=======> ♦ Guo Jing Ming‘s novel, Rush to the Dead Summer, has some names attached (not confirmed): Zheng Shuang as the female lead, and Bai Jing Ting as the second male lead. Uh, strange combo.

You know of all the exes out there, I hope these two sweet souls work out. They might as well work out since their rumor has been going on for almost….20 years. LOL. PLEASE!

 photo 35batch 48.jpg

=======> ♦ Zhao Li Ying remains the busy bee, or at least her projects are churning out promotional teasers left and out, leaving me breathless, scurrying to update. Below are new teasers for The Mystic Nine and Rookie Agent Rouge. She has quite a number of action scenes in the latter project! ;D

As for Princess Agents (filming is extremely secretly), the author absolutely adores Li Ying. She posted on her weibo that Li Ying is completely different from her imagination. Driven and hard-working, Li Ying has high requirements for herself and filming, always waking early to film and staying up late to converse with her (the author) about the story. Even when the author is distracted/persuaded about how certain scenes should be filmed, Li Ying steps up and professionally keeps everyone in tune with the storyline. According to the author, the main leads have all read the novel, especially Li Ying who suddenly grabbed her to talk about the story in the beginning. LOL. I love Li Ying, she’s really dedicated into the characters that she plays.

And guess what guys? You guys will be proud of me for sure. I have finished volume 1 (44 chapters) of the novel!!! I can’t believe how much I love this girl to do that for her (never have I ever read more than 4 chapters of a Chinese novel before)!! I need a crown or something.

And…. I will be writing a summary for ya’ll. You love me now don’t you?? HAHA. ^__^

A pretty darn awesome fanmade mv, mixing the Li Yi Feng’s Sparrow and Zhao Li Ying’s Rookie Agent Rouge.

Stills from Rouge and New Eternal Wave.

Woo!!! Yang yang and Zhang tian ai!!! Cant wait!! They werent paired up in the movie but now they are!!! Good choice. Hope it comes true!!!

All of a sudden, all the dramas are coming out left and right!!!

    Yan Kuan looks so hot!!

Who says Lee Min Ho can sing??!!! But its a cute sing.

Zhao Li Ying has been commented like that before too right?? Everyone always says shes very professional when filming. She is really a dedicated actress in this generation.

Cant wait for your translation of princess agents!! Im proud and thankful!!! ?

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Yep! Most of her co-stars say that about her too, recently was William Chan! He said she’s totally different when she’s in character!

  2. 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Who’s sung joon? I googled him and it showed park seo joon, lol? I was like why does he look so familiar? So is he making a cameo or part of it since it was sort of his breakout role anyway? I’m curious who will take on Siwon’s role though~ JACKSON!

Thanks for the insight on ZLY. I truly appreciate the news about how hard working and dedicated she is as an actress. I also heard that the author of JoF commended her as well. I know there are some haters for her but I think she’s really one of the best for her generation. I think most of the actresses in her time lack the screen presence and characterization that she embodied. Plus, she’s quite diverse with roles too. I like how she played a villain in Gong movie and the bubbly food-obsessed girl in Boss and Me.

      Hi!

Sung Joo is a member of Korean-Chinese boys group called UNIQ. He is Korean and almost fluent at Mandarin. He is at a drama called “Magical Space Time” together with some popular names like Ruby Lin and he is at the drama where Zhang Zhe Han and Park Min Young are together. He has done cameo appearances in other dramas in China.

      • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Oh thanks for the information! Omg. They look eerily similar O_O.

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Yes! The authors of the novels she’s worked for really adore Li Ying, same goes to the coworkers she has worked with.

No actresses can win everyone – they can only win the majority. 🙂

  3. 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Zhang Tian Ai and Yang Yang will look soooo good together!!! I approve! <3

I look forward to reading your summary of the novel of Princess Agents!!! ^_^

  4. 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Ruby and Wallace look really good together! Look at Wallace protecting her heh! Hope they will get married soon since Ruby really isn’t young anymore!

Wait…what is this webdrama for Ten Miles of Peach Blossom?

