I don’t know about you guys, but I’m a bit saturated with tomb-raiding stories, they have been remade and remade into a number of films and dramas with different faces this past year. And they seem either to be related to The Lost Tomb franchise or Ghost Blows Out The Light franchise. This one is an adaptation of a story from the latter project. Gui Chui Deng Zhi Mu Ye Gui Shi (鬼吹灯之牧野诡事) is the upcoming webdrama starring Gina Jin, Darren Wang, and Wang Li Xin. The story follows fellow ruffian (Darren) being approached by a mysterious woman (Gina) with information about his missing parents of twenty years. Together with a few veterans, they engage on dangerous paths into tombs to uncover deep buried secrets.
Stills:
Darren Wang.

Them leg muscles! I know she graduated from Beijing Dance Academy, so can we use her skills in a dance drama? Add in Yang Yang and Liu Shi Shi. =D Yes yes?
The angsty look!

Zhang Jie.
Zhang Bo Yu.
Li Shi Peng.

Excited to see Gina outside of the Tangren dramas but oh man there’s too many Ghost Blows Out The Light/The Lost Tomb adaptations =_= Love this genre though so fingers crossed this will be good!

Gina!!!!! Looking forward to seeing her act in a different role!
Im just waiting for a really good adaption of a Tomb Raiding drama or movie to appear… 盗墓笔记 with LYF and YangYang had that potential but it got ruined with the changes in plot. Actually many adaptions got ruined because they changed the plot too much lol.

Darren Wang meh… He always got that smirk on him on almost all pictures and magazine photoshoots. I really liked his role in 我的少女時代 but dislike him so much after his continuous multiple scandals in Taiwan.
He definitely got the attitude, which is why he doesn’t land on many CF endorsement in Taiwan despite his fame, because brands prefer stars with clean image. Despite most Taiwanese (fans and press) disliking him, he still have numerous international fans to back him up and Mainland China welcome him with open arms, he’s still doing great outside Taiwan so I also don’t see him coming back to Taiwan.
Wang Li Xin was great in 最好的我們, hoping he’ll shine more in the future but I’m probably going to pass on this one.

This kid is scandalous?! Lol. I don’t follow him at all so have no idea. Just good impression from Our Times is all I have.
Wang Li Xin has potentials! I still haven’t finished With You yet! The unfinished list is growing. O_O

I was about to say the same about that smirk of his lol. All his selfies are always taken at a specific angle, like the kind of ppl who can only pose with one side of their face.

From the way he speaks in interviews and the manners he brings to Taiwanese press, he’s quite full of himself, I think he let the fame got into his head. Judging from the amount of negative press and comments he’s been getting in Taiwan, the press and netizens are generally quite annoyed by him. I guess it’s not a big deal to some, but I dislike stars with too much attitude.
I don’t follow him much actually but I follow Taiwanese entertainment news sites and their facebook regularly so I get the latest updates on various stars but the majority of his news are negative and it impacts his image.
First, it was the scandal with Chen Yu Shan (the female director of Our Times, producer Lan Ling Wang and early SETTV dramas) where they inappropriately french kissed (with tongues) during wrap up party even though her husband was around, well both are inappropriate even though it was all for “fun”.
Then, he further pissed off the press with his arrogant attitude in interviews, then his contract termination with Comic ritz (the company that produced Our Times), and his rich father said he is willing to spend lots of money to redeem him (as his contract left a few more years) and make him a topstar by inviting Ang Lee to direct his new movie (his father likes to boast and daydream, not helping his son’s image for sure).
Terminating a contract with agency is not uncommon but the way he handled the whole thing is ugly and makes him look quite ungrateful to his company (even though Comic ritz do have their fair share of issues too…).
The thing that really pissed off Taiwanese netizens is that when he went to Korea for fanmeeting, he said he is happy to be representing China to hold a fanmeeting in Korea. That was very inappropriate, he could be smarter by keeping quiet as there’s no need to mention “representing” which country as he should know better that Taiwanese is quite sensitive to China-Taiwan issue. He’s such a turn-off off screen, ruining his own image with inappropriate actions and words… Taiwanese netizens are generally quite harsh on him, often making puns on his name – Wang Da Lu (Da Lu means China).
But well, he seems to be doing quite well in China so Taiwanese market shouldn’t matter much to him.

Woah, representing China? That’s like a nono. Guess he’d rather piss off his home country than a bigger country where he can cash on. Reality…
I remember Tzuyu from some Korean girl group got so much fleck for waving her country’s flag (Taiwan) on stage from the Chinese. Guess there’s really no way out of this.
