Paris is Not in a Good Mood with Zhang Han and Han Qing Zi

Paris is Not in a Good Mood (如果巴黎不快乐) is an upcoming modern drama adapted from the novel written by Bai Jin Hu, telling a deep love story between two individuals. He’s a detailed, rich, every girl’s dream man, just waiting for that fated person to appear. While she was a lawyer who committed crime on behalf of her boyfriend and was sent to prison. The day she’s released, she confronts her boyfriend….now entering marriage with a different girl. Bastard. She starts out lowly in an office position but her ambition for serving people propels her right back as she fights for her lawyer’s license once again. It does sound like Korean drama Secret Love with Hwang Jung Eum with the female lead going to jail.

Oh Zhang Han. You just have to keep trying. If the Korean ban affects any actor, it’s Zhang Han the most, for his four projects feature Korean actresses as his leading ladies. I can’t even feel bad for the guy cause he knowingly promotes and supports the collaborations. Not that they are bad, but you have to think about his fellow Chinese actresses being placed in second lead roles again and again.

Stills:

There’s one caveat when I saw the pictures…. Zhang Han is transforming all his ladies to look like him! What’s with the short bob? Notice how his real girlfriend (Gulnazar) cut her hair short a few months ago too. Lol.

Tskkk tskk. Looks like there are two male leads.

Seriously, I was frustrated with Zhang Han for a long while. Its not like he has no say since hes going the producer route too, the ban happened and now he picked a Chinese leading lady.

I’m actually really liking the trailer. I can feel the angst between the leads already, but it almost also seems like a very quiet accepting love…idk how to explain. Would watch anyways cuz it’s Kan Qing Zi and she’s finally getting lead roles. Also Zhang Han looks like he’s doing a marginally better job of emoting here.

Paris is idealized and romanticized in the eyes of E. Asians. This must be the third most recent c-drama filmed there. Maybe the next c-drama filmed there will revolve around recent incident of Chinese man getting shot by police- ha!

Goodness. Until you said so, I wasn’t aware of the Chinese man getting shot by a policeman incident. I had heard of a northern Paris resident who was the victim of a violent robbery and then died. Later, a huge ethnic Chinese protest ensued last September. There had been a lot of robberies in the aforementioned ethnic Chinese neighborhood to the point where shops had trouble getting insurance. Asian tourist buses had been targeted too. The government had been saying that they would heighten the security. It’s sad now Paris C residents have to worry about the police too.

I was starting to get annoyed by these collabs as an appeal to Korean market or whatever the hell he was trying to achieve. As someone who watches both K and C-dramas, these “collabs” are neither as enjoyable as K or C dramas itself because the dubbing over dont match with the Koreans’ movements as they speak in their own language anyway. (And I already hate dubbing in Cdramas to begin with)

Zhang Han was trying wayyy too hard with that route and nope can’t sympathize with him.

Since his breakup with Zheng Shuang, his career has not grown as rapidly as her. And I dont think Chinese are warming to him… I am not Zheng Shuang’s fan but I really dont feel bad for Zhang Han too.

oh so thats d reason why theres nothing much of Zhang Han. While i like both K and C actress- i dont particularly enjoy collabs. Somtyms i can still put up with the dubbing- depends who does the dubbing and if it suits the actor.
This one the trailer is quite nice. i thk girls who rocked shot hair the most was Wang Zi Wen. i did love to see more of her.

Good point. ZS is in a lot of projects. ZH is also going the producer route, so he’s selective. His selections are boring though lol

yes, I’ve started to really dislike Zhang Han for this! Didn’t realize until it was pointed out. I can’t really sit through the unmatched dubbing! It was such agony when such collabs were the only ones being subbed

I like him as a person otherwise though, because he has never said anything bad about Zheng Shuang, only good things after their breakup.

But overall, don’t mind not seeing him. His looks are ok, acting is ok…nothing stands out, he is replaceable

Zhang Han’s jaw kinda looks like Guo Jingming… must be the constant PS. So he’s the culprit for all these awful Chines-Korean co-productions huh? I don’t get his popularity and hope his career goes to mediocrity after people are over his BS.
