Press Conferences: Elvis Han’s Siege in Fog and Leo Wu’s Magic Star

Everyone is having press conferences this week for their show. Grouping these two press conferences together since they were closer in dates. Yes. An excuse to post all the pretty boys in one post. HEH.

More to come ~

Up first is fantasy drama The Magic Star (奇星记) led by Leo Wu Lei and Chen Xiang, along with Zhang Yu Xi, Zheng He Hui Zi, and Steven Hao. This is like the reunion of child stars all in one project. Leo is taller than Chen Xiang now! Burrr. Set in the Song Dynasty, the story follows 5 key players as they search for the magic star existed in legends – one that can bring peace and order back to the chaotic world they have come to know. Leo Wu plays a brave but careless young teenager, not knowing he is half demon until his powers are activated. Chen Xiang is a kind, self-sacrificing royal member who hides his innermost thoughts deep down. WHAT? Dude, I’m gonna kill you! Our female lead is hot-tempered and stubborn, but joining the team helps her turn her rashness around. Second female lead is the doctor of the group – gentle and wise. Steven rounds out the cast as a young, sincere man who loves to cook and eat.

Directed by Huang Zu Quan (Legendary Swordsman 2004, Xin Xiao Shi Yi Lang), filming began in early January and plans to run for 30 episodes.

You little heart-breaker! Magic Star is the first project he chose without seeking advice from his family. He read the script, liked it, and accepted it all without them knowing. During the press conference, when teased who is more handsome between him and Hu Ge, he answers wittily, “Of course it’s Hu Ge gege, both inside and outside.” Aww. You little fanboy! But he adds that in the future, instead of looks, he would like to be compared with Hu Ge gege in terms of acting. Great response.

Second is the drama adaptation of Fei Wo Si Cun’s Seige in Fog (迷雾围城) with OTP in Elvis Han (Wu Xin The Monster Killer) and Sun Yi (Fifteen Years of Waiting for Migratory Birds). The story follows arrogant third master (Elvis) of a powerful family falling in love at first sight with a pretty young maiden (Sun Yi) and uses every means possible to force her hand in marriage, despite her harboring a crush on another man (Jeremy Tsui). In the beginning of a coerced marriage, she resents him and rejects all his advances and gestures of love, but their love story slowly develops after going through obstacles in times of war and chaos. However, things get interesting/complicated when her old flame returns to become her husband’s assistant. Ruh Roh!

To be honest, I’m not fond of Fei’s novels and her love stories but then they have to cast these two as leads. T____T. What to do?!

Directed by Lai Shui Ching (The Magic Blade, The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils) and He Shu Pei (Legend of Fragrance, Liu Shan Men), and written by Guo Bao Xian (Sealed With A Kiss, A Clear Midsummer Night), Siege in Fog has no decided number of episodes yet.

Guys should never ever have fringes/man-bangs for historial dramas. They look ugly af.

Wow, Leo is growing up fast and it looks like he’s super busy. Hope he still has time to have a normal teenage life.

I can’t keep up with all these novel adaptations. Fei Wo Si Cun’s especially. Any idea if they’re still going to do Eastern Palace?

Last I heard, it’s postponed. Maybe by the time, they start up again, I can have Li Ying and Tian Yu together…

Is it just me or do a lot of chinese actresses look like they’ve had plastic surgery? Especially Zhang Yuxi, doesn’t look natural

lol… that statement can be applied to a lot of actresses from other countries too, right?

but she started out winning the cover girl for her beauty and then became a model, before going into acting. if i have to pick, it’s probably her nose…but then again, no rumors of PS for her yet… so that’s good. she looks mixed too.

man i love how elvis and sun yi look together in costumes but im not feeling the forced marriage storyline. why are Fei’s novels so popular??!!!

all leading males should not be standing next to leo….that kid grows up so well! *so handsome*

steven hao playing a guy who likes to eat? omg. cmon! let him break free of that image!!
