Happy Friday drifters!! This is gonna be one heck of a pretty post. I was so shocked to see OTP in Princess Agents – Zhao Li Ying and Lin Geng Xin in a photoshoot together! Like…she never gets this kind of promo before (that I can remember, I’m old.) And it’s cute! GAHHH! Amazing. The rest of the shoots are equally gorgeous! Hard to pick a favorite!

Jing Tian is so pretty, but she seems to be getting a lot of hate lol
I think it’s because Jing Tian is said to be well connected in the industry, like I read online she the girlfriend of “X of the Wanda Group” and the granddaughter (!!) of someone in the CCP, so that’s why she’s getting all these opportunities out of nowhere. I mean she got second billing to Matt Damo in The Great Wall as a newbie and then starring in Kong: Skull Island & Pacific Rim II? it’s all very fishy. That being said I haven’t watched “Glory of Tang Dynasty” to judge her acting yet but look wise she’s just your typical v-shaped face (and a bit plastic-y looking) actress n the industry.
I actually touched a little on this subject in another thread. Jing Tian’s background is one of the biggest mysteries in Chinese showbiz. There are several theories brought forward, including the ones you mentioned. However, the widely acknowledged one is that she’s the “girlfriend” of someone from a very powerful political family in China (the Ye family). It’s all very interesting, but I don’t know enough ’cause I’m not Chinese. Recently, rumours are popping up about a potential breakup. Take it all with a grain of salt though, there’s no actual evidence to back up any of these conjectures. In any case, her backer is trying real hard to support her, but him being so outright with the support kind of backfired. That’s why she’s not well liked by the average viewer.
But I think the only procedure she’s done (if any) is the double eyelid surgery. She looks exactly the same as she did in acting school.
I thought she just got really lucky with these opportunities. lol
She confirmed in a recent interview that she’s single.

Ah, I see. I remembered someone commenting that she did mostly movies. I watched her television dramas and she’s not bad.
Poor girl. I wonder why people assume she has a backer. Her acting isn’t bad-she doesn’t seem to be any worse than most popular young actresses; she’s pretty and she appears to be a hard worker. Unless there is evidence these sorts of rumours always feel so misogynistic to me. There are many male actors who cannot act worth a damn getting tons of work and no one accuses them of dating X or being the son of Y.
Maybe she just has a good US agent? I just watched some interviews and her English is quite good which I’m sure helps with casting her over some other Chinese actresses. All those films were produced by Legendary Entertainment and with how unimaginative and racist Hollywood can be as soon as they have one ‘exotic’ actor/actresss of a particular ethnicity on their radar they will be offered every role calling for that ethnicity.
I saw her on YouTube and I was very impressed with her English. She has a future in Hollywood making it bigger than LBB or FBB.
JT started off her acting career with a role in Vicki Zhao and Liu Ye’s drama. They are huge names in TV and film. Right after that, money was poured into Warring States which she starred in, second billed. It was rumoured that her costars were offered several times their original pay to join the cast. At that time, she had neither popularity nor acting skills. This was followed by a ton of film credits, and now she’s also getting heavy roles in Hollywood productions. To quote @pinkblossom, it’s “fishy”.
It’s difficult for 85-er actresses to get film offers. Out of the more prominent names, only Liu Yifei and Ni Ni’s had any luck. Then again, LYF’s films are arguably of poorer “quality”, whereas Ni Ni stands on the shoulders of giants as she was Zhang Yimou’s female lead. They’ve also struggled to break into Hollywood. JT’s sudden leap in profile is just puzzling in comparison. She’s never even had a breakout role till The Glory of the Tang Dynasty.
And to be fair, male actors aren’t completely free from such accusations either. But since conjectures are mere conjectures, I won’t bring them up.
Wow I didn’t even know she has such bad rumors. But she was dead gorgeous and beautiful when she was young, she’s not that old yet but her younger self is better, just one picture of her in ancient clothes and made you stare at pretty loooong.
So I wouldn’t believe she need a powerful boyfriend to back her up because of her good looks and skills (yeah she got some dumb movies but I wouldn’t blame her acting because the storylines and characters were both dumb, the acting was itself another thing and I see she got the skill). I would probably believe the rumors if she’s ugly or something.
If the truth is she still need to rely on such backups then we can all really assume that all actresses (whether pretty or not) also has rich boyfriends too because how else can they get good roles in movies? Even good looks and skills do not help, what else?
I wouldn’t say she’s a newbie…. she graduated Beijing Film Academy and has been acting in a lot of films since 2008 or so…. wouldn’t say she’s amazing but she’s not a terrible actress. Always thought she focused more on the big screen than the little one.
Rumors and hearsay spreads like a virus. Poor Jing Tian is a probably more a victim of all these whispering campaigns. She’s hard-working and better than some of the fresh meat getting major roles and adulation just for being gorgeous.
I love the zly and lgx photo. What a cute couple. Im not her fan but the stills from princess agent looks stunning and these fashion spread photo makes me want to watch the couple on screen. The other photos looks pretty as well of the other celebs! Thanks you.
Seems I”m in the minority but i’m disappointed in the Li Ying and LGX pictures. I was expecting better for a bridal photoshoot than two dresses that we don;t even get to see properly, shot in the back lot ofthe studio with that same centre-part straight hair!
It was nice to have a break from all the boring backgrounds in every single other photoshoot in the Li Bing Bing and Baron Chen pictures. Li Bing Bing’s pictures are absolutely stunning.

