Liu Shi Shi and Wang Qian Yuan’s The Battle At Dawn To Air
Lol. Did you notice? Looks like the ladies of Chinese Paladin are lining up their projects to come out one after another (very considerate!) We have Tang Yan’s Princess Wei Young, then Yang Mi’s Eternal Love, and now Liu Shi Shi‘s republican drama, The Battle At Dawn (黎明决战) with veteran actor Wang Qian Yuan as her male lead. Scary stuff!

Wait? Is LSS’s love interest going to be Wang Qian Yuan? I’m going to be totally honest and shallow here and I’m sure he is a respected, talented veteran actor but the thought of him romancing LSS makes me want to barf. Rather they left any romance out altogether to be honest.
Sick of these ugly old men in lead roles romancing pretty young actresses. It’s never the other way round with older, plain women romancing hot young actors and god forbid these old men ever romance women in the same age group as them!

I hope Shi Shi does well! This is totally her chance to final break the mold she’s set for herself and hopefully step beyond her recent acting plateau of similar Mary-Sue roles. Time to sink or swim for her.

I didn’t realize the ladies were all from Chinese Paladin. The time!
Wow…. this is definitely not your eye candy drama. The question is….will Shi Shi sink or rise with all veteran actors around her? Lol.

I totally hope you were being sarcastic but just in case you’re serious, here are the older woman-young man pairings:
Life Revelation starring Hu Ge and Yan Ni
Wo He Wo De Chuan Qi Nai Nai starring Luo Jin and Ning Jing
Xiao Zhang Fu (Little Husband) starring Yang Le and Yu Fei Hong
Ju Chang starring Zhai Tian Lin and Chen Shu
As for “old men romancing women in their own age group”…I think if you stay away from the mainstream idol dramas then you would find plenty.

He may be old (44), but wouldn’t call him ugly though.