Can I just say that I am actually really disappointed that Gina isn’t gonna be in Monster Killer 2…She and Elvis had really great chemistry! Even though I know that the novel has like 2 more other female leads other than Yue Ya, so Season 2 must have a new female lead.. I can’t help but to want Gina to come back and act as the other leads. The ending of Monster Killer was so bad that it made me really mad…Everything about the drama was perfect until the ending sigh…give me a Wu Xin that remembers Yue Ya!!!

I am actually looking forward to Zhang
Han’s Ten Deadly Sins! The plot is quite interesting and honestly, the name of the drama is really attractive hahaha!

YangYang looks so nerdy kekeke! That
    geek specs lmao!!!

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

It’s just a webdrama they’re planning. Milking the most out of the favorite characters that might not get a lot of screen time in the drama version.

It would be nice if he remembers a little about Yue Ya!

  5. 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

You should definitely summarize all the chapters! Even better if you could translate the whole novel for those international fans (including me) of ZLY! 🙂

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

LOL. I don’t want to make any promises because it’s a long novel! XD

      • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Only if you have the time and want to do it. I greatly appreciate it! I want some spoilers!

I’ll be looking forward to your summary on Princess Agents, Kap. I couldn’t get into the book myself.

The more I look at Rouge, the more I’m reminded of Tang Yan’s Agent X. Even the trailer’s beginning reminded of it. Young, innocent girls starting their lives in the military, the male lead as an already accomplished individual, spying…yeah, all too familiar. Here’s to hoping that it’s not as ridiculous as Agent X though.

Liying’s dedication to work is always great to read about. That’s what I admire in her.

Liking the amount of Yang Yang shows up in this post. The world needs more of him. And that’s such a lovely banner you have of Yang Yang Liu Yifei, Kap!

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

It was not easy Polaris. I tried many times to get over the first few chapters, so I can understand your feelings.

I didn’t watch Agent X! YESH! Finally, something on my side. Lol.

I couldn’t help making a banner for them!! They are beautiful. Sometimes, I don’t want to refresh the page when I land on it. XD

      • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Yes, I was so put off by the first few chapters over how cruel they were. T_T

Agent X is not recommended unless you’re a big fan of Luo Jin, Tang Yan or their sizzling chemistry, lol.

Hahaha I should screencap that banner and save it. So beautiful. *sigh*

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Not to worry Polaris, the annual post for 2016 banners will be posted soon. 🙂

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Never heard of Agent X … is it any good apart from the ridiculous you mentioned? 🙂

TBH I think it’d be more interesting for Rouge if the male lead (Lu Yi’s character) was a bad guy all along, but I guess the scriptwriters won’t go there cuz he’s like the romantic interest and all… *sigh*

      • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

No shimo, you will not like Agent X. Too many things wrong with it. The only two things that I liked were the chemistry between Luo Jin and Tang Yan, and the transformation of TY’s character. And I didn’t even watch the drama in full–only watched the Luo Jin cut version. Still it was ridiculous and too “dog blood”.

Hahaha, it would be interesting to see Lu Yi as the bad guy. Such a good twist!

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Urgh if there’s anything that I don’t like in dramas it’s “dog blood”

Just drives me nuts and makes me turn it off quicker than anything LOL

Hehe TBH I just wanna see how Lu Yi acts as a bad guys cuz he’s always the good guy (well OK he looks more like a good guy than bad guy) BUT it’ll be cool if his character SEEMS like a good guy but is actually the big bad all along HEHEHEHEHEHE *cackle*

I just wanna see if LY can pull something like that off, that’s all 🙂 In all the stuff I’ve seen of him, I haven’t seen him as a bad guy so I’m just curious…

It’s similar to how I wanna see Li Yifeng play a villain (although LBR LYF actually looks the part)

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Yeah I know how you feel about dog blood dramas so I wouldn’t recommend it to you. You and I can talk for days over the amount of dog blood in Cdramas these days lol.

