title Bo Wang. 10 years later, he saves the female lead per chance and finds her courage and intelligence resonant, and she likes that while he’s in a position of power, he still has humility and kindness. She encourages him to fight for justice and he begins that journey by helping the people, stopping throne fights, etc. Even when they have conflicts, they will face those frankly. As they overcome obstacles and fight for justice, feelings deepen and they are able to reap their own happiness by each other’s side.
Interesting, the girl with the red beanie on is Taiwanese actress Guo Shu Yao. I remember her in Aim High. Another person is actor Lin You Wei, who wasn’t there at the ceremony.
Directed by Meng Fan (The Stalker), The Wolf estimates about 150 days of filming.

ohh i quite like the title of the series Lang Dian Xia 狼殿下.
thanks for ur synopsis. the part “As they overcome obstacles and fight for justice, feelings deepen and they are able to reap their own happiness by each other’s side.” i thk we do come across that very often in very many dramas. I’m all for falling in love gradually as they help each other out.

I’m excited for more Li Qin. I love her so I usually anticipate her show, esp since here she’s lead in a period drama that sounds vaguely interesting. I know she was also lead in that other under-the-radar period drama where her love interest/fiancé was a smart dude turned idiot that she didn’t like at first only for him to turn back into a smart guy who didn’t like her etc. but wasn’t interested in that, so for all purposes this’ll be her first lead period production. She has a great smile and is a pretty decent and versatile actress; we’ll see more about her actin range and versatility in Princess Agents and Tribes since those are different roles than her usual spunky-hard-working-too-kind-heroine role (which somehow she always acts out with aplomb).
