Li Yi Feng rants passionately in The Legend of Chusen’s trailer

YAY! First trailer is out everyone! And it’s a pretty interesting concept, having the male lead rants passionately at how everyone is all up in arms about being labeled white and black (aka good and evil) and neglects the results of their actions: unnecessary deaths. It’s a damn good trailer and I like how his voice displays strong feelings on the subject because heavens know we have a lot of grievances with the good sects being portrayed as the total opposite in recent wuxia-themed dramas. Let them two-faced burn in hell! hehe.

Bring it on!

Stills:

Quick Synopsis: The story follows two youths, Xiao Fan (Li Yi Feng) and Jing Yu (Cheng Yi), after their whole village was massacred in one night. Both were saved by Qing Yun sect and raised differently. Xiao Fan is an ordinary kid and is sent to do chores in the kitchen while Jing Yu, the extraordinary one of the two, is given chances to learn the highest skills in Qing Yun sect. A lot more events happen and eventually Xiao Fan is pushed to the dark side and he follows Ghost King and gets a new name in Gui Li (Ghost Tears).

Zhao Li Ying as Bi Yao. She’s Ghost King’s daughter. She saves Xiao Fan from a fatal wound and never comes around. The reason why he joins the dark side with a promise to wake her up. The sleeping beauty whose body disappears by the end of the drama. Too funny. I’m gonna eat up this tragic romance.

The lovely Yang Zi joining the wuxia world! She plays Lu Xue Qi. The next generation of young talented disciples of Qing Yun sect. Aside from her cold beauty, she’s a no non-sense type of person with a passionate heart. Too pretty for words, this girl.

Cheng Yi as Lin Jing Yu. Xiao Fan’s childhood friend.

Like frea, I’m really loving the concept and execution of the trailer. It feels a lot less idol-y and fake and loy-quality than all the recent period/wuxia/fantasy dramas coming out (Storming Prophecies is an exception). This really looks amazing. The plot looks good, Li Yi Feng is looking and sounding really good in terms of skill and emoting, and the quality of the trailer is great. I love that it’s not just a rant, but also the way LYF keeps saying No, it shouldn’t be, start again. That’s so powerful, how his words and the music, and his tone of voice get more and more agitated and aggressive and passionate each time he starts over. How it starts calm and peaceful, and ends with a sudden silence and calm too. The words and music build and build and suddenly revert back to calm where he says he realizes that from the moment he stepped into Qing Yun, there was no turning back. That’s powerful.

I used to love LYF, but lately not so much. Now though, I’m really interested into the hero’s journey and how he changes emotionally, ideologically, and stuff. I’m not just watching for ZLY and YZ anoymore, I’m actually invested in LYF and his character now too.

Good work with the trailer so far! (some of the CGI and backgrounds are nicely done too…obiously fantasy and generated, yet not obviously fake and cheap either).

Finally actually looking forward to this now. Sweet stuff.

LOL I reckon being evil and villainy suits Li Yifeng much better than the cute puppies he usually seems to play. His eyes make him look very convincing as a villain honestly playing a villain is more challenging than playing a good guy.

I’ve been wanting to see LYF play a villain since Ancient Sword and so I will look forward to seeing this! 🙂

I remember our conversation about villainy Li Yi Feng. Lol. Good times!

Li Yi Feng is back on my good side with this trailer. So glad to want to see a drama because of both the girls and boys. Before, it was only for Li Ying and Yang Zi. Lol.

      Thumbs up!

July? Whoa…I had a feeling ZLY will have another hit summer after HQG, but I didn’t expect that many dramas to air. Haha She’s definitely dominating the summer with blockbusters.

Can I just say wow at the trailer!? I love his voice too! Especially those parts where he went “Again!”, the different emotions at different ‘Again(s)’. It reminded me of the Princess of LanLing’s trailer but a totally different feel. The end of the trailer had me really excited to watch the drama even though the plot isn’t really new.

I LOLed at the part where LYF supposedly smiled with evilness at 2 plus min kekeke! Also, that part where ZLY and her 2 other companions wore those black cloaks, it totally reminded me of Twilight *coughs*. Yang Zi looks so pretty?? I couldn’t recognise her initially when the stills first came out because she looked different from how she was on 花样姐姐, too thin now! But still beautiful!

Yes you can because most of us are!! WOOOHOO!! =D

No, I laughed at the crazed eye moment too. So funny!! And if my eyes didn’t fool me, the other two hooded companions next to Li Ying were good friends Xiao Fan (Li Yi Feng) and Jing Yu (Cheng Yi).

Yang Zi did slim down a few pounds for her role here. She’s losing her baby fat. 🙁

haven’t watch LYF in anything, but the last line sent chills down my spine.. may pick this up when it’s out..

I’ve always had a soft spot for ancient fantasy, especially the legendary novel that is Zhu Xian. so far the CG is well done, and voice actor Ah Jie’s narration makes it even better.
Definitely all for it if the script holds up, and if Li Yifeng can prove he has more than one expression when acting.

Every one looks so pretty, looking forward to this!

Off-topic – Kap, have you watched The Rise of A Tomboy? Story was okay, but ZLY was cute 😀

I have Tusu. Disappointed. The jarring and choppy editing drove me off the wall and it didn’t capture my so-so-so-easy-to-pacify heart. Lol.

      • 22 thoughts on “Li Yi Feng rants passionately in The Legend of Chusen’s trailer

Adorable ZLY didn’t save the movie for you? Agree about the choppy editing though, it made every thing move at x100 speed and at the end it was like, huh… oh okay. Haha. Jung Il Woo’s role was… pathetic. Oops.

Oooo nice trailer! Much much better than I expected. I’ve regained interest in this drama now hehe.

    Hi there !

Has it confirmed that the story stays true to the novel ? In other words : Xiao Fan will end up will Xue Qi ? I love the novel, but I can only read the translation (only 1/3 or 1/2 of the novel available). So far, I like the story and characters the way it is. I never like Bi Yao, and I always like Xue Qi and Xiao Fan. Yang Zhi really suits my imagination about Xue Qi, so I don’t think I want to watch it if they change the storyline.

Ya…..I’m so worry about this drama and i also love this novel so much, but i scare they change stuff from the novel. Since i read the novel i really like the character of Xue Qi. So i want to see this character on screen how much she is cool….. and this novel is also great. Actually, i don’t care who play this drama just want to see the character fit with them, but i think this drama is probably different with novel because the character were taken it is abit different ZhLY is more popular than YZ. Hopefully, they don’t change.

Wah, I’m glad that I’m not the one! Yeah, I also dont care about the actresses, as long as they suit the image from the novel, as well as the story. They could just switch parts if they want a more famous actress as the lead, as long as the story stays. Plus, I like LYF so I really wish to watch him in a good drama+story.

Anyway, I found this link. I guess this should be a good sign that they will follow the novel, shouldnt it? Although I’m still not totally convinced …coz they will surely add more scenes for Biyao. I’m just affraid that they will still make her the lead then let ZXF ends with Xueqi, so this will end as a tragic love story. Haha..so much for my negative imagination ..:p

I think either way, it’s going to be a tragic romance. First hint: …they say no kisses! Lol. 😀

        • 22 thoughts on “Li Yi Feng rants passionately in The Legend of Chusen’s trailer

          *LOL*

Well, if they at least follow the novel and let Xueqi shines without being overshadowed by Biyao, then I’ll be fine 😀

What do you think?
