Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

The big day is here for them. Nicky Wu and his ladylove Liu Shi Shi hold their wedding ceremony on the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali. Not as astronomical as other wedding ceremonies, but it fits my picture flawlessly. It’s simple, romantic, and intimate. 🙂

Bu Bu Jing Xin‘s royal couple finally has a happy ending!

The pre-wedding party held last night. I usually don’t like add-on flowers, but Shi Shi looks utterly cute with them.

The perfect wedding! One do not need to splurge billions for the perfect wedding!
    What’s your perfect/dream wedding, ladies?
Mine was a private ceremony with two witnesses, the celebrant and our immediate family in a small chapel up in the hill and surrounded with tall trees. I imagined the chapel to be ceiling to floor glass with solid wood beams – a combination of modern and rustic. 🙂

Instead, my real wedding turned into a 800 pax affair – big traditional church, buffet lunch after and at night, big Chinese dinner. We did the tea ceremony the night before in a hotel with family members (around 50 of them). We had our wedding dinner three times in Aus, Msia and HK to accommodate everyone! I lost count how many dresses I changed into! We ended up going for a quick honeymoon in Japan after the HK dinner. It was waaayyy too big and busy for us. It deviated from our little private affair due to requests from my parents and his to include everyone including their business partners. It was tiring and very impersonal affair for me coz I ended up smiling and doing lots of ‘yum sengs’ with literal strangers. I think my parents were demanding for my wedding because I am the eldest child and both my hubby and I come from notable families. Later, when my younger siblings married, theirs were not as lavish as mine and I really envy their weddings. My youngest sister married in an Aus mount resort in a small (around 50 guests only), no fuss and romantic ceremony. She and her hubby toured the entire Europe for their honeymoon. She got the dream wedding I wanted! I think she STOLE my idea!!! 🙁

I’m a very private person as well. If and when I do have a wedding, I hope it’s just us two. Lol. I haven’t really thought much about the subject since for now, I prefer a solitary life. XD

You sure had massive and busy wedding ceremonies, Aryael! But I’m sure you make up for the time by traveling a lot nowadays, from the stories you tell us!

We eldest kids really do bear a lot of the burdens and wishes from the elders!

      • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Thank you for the nice pics & music.

Am I the only weird one? I’ve always thought a blissful marriage trumps almost everything else, although a memorable & great wedding is certainly at least as good as the icing on the cake.

Life is full of challenges. Having that special someone next to you, helping each other make life easier for both of you, truly care about each other. They seem close to being the top few greatest things to me….

Perhaps most people have a great deal more energy than I do, so they can spend a great amount of energy on all sorts of things including parties etc. I’m not blessed with that much energy, so I have to choose carefully. 🙂

Aryael, why don’t you grab hubby for a trip to EU now? Good luck!
I’m curious. Is LSS’ mom a super tiger mom? Yrs ago, I saw an LSS TV interview where she broke down and cried, saying something like mom was so demanding, but it’s all for LSS’ own good. The TV show mentioned how LSS was a trained ballet dancer, I think. Sounds like mom wanted her to be super high-achieving.

Tang Yan & Yang Mi are supposed to be close friends? and they didn’t attend this event bc…..?

      • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Yeah, Kappy. I used to travel a lot for work, but traveling for work is different to traveling for holidays. I was so used to planes, airports, hotels and conference rooms that I don’t really get to see much of the country when I travel for work. Although I’ve been to many countries for work, I cannot say that I’ve actually BEEN to those countries! Now that I’m retired, I just want to spend my days with my hubby, cooking, baking, entertaining and catching up with friends and families, enjoying my grandchildren, watching dramas and movies, reading books, listening to music, playing music and doing yoga. Traveling is far from my mind at the moment! >_<

Dear, GV, I wish I can travel to EU with hubby but we are not too keen now given the political situation there at the moment and because Aus to EU is a very long flight for us oldies! Somethings once missed, you miss it for life but it is not really that important for us now. Like you said, the marriage far outweighs the wedding and I am glad that my hubby and I have been together for almost 40 years now and still going strong! If anything, retirement helped us to reconnect with each other and fall in love all over again! 🙂

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

As long as you’re happy and content, no need to travel far Aryael! =)

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Dear Aryael, My spouse, L, told me this once. L fantasizes about doing a virtual trip. Play the music for country X, watch country X’s travel videos, eat X’s regional foods, sweets, drinks etc. Silly as that sounds, perhaps you could give it a try? It may be amusing.

Yes, Oz does feel far from a lot of places. Most people first fly to Singapore it seems?

