All is not lost because she meets a cunning mentor along the way and he guides her to become an exemplary member of the Party.

From that little snippet this drama seems like another Disguiser type drama but centered on a girl instead. I’m suspecting some romance to blossom between Lu Yi and ZLY’s characters.

I like that it’s focused on the girls, so many times, these types of dramas are focused on the boys. And Li Ying is ambitious, her main works are about the heroine, while she does sideline roles in smaller scaled projects. ;D

I like to see girl-centered stories too cuz there are too many sausage fests and not enough good stories about us ladies.
Which is why I got so pissed off about Ode to Joy cuz of its utter waste of a good female cast and is so inherently sexist and classist that it’s offensive on every level but let’s not go into another rant about that here LOL

Totally agree. I recently saw The Rise of The Tomboy and I like that ZLY always makes her female heroine rootable and understandable as to why 2 men would fight over her. Also that you can be smart and feminine at the same time. A rom com nevertheless but a pretty good one. Or it could just be my ZLY bias 🙂
