Yang Zi: In Love and In Pain for melo movie Crying Out In Love

Well, everyone is in love and in pain for the upcoming movie adaptation of Japanese novel, Socrates in Love (恋するソクラテス), written by Kyoichi Katayama. While the first trailer gave us unexpected joy and chemistry between Oho Ou Hao and Zhang Hui Wen, the second trailer gives us a peek at their sorrowful moments following her diagnosis with leukemia. At its core, Crying Out In Love is an uplifting story, encouraging our hero to move on from the love he lost so young and so cruelly.

Stills:

Two stills of Yang Zi. I hope her next role is more upbeat. The poor girl has been taking on some serious roles with no smiles. =/

Second Trailer, BTS, a MV:

  • Synopsis from Wiki: In a small town of southern Japan, Sakutaro “Saku” Matsumoto and Aki Hirose, classmates since junior high, become high school students. During this time they begin to date and their conversations circle around the idea of what love really is, beginning after Saku’s grandfather shares his own past love story with Saku. After a trip the two take to an abandoned island, Aki discovers she has leukemia, which limits her chances to go outside or see Saku. Once Saku learns the truth, he buys flight tickets to take Aki to Australia’s Uluru (Ayers Rock); a place she had always wanted to visit after missing the school trip there, but she dies before she could board the plane. The story takes place as a flashback through Saku’s eyes as he and Aki’s parents travel to Australia to spread Aki’s ashes in the place she had always wanted to see.

I have said it in my last post and I continue to feel that our leads are impressing me in the juiciest way possible – they are sweet and charming, and likely to break our hearts. Crying Out In Love hits theaters on August 26th.

I can’t believe this is a melo movie. Looking at the stills, should be a happy love story with puppies and a happily-ever-after.

I didn’t watch the Japanese dramas or movies versions before but seeing your last post, they are some talented actors in their youth. Will give this a try.

Yang Zi keeps reminding me so much of my most adorable Hu Jing how I miss her so so much, hopefully she can get into smiley roles and do well in them. The main girl is pretty and attractive too, haha give guys the nose bleed!
Yes, I agree this looks very much like a happy movie!

I see the resemblance. Hu Jing is loved. 😀

Lol. Ironically, she’s getting the nosebleed instead!