Aw well even if the pictures are a bit boring she looks lovely and they have cute chemistry…except that awkward leg over his shoulder pose. Not sure what the photographer was thinking with that one!

I have been impatient for some ZLY photo shoots and am not disappointed. While the photos are not your typical white bridal gowns photoshoot, it was really nicely taken. ZLY and LGX have good chemistry on the photos. My least favourite one would be Janice Wu’s but it is nothing personal as I do like her. It is just that the photos are not my cup of tea. Mark Zhao looks handsome and I like Shawn Dou as well. Thank you Kappy for this updates.

Despite what the general populace thinks of Jing Tian (evident from the comments on like all her vids on youtube, and that’s not even taking into account the vitrol on weibo, mgtv.com, and various other Chinese platforms), I actually REALLY like Jing Tian. Acting wise I don’t think she’s terrible (could be MUCH worse) and while she does get a lot of opportunities, it’s no more than the other average-skilled-popular actresses.
Anyways, onto the shoots.
Li Bing Bing is absolutely flawless and gorgeous beyond gorgeous. FBB’s always touted as most beautiful, but on personal-taste on aesthetics, I much prefer LBB. I think she’s just gorgeous from all angles.
Jing Tian’s is great too. I also think she’s naturally very very beautiful, but here hers stands out to me mainly because I love the outfits and clothes she’s showing in this photoshoot. They really fit her well and I just personally love the style. You know how some shoots look aesthetics and artsy and fashion-avant-garde-ish and you like looking at them but the clothes themselves are things you would never consider wearing (out of personal style or just from being really out-there)? Jing Tian’s shoot here actually uses clothes and outfits I would totally love even on their own, so kudos to that.
Mark’s looking clean and handsome, but also a little typical. But it’s nice to enjoy the pretty.
Janice’s, while not my favorite in terms of style, is definitely the coolest and the most interesting. Some of the outfits are REALLY cool and others, while not as cool, make up for it by using really interesting photo editing and concepts.
but ZLY and LGX!!! Ok I can totally see the chemistry in the photos. They look really comfortable with each other. And it’s been a really long time since I thought LGX was hot (like, since BBJX where he was sizzling…and then after his lol-awkward reality persona ruined his hotness for me), but he’s looking REALLY good here. Me likey.
I wasn’t really behind the OTP for Princess Agents mostly because I couldn’t see it working out well (in terms of chemistry and just OTP-shipping-quality) and also cuz I loved Shawn too much. But after this photoshoot, I’m like, 100% behind this OTP (at least until we see more).

I’m with you, Juli. I just like Jing Tian a lot regardless of everything the news/netizens say about her. She just feels like a down-to-earth person in her interviews and such.
The new photoshoot gave me hope on Lin Geng Xin’s chemistry with Li Ying too, as you know how much I adore Shawn. I really want to see them two in a hot, sizzling shoot!
What a pic Liying had! Damn….it was plain for me. l was hoping for this beautiful, dreamy or romantic photoshoot but instead it was kinda “shot in a neighborhood area, near back alley”. Even her hairstyle is so plain. Such a waste of two beautiful people.

I’m a huge fan of Jing Tian after seeing her in Legend of Banshu (which I highly rec!). Like her acting isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be. Who cares if she has backers! At least we don’t see her all over the place and she does seem to choose her projects with a vision. Based on the interviews that I’ve seen, she’s a down-to-earth kind of girl and a hard-worker. For the Great Wall project she practiced and learned martial arts for like a year.
I would watch Glory of the Tang Dynasty but I don’t feel like watching a palace drama rn. zz
