The Vietnamese adaptation of Gu Man’s novel, Just One Smile is Very Alluring, is called Love At 1st Sight. I think it’s always nice to see what different directors choose to do with their budget and actors to bring the characters and story to life. The teasers look really cute but don’t provide anything about the gaming world so I hope they are saving the best for last!

Gu Man, my dear Kap. Although I’d read it too if it was written by Gu Long. ?

I wouldn’t have known this is a Wei Wei adaptation watching the trailers, but just look at all those pretty people. The female lead looks really adorable, reminds me of Kim Hanuel.

The trailers are pretty generic to a youth drama. Hoping to be surprised when a longer trailer comes out!

I have never watched any Viet productions. But I love this story. Such a great story of Love at first sight. I will loo forward to watching this…
Thanks Kappy for the introduction.

I liked the basketball clip in the second teaser – it tied a tiny bit into the gaming aspect. Thanks for the information!

The posters look like tutorials you see online – see how to do an outer glow on Photoshop! ><
Scrolling through the male lead pictures, I'm like he's all right, okay… and then bam! he smiles and damn, that's cute….

Right? A smile changes everything. I always appreciate a man (and a woman) who smiles!!

I don’t follow Vietnamese news so much and I tend to miss out on news of the younger folks (30 and below)… basically my age range folks lol so when I saw this article I was surprised. Then I realized it wasn’t surprising since Vietnam does like remaking dramas.
Have no idea who the girl is or the male lead. Searched them up and the guy is a model turned actor (I think?), not 100% positive on this. He has a bulkier body than Nhikolai 😛 aha.
The production group… looks like a small company/group to me.
The group of guy friends… the one in denim jacket and yellow t-shirt (also the button up white shirt with black linings) is definitely an actor/comedian great in flamboyant roles lol and so many other roles. Humorous guy 😀
Last line in official Teaser (first video) says: Love has no late beginning(s).
Official poster with the two leads closeup: Can love in the outside world/reality be as beautiful as the fantasy world’s (love) ?
The other posters… they can do better 😛
As for the stills… green screen ftw ?
Camerawork looks nice.
As for possibilities of subs, I’m not sure. It looks like one of those love series they tend to upload on youtube lol. Not that it’s a bad thing. Occasionally those videos on youtube get subbed in English. I guess it depends on how much support there is and if it gets popular (in Vietnam) or from other folks outside of Vietnam.
Based on my cousin (not good source here 😛 ), she said the news of the adaptation is getting mixed reviews from the Viet watchers (those who watched the Chinese version). They said something along the lines of the leads not being up to par to Yang Yang.

My mom watches every drama under the sun. I don’t know how she does it. Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, and Indian (those ones with 500 episodes, OMG).
I feel bad when some fans compare the two versions (cheap/ugly) because we are pitting the budget of a sea monster to that of a fish. Have to be more considerate.

Any remakes often have a set of expectations and standards that arise.
Your mom is like my mom except my mom skips some episode here and there.

Is the guy with facial hair supposed to be KO? He’s hot! I wonder if this is the prerequisite for the character — only for hot actors! LOL

Lols, one of the actors looks like my Boss. My Boss is Viatnamese but living in Bangkok. I wonder about this version, but i dont know where to watch it with engsub. Hopefully viki has the license.

Wow thanks for sharing this. just a smile is very alluring is my favorite novel from Gu man. Although I wasn’t that satisfied with the C drama version. I’m an oddball and actually preferred the C movie version. I’ve watched some Thai dramas and this drama WILL be my first Viet drama if some kind hearted soul would translate it when it releases
