Trailers Galore of Chinese Movies at Shanghai Festival 2016

Another compilation and I would like to call it Part 3 to the busy weekend and probably the most exciting one for everyone! Things in motion! Trailers! Teasers! Previews! BTS! The Making! Some of these are revealed before the festival and some after. It’s crazy how many press conference took place this past weekend. Have a sneak peek/feel of your anticipated movies!

=======> ♦ Never Gone (致青春·原来你还在这里) is the film adaptation of the novel, So You’re Still Here by Xin Yi Wu (So Young). Seems like your typical mean-boy-quiet-girl storyline but just a tad more serious because the heroine gets pregnant and they are torn apart, only to be reunited years later. I’m excited to see this because Kris looks quite expressive and the tough-guy act always gets me softened quickly. Plus, the numerous pretty faces help too. hee! Release date: July 8th.

=======> ♦ Edge of Innocence (夏天十九歲的肖像) adapted from the Japanese novel Summer – Nineteen-Year-Old Portrait starring Huang Zi Tao and Yang Cai Yu. Release date: July 8th.

Huang Zi Tao also sings a song for the soundtrack. “19 Years Old.”

=======> ♦ Bounty Hunters (赏金猎人). Interview and behind-the-scene with the cast members. Release Date: July 1st.

Wallace getting the Gu-Jun-Pyo hair treatment. ROFL. Blink and you’ll miss his reaction.

=======> ♦ Tik Tok (惊天大逆转) with Wallace Chung and Lee Jung Jae. Release Date: July 15th.

=======> ♦ Three (三人行) with Vicki Zhao, Louis Koo, and Wallace Chung. Yep. Wallace strikes again! I like that he plays three completely different characters in three movies. A psycho here. My favorite has got to be his humorous role in Bounty Hunters though. Release Date: June 24th/30th.

=======> ♦ I Love That Crazy Little Thing (那件疯狂的小事叫爱情) with William Chan, Jessica Jung, Tina Tang, and Nicholas Tse. William’s screaming had me rolling. 50 Shades of Grey? And I have never watched the movie or read the book! Release Date: August 5th.

=======> ♦ League of Gods (封神传奇之雷震子) with Jet Li, Fan Bing Bing, Louis Koo, Huang Xiao Ming, and Angelababy. Release Date: July 29th.

=======> ♦ The Precipice Game (魔轮) with Ruby Lin, Peter Ho, and Kingscar Jin. A wealthy girl rebels against family and joins her boyfriend for a treasure hunt on a cruise. Why does it feel like the Saw franchise with people killed left and right? Intrigued. Release Date: July 1st.

=======> ♦ My Best Friend’s Wedding (我最好朋友的婚礼) with William Feng Shao Feng, Shu Qi, and Victoria Song. Release Date: August 5th.

=======> ♦ Adding L.O.R.D: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties (爵迹) into this batch as well. Release Date: September 30th.

=======> ♦ Risking Life for Love (致命恋爱) with Ha Ji Won, Bolin Chen, and Chun Jung Myung. Her red dress looks like the blue one she wore to Shanghai Festival. Lol.

=======> ♦ Call of Heroes (危城) with Louis Koo, Eddie Peng, Wu Jing, and Sean Lau. Release Date: August 2016.

=======> ♦ Railroad Tigers (铁道飞虎) with Jackie Chan, Nick Wang, Darren Wang, and Huang Zi Tao. You know, I would love you more Jackie if this teaser was more relevant and if you promoted Ashton Chen too! Grab that kid and make him famous! Release Date: December 16th.

=======> ♦ Cold War 2 (寒戰II) with Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwon, Tony Leung, Eddie Peng, Aarif Rahman, and Tony Yang. Love seeing ex-TVB actors go at it. heehee!!

=======> ♦ Line Walker (使徒行者) The Movie with Charmaine Sheh, Nick Cheung, Francis Ng, and Louis Koo. Ah! Remember the fun discussion we had with the drama version (guessing the moles and spies?) Good times. Benz Hui and his creepy smile makes a comeback. Release Date: August 11th.

=======> ♦ Now You See Me 2 (惊天魔盗团2) with Daniel Radcliffe, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jay Chou. An interesting collaboration and Jay even sings the themesong! Looking forward! Release date: June 10th/June 24th.

=======> ♦ Comedy film For A Few Bullets (快手枪手快枪手) with Lin Geng Xin and Zhang Jing Chu. A badass heroine allying herself with a con man! I like what I see. The hilarious themesong! Release Date: July 15th.