Right? I’d love to see LY in a villainous role tbh. A lot of actors these days, especially married ones with families, try to avoid playing villains because they’re afraid of scaring off their kids and whatnot, but these roles are often meaty and memorable if written well. Okay, maybe not even a villain for LY but someone who’s not the regular goody two shoes.

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

LOL I totally agree with you, polaris! WAAAAAY too much dog blood in Cdramas (especially the Yuma and Tong Hua dramas O. M. G.!!!) I sat through the GODAWFUL Yun Zhong Ge for Lu Yi and Chen Xiao and I was like, seriously, LY? HOW FAR HAVE YOU FALLEN (T_T)

I totally agree about what you said about actors with families. I think they’re so careful with maintaining their healthy image and stuff so it’s actually pulling them back in terms of expanding their acting diversity. I’m not saying that everyone should go play psychotic murderers, but it’s usually those characters who are more shades of grey (like half villain/half hero type of characters) that are way more interesting and more challenging to portray well.

For example, in Nirvana in Fire, Prince Yu’s character is a villain but he does some parts of him worth sympathizing and the actor who played him did such a GREAT job at making what would otherwise be a very hateful character (to audiences) come across as somewhat sympathetic, while keeping the villainy in place (and not woobie-fying him).

So I guess this is probably why I want to see actors like LY (who’ve pretty much always played the good guy) play some “grey” characters … he’s got the acting chops to pull it off and it’d be interesting to see 🙂

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

I skipped Yun Zhong Ge to avoid seeing Lu Yi fall into the hands of Yuma. A lot of accomplished actors seem to fall at his hands, unfortunately. I mean, I totally get that they want to reach out to the younger audiences too but Yuma in my book is the lowest of the lows. I won’t even get into Tong Hua lol.

Agree with you on Prince Yu. I give Victor Huang major props for his portrayal. This is the type of character I’d like to see in more dramas. And it’s a “safe” character for fathers like Lu Yi.

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

I’ve been a LY fan for ages (男神孔明 will always have a special place in my heart ♥♥♥) and after watching Yun Zhong Ge I was like: “PLEASE don’t do anymore Yuma dramas or even I who have loved you for years will lose respect for you! Like JC how the hell did you go from 三国 to this shit??!”

To be fair, the 3 main guys (Du Chun, Lu Yi, Chen Xiao) and the baddies like Yang Rong and Bao Beier acted really well, but just that the script was an epic FKing mess. Holy shit. I mean, I don’t expect anything decent to come from Tong Hua (oh God let’s not go there) but Tong Hua adapted Yuma? The shit has just hit the fan.

As for Victor Huang, I’ve kept an eye on him ever since Zhou Yu (cuz he was AWESOME there … wasn’t onscreen a lot but he made every minute count, which is what any good actor should do) and if anything he got even better in Nirvana as Prince Yu! I HATED that character when I read the book but Victor made him AWESOME in the drama! So full of layers and portrayed with such subtlety! I was actually sad when Prince Yu died in the drama (when in the novel I was rejoicing). THIS is the sort of character and acting that I want to see more of in dramas!

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Hell even Legend of Qin is 10000000000000000000000000000000000000x better than the mess that was Yun Zhong Ge cuz Qin was just messy due to the script, but at least the acting by the whole cast was very good and there were fight scenes and nice music and stuff. Actually LY and Michelle were wonderful in Qin and their OTP was so much fun to ship hahahaha.

Yun Zhong Ge was an epic fail IMO because on top of the shitty script, the focal point of the story, the female lead, was played someone who CAN’T ACT EVEN IF HER LIFE DEPENDED ON IT OMG LIKE HOLY SHIT I had to skip most of the bits with just Yun Ge cuz she was so GODAWFUL and CRINGEWORTHY FFS

        • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

I hesitated to interrupt. Haven’t you watched 假如生活欺骗了你? LY was not that good a guy there. Dumped a loyal, poor GF to upgrade to a classy Qin Hailu from an influential family. Often struggled with insecurity after marrying her. The Qin Hailu character was very willful at times, driving me nuts. She’s a good actress though. I thought LY’s psych struggle in that series was somewhat interesting. But I got worn out by the usual family drama issues. The various family bickering due to limited financial means etc.

