I can’t believe this is getting a sequel. And yet you have better shows languishing. Life is indeed unfair
FSF has totally fallen off my list of biases too. His acting in IF and Starry Night has been totally tragic and killed whatever i felt for him

Same how I feel about FSF recently. I gotta blame all his leading actress. Although they are pretty, for example, Victoria Song is very pretty but they were all so annoying. The one in Starry Night is most annoying. He’s starting to act boring and weak and not smart and witty anymore.
I only liked him as eight prince with Yang Mi and as Lanling wang with Ariel Lin. That was about it…if I count when he was a newbie and did this one drama with Myolie Wu that one was good too.

Omg yes… FSF doesn’t have luck with his female leads! As much as I love Victoria due to fx, her acting honestly, it’s bad and cringy. She needs to stop taking up female lead roles and maybe start bottom and with a totally different type of character.

Right I love FSF as that general in 美人心计 too!!! I remembered his character quite clearly when I was watching the drama few years back, a joy to watch! But he hasn’t been choosing great dramas these few years.

They didn’t learn from that Journey of Flower spin-off/sequel in a modern setting.

As if Ice Fantasy wasn’t poor enough, let’s go for a spin-off/sequel! 😀

Journey of Flower 2 failed because Zhao Li Ying AND Wallace Huo didn’t play it. How can you do a sequel without the original leading couple.

      • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Not really, even if they do play it, the storyline doesn’t even need to prolong any further. It just get more and more none sense. Liu Shi Shi and Nicky Wu continued their popular BBJX but the sequel was very bad, their storyline was at least a bit better than JOF2 too but still laughable when watching it.

Eh this seems iffy but I’ll watch it for Ma Tianyu. Does he have any new or upcoming works?

Liang Sheng, Can We Not Be Sad is coming out this year i think

  4. 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Omg the trailer made me cringed so badly… Why did the cast decide to accept the sequel offer even after looking at the script? Didn’t they notice how horrible Ice Fantasy was and know better with the sequel.

And agree about FSF… He was never my bias but I liked him in Lan Ling Wang with Ariel! It was such an enjoyable drama and he was so likeable in it. But after that? His choice of scripts is really bad…
MTY too.. Liked him in 怪侠一枝梅, but his acting has been somewhat average these few years.

Don’t understand why FSF is selecting idol dramas as he approaches middle age.. He needs a new agent.

    • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Yup totally. Frankly it’s a bit embarrassing to watch him in these idol dramas marketed towards young teens. =/

No worry Debbie! Lol. I go down memory lane once in a while too and appreciate the rusty, old-fashioned coloring back then from time to time. =)

Was Ice Fantasy that bad? I have been planning to see it, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Should I just skip it?

    • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Strictly my personal opinion, but avoid like the plague. The world building/plot is utterly nonsensicalp. It failed to get you engaged with the characters. The worse part is that it failed to entertain – not even in the “so bad, it’s good” way. Boring and dragged on and on and on.

    • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

While most people here criticize Ice Fantasy, I find it watchable. This was the only drama that got me hooked on the TV screen during my stay in China when it was airing. My only complain is the bad CG, some bad make-up and the obvious FSF body double in the 2nd half of the show.

Other than the above, this drama is actually better than the novel, in my point of view. The novel is rather confusing with so many characters, a little slow, repetitive and boring, but the drama is more interesting be it the characters or how the story line goes.

I would recommend that you give it a try. The first half of the drama is definitely better than the second half, that’s how I got addicted and have to carry on even though the second half is draggy. Well, I could be one of the odd ones here but I am really looking forward to this sequel!

If you don’t like it, just don’t watch it! 🙂 I loved Ice Fantasy and I love the trailer!

Well, I agree that Ice Fantasy was hot mess and puzzled why it even have season 2.But we can’t hide the fact that It has it fair shares of fans and to get $$$ LOL

Still,I don’t see a reason my Starry Night is in FSF *bad* dramas list.I think that is the best thing he has ever done second to Lan Ling Wang.(Minus his movies) I meant he acting was awesome in it!Of cos,it would have been better if we can change his leading lady.

Palace was another hot mess(in fact messier than IF in my opinion) which I could NEVER finish it.Wasn’t it horrible in all ways?Just saying.?

    • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

I really don’t think Palace was anywhere near bad although it was…Ahem…Yu zheng plagiarizing. Everyone however fires up in there really well, even the king and queens and many side characters were well liked. It really did so well on introducing new acting leads compare to its competitor BBJX where only important characters are memorable.
Feng Shao Feng was really discovered more from there than anywhere else he previously starred in. Tong Li Ya is still very up to date from there too, unforgettable. Yang Mi was already too popular from CP3 but got even more praised, at the same time she also started a trend in new acting style, indeed it inspired many people during that time.

      • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Oh well,Maybe I am BBJX hardcore fan,Anything that “copy” it doesn’t give me good impression at all.(Kversion included although I love all casts individually) Despite the fact that FSF is my bias,I never finished it too.

Palace allows everyone to discover him, more like eureka moment. The rest is continuation of it,the success of career is determined by actors themselves.I often want FSF to do movies only instead of coming out with this IF nonsense. But he is trying out all sorts of projects,so I guess it is fine. But his acting in The Starry Night IMO is so painfully good for me.Because the actress really can’t act at all(such a waste), he has to carry the whole drama and make audience feel every emotion without even crying. Somehow he succeeded it.Oh well,I am just so obsessed with Wu Julan.

        • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Me too. Athough this is my first drama with FSF (and my 2nd Cdrama) , I am in love with Wu Julan’s character. The female lead’s acting is a bit awkward, but I’ve gotten used to it. TSNTSS is one of the dramas that I’m totally vibing on. It’s so good. Just really hesitant to see the ending (T_T)

        • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

@Mini, very much agree with you on FSF. I like his courage in trying out many different types of characters, ignoring comments and complaints about his age not suitable for idol dramas anymore. I don’t expect a merman of more than a thousand years to look like a young flower boy! It’s the acting that matters. As Wu Julan, FSF portrays the character really well, he doesn’t shed a tear throughout the drama, but by just looking at his eyes, I could already feel WJL’s sadness, loneliness and pain in him. As a fan of WJL in the novel, FSF is just like the character popped up from the book.

Kinda unrelated but Ma Tian Yu is apparently leading in Tangren’s new Three Kingdoms drama (with Elvis Han and Wan Qian). Hope it’s true and that it’ll be a more meaty role than this XP

    • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

Just waiting for the lock down confirmation before I post. heh. Elvis is confirmed.

      • 28 thoughts on “Ice Fantasy Destiny reunites past love and super powers

omgad! I hope its true. I want to see Ray in more ancient dramas <333

hoping that ,the sequel would not bad,but the changing of the cast really take a big risk ,just see what happen to the sequel of ‘The journey of the flower’,totally bad sequel, haha.

I was kind of hoping for a sequel, only because they ended Ice Fantasy on open ending and I wanted to see more of Ka Suo and Li Luo post her resurrection. It’s unfair that Lan Shang was in her body the whole time so we were deprived of her loving interactions with Ka Suo as herself. But they completely butchered the sequel by having Ka Suo reincarnated as a play boyish and jokester kind of guy, on top of that, Li Luo has a new face which took some time getting used to (I never did by the end). Aside from the ridiculous, over-arching plot, the recycled story of Shi’s sacrifice, I really failed to connect with new female lead’s Li Luo. She was so stiff and wooden, I wasn’t convinced of her version of Li Luo, which is a big fail in itself. I’d like to pretend this sequel never existed and hoped one day they’d do justice for the original Ice Fantasy by having the original casts, in the original setting.
