Films from all over the world getting their sneak peeks and previews. And stars decked out in all sorts of finery and bling bling. Still lacking in colors but nothing crazy.
Attendees:
Li Bing Bing leads the pack. I don’t follow her as frequent but she looks exceptionally exuberant at the event. The peace sign. Lol.
Ni Ni arriving and looking effortlessly put together. Woman, why is life so unfair?
Actress Zhao Tao. Refined and classy.
Another classic beauty in Liu Yi Fei. Cute gown.
When it comes to attitude and sass, Gong Li has them in spades. She’s like a host welcoming us into her party. X)
Wang Zhi. I love her classic deep red lips color and hair, but the gown, looks funky.
With Actor Liu Xiang Jing.
Dong Wei Jia. Interesting beaded neckline. Not so much the hair.
Decked out in jade is Mao Jun Jie.
Huang Lu.
Johnny Huang Jing Yu.
Thai actress Chompoo Araya A. Hargate. How did she fit it in the limo…
Lastly, the poor team of Time Raiders (The Lost Tomb Movie) didn’t make it to the red carpet due to error in communication/arrangement. A public apology is announced this morning. Aww. They made do with poses in the balcony.
Sandra Ma.
Boran Jing.
Here, since I feel bad for the team, a ripped version of the trailer released at Cannes:

I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t find Liu Ye Fei beautiful. Just never understood the hype about her being the perfect “xiao long nu”. I think Carmen Lee was more ethereal and beautiful in that role. LYF can be cute, but not gorgeous IMO.
I think Ni Ni, Li Bing Bing, Gong Li, and Sandra Ma are stunning (even if I don’t agree with their wardrobe choices).

I think Carman Lee is by far the most well-accepted as Xiao Long Nv, and also my favorite.
Liu Yi Fei looks very beautiful in ancient costumes, but of course, we all don’t have to agree on this. Lol. 🙂

Yes! I don’t get the hype over LYF. The best XLN? I would take Carman and Idy any day. I read from many that LYF looked the part, which is subjective. She may look “beautiful” in ancient costumes, but her acting is far from others. Carman nailed her performance!

Haha literally just saw this after I wrote the same thing about LYF

I used to think like you, like why is she so hyped? Her looks are average??? But now, the more I look at her the more beautiful she gets, hehe.

Her makeup her doesn’t do her justice. It looks caked on…I really think she’s much prettier with light makeup.

NiNi and Liu Yifei looks amazing!!! I love their dresses! NiNi looks like a goddess, elegant and pretty~

How come we never get an invite? We can rock that red carpet just like they do. Nyehahaha ?✌

Do Chinese actresses actually get much attention from the world press? Didn’t see any of their red carpet pics in American entertainment news.

Ni Ni and Sandra look gorgeous! NiNi is absolutely stunning, and Sandra’s “dress pants” (haha) is elegant and looks really good. Especially like the waist-up portion, with the halter-ish-collar and the low back.
I think I really like their features. Like, they both have wider features than Liu Yi Fei. They’ve got the long narrow “phoenix” eyes, the wide smile, the stronger jaw. It creates this more triangular effect where their features are more spread out to the sides. Idk I really like it.
I think LYF tends to look so good in period dress, cuz she’s got the small centralized features. Her face is practically perfectly oval, shorter-almond-shaped-eyes (as opposed to NiNi’s (and Sandra) gorgeous “feng yan”). Her features are just really centralized and in line with each other, where as NiNi and Sandra have the more triangular effect. Personally I think NiNi and Sandra look best here.

Anyone who’s actually finished the Dao Mu Bi Ji series, which book is this? I’ve only ever gotten up to half-way thru book 2. I mean, this isn’t underwater, so book 2 is prob not it, nor book 1. But some parts with the white-faced female ghost and the woman in the casket-looking-thing with the slugs/worm-things look almost like parts of book 2.

I finished it and honestly, I don’t recognise any of the scenes in there, a totally different story from 盗墓笔记. I think I saw those ‘bird-like’ armored statues (I think, that part wasn’t very clear), the 蝎子 and 粽子, which all appeared in the novel but the trailer started with ‘An Emperor aspiring for world domination 3000 years ago’ which I think, if I still remember correctly, wasn’t in the book at all. So I think the movie is just making use of the novel’s characters and background lol…
Which sucks for 原著党 like me, hate it when they do this.. UGH
And I just wanna say, 鹿晗 and 井宝 don’t fit the image of the main characters in the trailer 🙁 I was kinda looking forward to 井宝’s 小哥 but that image in the trailer… and the sword he was holding, too modern lol..

Have to really see the whole movie to know which part of the novel did they try to adapt because I don’t recognise the scenes and some of the characters inside. But for the movie, they would either just maybe take out a little of something from each series, or totally change the plot from one of the series, or just throw in a whole new plot (which I think is the most possible one).

I read the entire novels too and I have no idea what’s going on in that trailer, LOL. The only thing I find familiar is those bugs, what the hell?
Okay, now that i have watched the trailer, Jing Boran does not give a good vibe of Xiao Ge at all. I was still holding back when i saw the stills but this… er…… what was that ninja jutsu pose he did?
Luckily I didn’t have high hopes in the beginning because of what they did to the LYF/YY’s version of Daomu, but I will still catch it so I can 吐槽, hahahahaha.

Wow I absolutely adore Wang Zhi’s gown and Ni Ni always looks so effortlessly beautiful. Unpopular opinion but I’ve never found Liu Yi Fei pretty.

NiNi, LYF look great, and that swag on Gong Li makes me laugh, hahaha. Ahh poor Daomu team, they flew all the way there but didn’t make it to the event…
Johnny’s appearance was also quite controversial?? His fans or team made it seem like he was some big shot, which didn’t really sit well with the general public ): I really like him but I hope he starts picking up projects instead of just raking money with his current popularity doing magazine shoots and events like this…

Liu YiFei is what I call the classic Chinese beauty. The rest just pales in comparison! She looks like she’d gained some weight. Good! Life with her oppa must be great eh? 😉 I hope the breakup rumors are not true… 🙁
