First Posters: Raymond Lam’s Rule The World, Fu Xin Bo’s Swords of Legends 2

First posters are out for two period dramas that started filming last winter, which seemed like a long time ago. Lol.

One is the historical drama Rule The World and the other is based on video game, Gu Jian Qi Tan 2 or Legend of the Ancient Sword 2.

First up is Rule the World, drama adaptation of Li Xin’s novel, Unmatched In This World (独步天下). Playing the lead couple is Hong Kong actor Raymond Lam and Chinese Actress Tina Tang Yi Xin.

Second is the drama adaptation of RPG game of the same name, most popular known as Swords of Legends 2 aka Legend of the Ancient Sword 2 (古剑奇谭二), starring Fu Xin Bo, Ying Er, Aarif Rahman, and Dylan Kuo. The story structure is similar to part one, a bunch of youngsters gather together to find a mysterious sword to save the day (chicken-scratch storyline). Too many technical terms for me to translate. Lol.

So excited for Unmatched in this World!!! I read on tieba that it’s a recommended Hong Taiji male lead novel but I couldn’t bring myself to read it because I saw that it’s a 虐 novel but a drama about it is welcome cause I am a big fan of Hong Taiji as male lead in novels.
The Hawick Lau and YSS Hong Taiji drama was a meh for me, so hopefully this will be good! Tina is soo pretty here~

No Yang Mi or Li Yi Feng in Swords of Legend 2? Bummer, was hoping they would continue their story line, such a sad ending. I really wanted to see them get reunited, well I guess they sorta did in Fall In Love Like A Star haha.

The single earring on Raymond makes him look…. not straight. Lol.

The boys having beautiful flowing hair in Legends while the girls hair are tied. HAHA.

Rule the world looks so good! The posters look artistically textured with warm, muted colors — seriously like a chinese print or painting. Love the looks too, and Tang Yi Xin looks gorgeous for her first bigger production lead (not counting her other ones cuz while I love her, her lead productions are always…meh).

NOOO stop with the sub par video game adaptations T.T. Tbh to me, the first Chinese Paladin was the only successful one (ppl loved the “3rd”/prequel-technically Chinese Paladin, but while I thought it was good, I never really felt the OTP, and there was always too many sub-plots going on at once; Tang Yan was magnificent in it tho). Back then because of CP1, I LOVED Tang Ren’s rpg adaptations. Now tho, I seriously dread RPG/vid-game adaptations. They start looking more and more cheap with the bright colors and pseudo-cosplay costumes, the storylines repetitive and unoriginal, the OTP’s lacking chemistry, everything lacking logic and spazz. With this one, it’s almost worse for me cuz there’s no one in the cast I’m particularly interested in, so I’m utterly uninterested in this.

They keep pairing Tina with way older actors for a few dramas. Handsome actors but I want to see her with guys her age.

CP1 also for me. I was on Ady-Hu Ge ship until it sank…

I was thinking the same thing. Why is she always paired up with old guys? William Chan was probably the youngest she had in recent years.

Grinning like an idiot over Unmatched’s posters. I loooooove this novel so much and seeing it come to life is so nice. The actors look their parts or at least to my imagination, haha.

    Aarif looks great! ?

Right? Aarif looks so beautiful… Ahhhh!

Polaris, write us a review for Unmatched! It’s rare to see many praises for one novel like this! *puts cherry on top of drink*