I’m glad to hear you are blessed w a great guy and marriage! idk if this makes you feel better. I’m the youngest child in my family. My parents (P) are not well-to-do, but perhaps good enough for their city. Across the world from me. P learned from my eldest sibling’s wedding experience. P’s biz acquaintances complained they got left out from sibling’s wedding. By the time it was my turn, P invited everyone they could think of. All I could say was that I hope P enjoyed it. It was really tedious and ..sigh.. No one warned me before about the wedding day. People kept me up chatting the night before. Suddenly at 3-4 am, people came to wake me up for the wedding. And I had to fly across the world to be there. I had 2 friends coming to my wedding. I saw them for 2 minutes. Had no idea where they sat. I was just in the city to be the physical body that fulfilled ritual, family, neighborhood/city, event etc. requirements. Good thing we were in good health.

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

I can totally relate to your experience, akg. The traveling and ‘social’ just for the sake of keeping up appearances! And I didn’t get to catch up with my close friends either! Yes, akg. We do prefer to transit in Singapore if we must travel nowadays. We used to take MAS but ever since the 2 MAS planes’ incident, everyone’s going either SIA, Qantas or Emirates! Depending on where you are heading, the Korean, Japanese and Chinese airlines are pretty good as well.

Yes, Kappy, as long as happy, no need to travel far. At my age, just want peace and health. Hopefully can be around to see our grandchildren grow into adulthood. 🙂 Also hope things around the world get better and that the future generation do not have to suffer through war and terror. Sometimes, we do worry about the world we are leaving for the future generation. During our times, we survived war and post-war and thought that people would get smarter and avoid wars but now it seems, history is repeating itself again. People never learn! 🙁

I assume most ppl here are from the U.S? How’s security like in the U.S.? That’s another country we have been avoiding going, unless work demanded it. I earlier mentioned about not traveling to the EU because of it not being safe anymore and recently the Brussels thing happened. What kind of world we are living in now? *sigh*

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

US security is actually pretty thorough compared to most parts of the world. But it’s slow. Much slower than HK. Singapore. A bit slower than China. But it was faster than Sydney & Melbourne when I was in Oz. However, US has a lot more big cities than Oz. From NY, Boston, down to Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Chicago, Denver, to LA etc. So US security does vary by region as well. Even different terminals of a city like LAX can have differing level of security.
I do find the color of your skin still matters when you travel. Unfortunately. I get hassled quite a bit coming out of direct flights from China although I never lived in China. US customs don’t like Chinese visitors bringing in food items. In Europe, I had a lot of trouble with Lufthansa airlines. Especially the biz class. I was the only Asian sitting in the entire biz class. The service was super rude and non-existence. Even the gentleman from Turin seated next to me shook his head repeatedly when the flight attendants kept skipping me when they gave out water, bread, and even loaner pens to fill immigration forms. Fortunately the Turin gentleman shared his water with me.

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Random note but that’s incredibly racist what they did. I sure hope you pursued the matter with Lufthansa or at least reflected on your experience. And you were in business class too. Lufthansa is supposedly a world class airline with some of the best service but that’s disappointing to hear. I would like to think they don’t find that kind of service acceptable either nor representative of the reputation of their airline + its staff.

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

@ ak: thanks for sharing your experience. Haven’t traveled with Lufthansa but if being so shamefully racist is the norm then I’ll stay far away from that airline

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

@ ak: I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience. Nothing is worse than paying for something expensive and then having those people treat you badly

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Just a follow-up note. I did actually write Lufthansa a physical letter, complaining about the incidents on my flight from Frankfurt to US. That was the only time I ever wrote a complaint letter to a company. About 3 months letter, I received a letter from Lufthansa, denying such a thing could have ever happened. I avoid Lufthansa as much as possible, but I did have to take it again once when I went to eastern Europe bc there were no other reasonable options for that city. In retrospect, I should have informed my employer’s travel department. The flight attendants never helped me hang my suit jacket in the closet at the very front of the biz class section like they did with everyone else. So I left my suit jacket on top of my seat behind my head. (It doesn’t wrinkle easily. Plus that was the end of my trip. It was going to the cleaners after the flight). My seat was right in front of the bathroom. I doze off during the flight. When I woke up, I saw my suit jacket on the aisle floor outside the bathroom and had been trampled on by foot traffic. That was the Lufthansa service I had to put up with. So charming, wouldn’t you say?

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

@ ak: I’m so sorry to hear about how abominably you’ve been treated! *HUGS* It’s so wrong! Urgh I feel angry on your behalf. What a Goddamn disgrace of an airline. Blacklisting forever OMG.