LY might have been a bad guy too in Iron Mask Singer. (I didn’t watch it.) I think he may be a bad guy in a Minguo drama too. I didn’t watch that either.

Yun Zhong Ge was very painful to watch in many ways. I also really disliked the florescent pink eye shadow and rouge on Rachel Mao and the maids. Bad CGIs. A lot of people said Ababy was a lot better than expected, but I still couldn’t make it through. The singing sounded so painfully whiny. The latest Demon Girl ending song still has traces of that sort of tune and singing style. Which had been around since at least Mei Ren Xin Ji with R Lin. I think it’s best Yuma doesn’t remake any Jin Yong series. Esp if he will use aBaby. 🙂

I’m surprised so many people include bbjx in their top 10 favorite series ever. All Tong Hua novels that I have ever heard of have Mary Sue leads. Does she have any with non-Mary Sue leads?

  8. 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Thanks for the updates on ZLY. I should also go back to continuing the book. Her character is so very badass in that. I stopped because I couldn’t help mourning for the changes in the male lead 1…although she should have crackling chemistry with the second male as well (there were some awesome fight/sexy scenes where I’ve read so far). I love the two guys but the first one first so it was harder to let go…well I’m not making sense without giving spoilers but she has two great lovelines and some minor lovelines.

It has a great story but I hope for her sake, the male leads do well because they both have to be very charismatic for it to work…and secondly that the production is good enough to deliver a bonafide hit.

Oh yay! Maybe we can exchange notes?? I’m still not clear/confused with the ranking of the clans and lands myself. Just trying my best here. ^_^

But no spoilers for others of course. heh!

After knowing Li Ying is going to star in Princess Agent, I went and checked out the novel. The synopsis draws me in (I’m a sucker for smart, independent badass female leads) and so I started reading it. And I totally fell in love with it!! I couldnt stop reading till like 4 a.m but I’ve got no regrets. It’s definitely one of the best novel I’ve ever read. But to be honest, I already knew who she was going to end up with from the beginning so I don’t have to go through the frustration of boarding the wrong ship XD …Oh, and, I didnt immediately fell in love with the story… I only started getting into it after a number of chapters~~~

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

Feel free to email me if you would like to exchange notes about the novel! I would like to have a good translation as I summarize the chapters. All help is greatly appreciated! ^_^

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

You were so lucky i boarded the wrong ship from the start…even though I actually squealed more over the real guy but when i sense the change in tide it still hurts because 1st guy was so nice in the beginning when everyone else was so goddamn cruel…

Looking forward to the medical drama with Jin Dong and BBH! The lineup is great and I’m always here for more medical dramas 🙂

When’s Rouge gonna air? Really wanna see that. Apparently it’s being pushed back? September? U got a date for us, Kappy?

LOL that still of Lu Yi and ZLY pointing guns at each other reminds me of Disguiser … except I keep thinking we need an extra gun to complete the triangle hahaha 🙂

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

No confirmed air date yet. 🙁 I just wanna cry! But September might not be bad because she already has two projects for July, and I need a break too! Lol.

“Wu Xin The Monster Killer Season 2 will begin filming in July. Elvis Han, Mike D. Angelo, and Chen Yao are returning.”

OHMAGERDDDDD! I’m so excited. I was so upset when they left the plot just hanging like that at the end of season 1. Even though I could’ve just accepted as is, I loved the cast and the friendship/brotherhood between Elvis & Wang Yan Lin and didn’t want to see it just end so abruptly. I hope the new season will still have WYL in it even though Gina’s not going to be there. And Chen Yao is coming back too — YAAASSSS. I loved her in season 1 – she was so dementedly badass – but was super cute & creepy while doing it. Her makeup/look in the first season was spot on gorgeous – i really hope she keeps them circle lenses and wig on! So happy!

    • 43 thoughts on “Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (35)

I know! I hope Lord Gu (Ian Wang) returns because their bromance is my favorite thing (even more than the romance sometimes) from Season 1!

