Lu Han’s Fighter of the Destiny shares stills and location shoots

It’s been a while that I like everything from hair to clothes of a drama production. The young cast members look really well-put together and I’m glad their stylists love them all equally. Lol. Upcoming novel-to-drama adaptation of Mao Ni’s Fighter of the Destiny (择天记) have a share-day at work and interviews are done with the cast. I haven’t personally watch it yet so I’ll include the videos at the end for those interested.

Character Stills:

Copying and pasting my translation from before:

Lu Han as Chen Chang Sheng. Abandoned in a flowing river and plucked up by a Taoist monk. He’s actually the fourth Prince of the Chen’s Royal bloodline. He’s plagued with an incurable illness, fated not to live past the age of 20. To find a cure, he leaves his temple, armed with a promise of marriage scroll, to become a student at a famous academy. He meets Xu You Rong and they slowly fall in love after hopping though the trials and tribulations of his journey.

Gulnazar as the female lead, Xu You Rong. A gifted child in the practice of a special magical language? Sorry I lost it at this point, all the magical voodoo vocab. She likes archery and hates nuisance.

Lu Han looks like a female dressed in male clothing… He also kind of resembles the female lead in Vicky Zhao Wei’s debut film.

Omg yes I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the photo of him getting his pulse checked! He looks so pretty in that photo lmao!

Ugh…Gulnazar…please don’t let her be like Yu Rou (even similar names!) in Chinese Paladin 5. She was boring, uninspiring and terrible. Her role was a vase.

I’m much more interested in Janice Wu’s role. She seems fun. If Gulnazar is boring old self again, it’s going to be dreadful.

You and me both. Her best performance so far is as the fox spirit in Qing Qiu Hu Chuan Shuo. She and Jiang Jin Fu were so adorable together. Everything else, she was so unmemorable she bordered on annoying.

Janice Wu is awesome no matter what role she is in.

Agree agree. Fox Legend was such a treasure, her and JJF’s part. She was so unexpectedly awesome, I was really looking forward to her plethora of works this summer/year. But so far her roles have been more of the generic, typically boring leads. I’m hoping to start seeing more of that potential we saw in Fox Legend.

@Kumaxell & @ Julianne Lin, I didn’t finish watching that fox spirit drama – after the first segment, the second one went waaay downhill and i lost interest. And after the big fail that was GLZ’s role in CP 5, I wasn’t eager to watch her perform in another one. But maybe I’ll check it out now that you guys rec’d it. Maybe I’ll get a better impression of her.

I haven’t actually watched any of the main characters’ previous works and I’m a little skeptical about Luhan’s acting ability after watching his former groupmate Lay’s. But Wu Qian looks absolutely adorable and from the looks of it, she’s going to get her heart broken pretty badly by Luhan’s character and I don’t know if I can take that sad puppy face 🙁

Gotta agree with you about the hair!
Gulinazha have some awesome and different hair styles finally… except for that first pix though and I thought she was going Sumo all over again, cried for a second. The guys have immature looks which will not match Gulinazha but works better for Janice and the other lady.
I’m not sure if GLNZ can handle acting like a funky little girl because she does look very mature, smart, and elegant. So it should be fine if she’s not doing a cutesy role here, since she hates nuisance in here, only hope she won’t be one herself then it should be all good.

LOL I’ve always been fond of Nazha’s looks because she’s really pretty and you can’t deny that. But pairing her up with Luhan is soo strangely odd because of how young he looks and how much older it makes her look. I’m upset for her a bit, tbh. With a face like Luhan, who looks really pretty, you can hardly find a match for him in drama. It’s not that the girl next to him isn’t pretty, but because a pretty girl doesn’t look good next to a pretty guy lol no chemistry from the get go. But I do hope that this might work out. This couple kinda reminds me of Mai Davika and Mario Maurer from Pee mak, because she looks older than him even when she’s 4 years younger. But at least Mario is a bit more boyish. Plus, Davika has this cold beauty to her which makes them oddly good looking together for some reason.

OMG luhan look really pretty for a boy…
i mean even with simple makeup like that… i feel bad for the lead actress because cnetizens didn’t like her but wit luhan next to her mess. i feel sorry for luhan to because of his bodyand face he often called sissy.

BTW i have overdose of historical drama, but the pictures look promisig so why not, also i recently watched time raiders with Jing boran and luhan, i was surprised by him ( i already know jbr was a good actor), but the CGI was awful.

I’ve only seen Luhan in the movie “The Witness” or as a regular on Running Man, and he didn’t strike me as sissy at all. If anything, he seems fast on his feet and a little slick. He was a natural in The Witness (no awkward idol movie moment for him). So I am hoping that he brought some of that charm to Time Raider (which I totally looking forward to watching.)

BTW, what is his character like in the Fighter of the Destiny? The pictures have him looking scholarly. Fighting destiny one book at a time?

Agreed. Luhan comes across better in punk roles, not innocent roles – they accentuate his feminine features while in the Witness he seemed boyish.

The costuming is awful and cheap looking …. too much westernized styling, especially for the females.

I’m so glad that Luhan act in this drama. He looks like girl here, too young to be lead male 😀 the stylish isn’t good enough for me. I like the stylish from drama The classic of mountain and sea, Gulnazar is really pretty in that drama. I’m okay with her cuz I liked her since that drama. Hope it will come out good 🙂