=======> ♦ Time Raiders (盗墓笔记) with Boran Jing, Lu Han, and Sandra Ma. Looking neat and dark. Release Date: Summer 2016.

=======> ♦ Chinese Odyssey 3 (大话西游3) with Han Geng and Tang Yan. They look really cute in here and Tang Yan might steal your heart. Release Date: August 19th.

I hope you at least like one of the featured movies so my efforts feel worth it. Lol.

Big thank you for the effort!!! 🙂

Everything in League of Gods look so bad omg…The baby looks scary instead of cute to me oh gosh!
Everyone in L.O.R.D look so animated that the CGI becomes acceptable!

Eddie looks amazing in Call of Heroes! Always have a soft spot for this playful guy! HAHAHAHHA love that part at the end of the trailer!!! Calling himself handsome while looking at the mirror LMAO!!

And yep, Tang Yan did really steal my heart in that trailer! Never did like any of the characters she acted in (except for the one in Chinese Paladin 3), but here she is really cute heh!

Yea, I’m not sure the effect of the baby is what they intended it to be… Lol.

Same here with CP3 for Tang Tang!

The trailers certainly did a good job to make the movies look like movies that I would like to watch maybe.

League Of Gods and LORD do not me appeal to me at all.

I like that Kris is doing so many movies and doing different things in each one. Tao doesn’t look bad at all.
To some people here they are not Chinese enough but…

Not Chinese enough? Kris and Tao are born Chinese with full chinese blood in them. Yes, they returned to their homeland after a foreign stage, but we should still welcome them in open arms, both are very talented in their own ways.

I don’t follow Tao, but I love each and every one of Kris’ projects. Him and Yifei are truly VISUAL COUPLE goals and I anticipate Never Gone, Sweet Sixteen and L.O.R.D because I know he will be amazing in all of them.

These trailers are seriously exceeding expectations.

Thanks for posting these trailers, Kappy! Excited to read the release date of Three. It helps this wounded heart a little bit — still bummed about the delay of Rookie :(((( I am not sure if it will be screened here in my country around the same time, or even at all, but one can always hope. Wallace impresses me in the trailer, so I hope the movie won’t suck.

My favorite one from this post is Cold War II. Eddie and Louis look great and the cinematography is fantastic! Now, that is one movie that I will be looking forward to too!

Kris Wu’s facial expressions are killing me in that trailer. This seems like such a fun movie to start the summer! Oh, to be young. I love all the cast! Kris, Liu Yifei.. and Li Qin, and Kimi Qiao are also in this. Seriously cannot wait for this.

Let me be the first one to say it on this site but Kris and Liu Yifei are the prettiest pairing in C-Ent right now.

    This picture is something else:

I have to disagree. Yang and yang and Lou tiger takes my breath away with how beautiful they are

      • 15 thoughts on “Trailers Galore of Chinese Movies at Shanghai Festival 2016

        Liu Yifei. Stupid autocorrect

      • 15 thoughts on “Trailers Galore of Chinese Movies at Shanghai Festival 2016

Different tastes and all that. I personally think Yang Yang has a really generic and boring face, but that’s just me! He and Liu Yifei look more like siblings than anything else.

Quite interested in Cold War II, My Best Friend’s Wedding, and all of Wallace Chung’s films. But I guess the one I’m looking forward to the most is Chinese Odyssey 3. I grew up watching the first two parts of Chinese Odyssey and other Stephen Chow films. Chinese Odyssey in particular has a huge place in my heart due to its intricate storyline. Interestingly enough I just rewatched the films last year so I’ll be on the look out for the 3rd one. 😀 And I noticed that Tang Yan sort of resembles Athena Chu.

A little resemblance and she looks very cute in the trailer! Expressions! XD

my favorite so far has to be “for a few bullets” with lin geng xing and zhang jingchu. i have a soft spot for lgx and it’s one of the few action trailers without loads of obvious cgi, plus it reminds me of the good, the weird, and the bad and let the bullets fly so i’m definitely looking forward to it. plus his goofiness and her badass comes through nicely in the trailer.

ha ji won and bolin chen’s flick is looking very interesting too and because i love ha ji won so will give that a go. bounty hunters looks pretty funny – wallace’s character is probably going to be the most enjoyable. lol

chinese odyssey part 3 makes me cry and is totally cringeworthy…. *cries* i will probably watch it just because i love love love the originals but i may have to go through a brainwash after. i just don’t know how yet.