LOL same. Especially if the plot is anything like the rumors said it’d be! 🙂

My sister somehow watched Yun Zhong Ge and she kept saying how stupid it was, especially Yun Ge’s character. I watched a couple of scenes with her just to see her point proven. Lol. At this time, I’d like to pretend that LY never succumbed to Yuma. Plus, he really didn’t have to work with Yuma to appeal to the younger audiences. The variety show he was on with his daughter already did that for him. Let us hope he doesn’t go for another Yuma production. LET US HOPE THERE WILL BE NO MORE YUMA PRODUCTIONS, PERIOD. *wishful thinking*

The last production I watched of Victor Huang’s was when he was still in Taiwan as a supporting character. So seeing him in NiF was refreshing, and the fact that he played Prince Yu so well made me very happy.

I couldn’t hate anyone in NiF, even Xia Jiang. They all had their reasons for doing what they did and none of them were truly stupid.

Yuma + AB = Polaris runs away ASAP lol.

LOL no worries, polaris! I understood your comment just fine so it’s all cool! 🙂

OMG TOTALLY AGREE with you about Yuma dramas!!! Let’s all hope the drama Gods are kind and we don’t have to suffer through the stupidity of Yuma dramas…

*SIGH* I totally agree – LY really didn’t have to succumb to Yuma dramas cuz he’s already pretty well-known! I can’t understand WHY he would fall into Yuma’s hands but let’s hope he doesn’t anymore. I never watch Yuma dramas but I sat through Yun Zhong Ge mainly for LY (how’s that for true love) and let’s just hope I won’t have to do that again LOL. LY’s actually got some upcoming projects that are pretty good!

“In the Name of the People” is a big shot production he’s just finished filming and it’s the first drama of its kind because it’s the first anti-corruption drama China has allowed to be produced. The highlight is that the plot gets into all the corruption of the government officials which normally is completely off-limits to everyone, let alone dramas! But somehow the Chinese Govt came around and supports the production, and the scriptwriter, director, and production team are ALL multi-award winning veterans who are all like MASTERS of their fields. Also the cast consists of award winning actors/actresses who are all veterans too – in fact the average age of the cast is 50+ and LY is actually the youngest (LOL) of the main cast. And he’s actually leading this drama too so this LY fangirl here is very happy 🙂

The scriptwriter is known as the #1 political novelist in China who went into semi-retirement cuz he was so pissed that his ideas weren’t allowed to be published (he writes about the really sensitive topics in Chinese politics/society). He sat on this idea for the script of this drama for like 10 years and it’s only now that the Chinese Govt let him make it into a drama, so he got his old mates (award winning directors, etc.) and they got the support of the Chinese Liberation Army and Anti-Corruption Dept to help them make this drama. The main cast actually lived in the barracks, etc. to get into the characters lives (method acting FTW) and most of the drama was filmed through the night (how’s that for intense).

Apparently the script has epic dialogs (like books long) and since the main cast come from the 3 most famous Chinese acting schools (中戏,上戏,北电), they made the acting into a healthy competition between the acting schools (with the actors representing their alma mater) to show off their line-delivery skills LOL

And then there’s also the rumored “Blind Date” with Jiang Xin which if true then will be awesome cuz Jiang Xin is one hell of an AWESOMELY TALENTED BEAUTIFUL actress (OK I have an epic girl crush on her I admit it). It’ll be like ice cream with cherry on top for me cuz I get to see my fave actor/actress collaborate! Also, the drama is actually a Chinese adapt of the famous Argentinian drama which has already sold rights to US, Russia, Germany, and now China. The story is pretty interesting and it’s kinda like a Bridget Jones type of story LOL

Anyway, about NIF: I totally agree cuz I really loved watching the bad guys’ performances! I hated the villains in the book but when I watched the drama, the actors’ portrayals totally impressed me so much that I ended up enjoying watching the villains onscreen! Victor Huang and Liu Yijun (Xie Yu) were the highlights for me and yes, Xia Jiang was great too! 🙂

Nirvana script had obvious weaknesses but the drama worked so successfully because the whole cast was really good, especially with the baddies who made everything more interesting! 🙂
