Reunion! Between the leads, Zhu Yi Long and Viann Zhang, from last year’s Border Town Prodigal. The latest costume series began filming on January 2nd with other actors such as Peter Ho, Li Xin Ai, Zhu Zi Xiao, and Yu Xiao Tong. From my drama knowledge, the title Hua Xie Hua Fei Hua Man Tian (花谢花飞花满天) or As Blooms/Flowers Fade and Fly Across the Sky is based on a long poem from the classic novel The Story of the Stone aka Dream of the Red Chamber. It has been remade into a song and you can listen and read the translation at the end. However, there’s also a novel with the same name which I’m positive it’s adapted from. According to the synopsis, bandit’s son (Peter) acquires an injury as a child and loses his memory. He then gets adopted by by another pair of kind parents. Years later, he takes it upon himself to search for their missing daughter (Viann Zhang) who was kidnapped by his very own biological father. After rescuing her, he regains his memory and reunites with his real father. They then work together to clear his father’s reputation against a big bad boss.

Wow, one of the best and my top favorite music tone, I still don’t understsand if they are going to keep the original melody or stick the lyrics to a new melody? I really love that old classical one, it is unbeatable, and will surely help make things not too modern since they’re trying to do an ancient drama.

Sigh… I was hoping for another Zhu Yi Long and Viann Zhang pairing again…. So sad!!! I really like him, but he never gets good roles…. T_T

T.T I want Zhu Yi Long as lead too! I have to say, I don’t mind Peter, necessarily, but he’s far from one of my favs, so between ZYL and Peter, I’d pick ZYL anyday. Peter has a specific physical, outward-visual feel that only really works in certain dramas, and he’s DEFINITELY NOT good enough an actor to compensate for that through character expression. Like he’s not a BAD actor, necessarily, but he’s very stagnant and formulaic. Certain expressions, certain acting style, he basically plays the same person in every role. I mean, it works sometimes and not others. So yeah, ZYL, while not quite polished yet, is very versatile and varied in his expression, and despite always being relegated to supporting roles (except that ONE time, one time important, I guess), he always portrays his character with flair and genuine in-character vibes.

I thought it’s weird if peter ho is not lead in this drama. He’s very popular in china and international . His last drama with victoria also get high rating. Although I’m not his fan but I only recognize peter ho in this drama.

Peter ho was never famous famous, he’s only there and very lucky now to be able to still play leads. He’s 41 and decades older than the rest. He’s like Hawick now, just waiting until given father roles. Lol.

Yi Long’s best hairstyle imo was in Qing Ding San Sheng. Too bad this guy loves his fringe in real life, haha.
Yes to Viann! I thought they had good chemistry in Border so eh why not another round.
I don’t know about Peter. His acting has never been impressive.

I think he loved both of em but probably he loved fang ling more. if you notice in the whole series hong xue can smile when he’s with fang ling & tell everything to her but when he’s with cui nong, there’s only sadness probably cos he saw himself in cui nong, they both have same background and maybe the love between cui nong & hong xue are only temporary cos during that time hong xue & fang ling are fighting bcos of the misunderstanding. i mean he tried hard to get fang ling back, maybe cos of guilty. but i still didn’t expect the ending to be sooooooooooooooooo SAD. *sigh

I’m still heartbroken from border town prodigal series cos yi long & viann didn’t get to be together at the end and now they are reunited but not together? omg!! the script writer really knows how to break our heart lol
