Yang Jing Cheng and Lu Zhuo’s Butterfly Lovers begins filming

Another production begins rolling! Remake of Butterfly Lovers starring two male leads, Yang Jing Cheng and Lu Zhuo, from the director that brought us Love is More Than a A Word and Till Death Tear Us Apart. Though my heart is at the edge of straying to the handsome second male lead played by Lin Feng Song. Anyhoo, nice details and gentle colors, I like the costume designers of Chen Peng’s productions.

Lu Zhuo as Zhu Ying Tai. I think they overdid his make-up and hair for the catwalk. The boy is pretty with less cake, people!

Lin Feng Song (Heroin) as Ma Wen Cai, second male lead. He’s so handsome…. might be on the wrong ship. Lol.

The Butterfly Lovers is a sad love story. It begins with a rich daughter (Zhu Ying Tai) disguised as a man to pursue her intellectual needs at an academy. There she befriends Liang Shan Bo. They study day and night together but because Shan Bo is a gentlemanly nerd, he fails to recognize her feminine characteristics. When they see their love for each other, it’s too late as Ying Tai is forced to marry another man. Shan Bo falls critically ill and eventually dies after hearing the news. On the day of their wedding, Ying Tai sneaks off to visit his grave and begs for it to open up. Once it does, Ying Tai throws herself into the hole. The two dead love birds (Lol, sorry) become a pair of butterflies, never to be separated again. [Wiki]

Too much make up on female/male lead, she looks like Grandma of all the men onstage. Lol.

Lu Zhuo (Zhu Ying Tai) at 24, almost 25, years old is the “oldest” among the young cast members. The hair-custome doesn’t help. Might work better with his hair down.

so i still don’t understand…is he playing a female pretending to be a male, going into an all-boys school?

    ditto with the makeup comment.

Lol. Sorry, I forgot to clarify. The director announced yesterday that it’s gonna be a boy-girl love story. He’s playing a female pretending to be a male to enter the boys academy.