To think they didn’t even believe you when you wrote them a proper letter! I’m sad to hear that you had to travel with them again (how unfortunate). I would’ve recorded a phone video or something and then post it online, title it with something like “Most horrible / disgraceful / racist airline” or something and then wait for the vid to go viral like all those racism videos usually do. See how those Neo-Nazis try to deny it then.

But then again, knowing how fucking racist the world is with deep-rooted white supremacist ideals, you can bet there’ll be racist assholes siding with the Neo-Nazi airline instead.

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

There is value in moving on and focus on positive things in life, but at the same time, one should learn and maximize the probability of having a good travel experience. 😉 Generally, traveling in EU seemed trickier (compared to Asia, coastal US, Oz, ..) for people with certain skin color. I spent a summer in the Cotswolds area of England. In short, it was just like Lufthansa. The worst was being approached by 3 school boys with angelic, youthful voice when I was reading a book under a tree. They inquired with me whether I would provide XXX services. I can’t even mention those things here. I dreaded walking around on my own for 2 weeks after that experience. I understood then why Leslie Cheung, Lawrence Ng, and the other celebs expressed difficulties living in England previously. London area has made a lot of progress. But the countryside… (omg.) And I was reading outside bc the “cleaning” crew was very rude to me. They insisted that people who are from my country of citizenship tend to be lazy, unlike Brits. I just wanted to avoid having to encounter them again in my cottage on their weekly “cleaning” routine. The previous time when they came “cleaning”, they took our slightly used blanket and gave it to the neighboring cottage without asking. Our neighbor was feeling cold at night. I hope they washed it before they gave it to our neighbor. I have only seen them “cleaned” the kitchen; wiped the kitchen counter with a cloth. That was it for the whole cottage. I didn’t go to Bristol myself, but several people have mentioned particularly bad experience there to me. BTW, I never had problems with EU whenever I traveled with a White person. I am baffled at some things that seem like possible White-worshipping in some Mainland series. In most Republican series, lead OTP always have to go to church together. At least one of them should play the piano. They all wear Western outfits. My parents made sure I have proper classical European piano training. They never lived in EU.
You know… the more they discriminate against Asians, the harder the Asians work. The more successful the Asians are abroad. So at the end, who loses? They should ponder that question…..

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

At least if Mainland etc. producers and actors do Western-themed scenes, at least get the scenes right. Not Joe Chen playing the piano at the club with gloves in Cruel Romance. Or Li Yi Feng etc. shoot guns next to their leading actress’ ears in Legend of Fragrance. Facepalm. Just bc the directors/producers/actors think a scene looks cool, it doesn’t mean that they should put the scene in. They need to learn to engage the brain.. What would they have Joe Chen do, if they want her to portray a brain surgeon in a series?

        • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

@ ak: *SIGH* It’s depressing but the sad fact is that the world doesn’t treat people of color very kindly. Throughout history and even today, people of color always get the worse deal while white people reign supreme with their white privilege. Even worse if you happen to be female because women of color are on the bottom of the social ladder and the world always favors cis white males.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been harassed by those awful guys (typical white male behavior) and those awful cleaners. I have friends and family who left England for good because of the discrimination and harassment they get treated with everyday. Unfortunately it’s like that throughout all Western countries (as long as the population is dominated by white people). I get what you mean when you say the treatment is totally different when accompanied by a white person, which is something I’ve experienced a lot.

Totally agree with you about getting scenes right in dramas/film. I know movies are not real but at least they should try to make it look less fake!

I agree with you about the white-worshiping. It bugs me to no end because it’s like internalized racism where people of color feel the need to be as “white” as possible due to all the white supremacist ideals that society perpetuates.

Well… Generally, England is not widely noted for its spectacular service in their food and hospitality industries, though one can usually find decent service at Indian, other Asian restaurants, etc. At the end of the day, I focus on doing my own job well and treat people with respect. I don’t quibble with flight attendants and cleaning staff. Or creepy, foul-mouthed school kids. When all is said and done, I’m not the one cleaning floors etc. It is an appalling failure on their part to accept Asian customers’ monetary payments and then mistreat their Asian customers. We didn’t pay for discounted, second-rate services. Who knows when Lufthansa and the others will have the decency to reflect on their discriminatory practices. They have not refused Asian money so far… They love taking the money, but not as happy about providing appropriate service. Fortunately my flight didn’t have any flight/safety emergency. My survival probability is likely low in any emergency given how they favor the other passengers of a particular skin color. I’m assuming some of their sour behavior comes from their discontent for not doing economically better than immigrants and such. Despite the fact that immigrants tend to face more challenges, such as picking up 3rd, 4th, sometimes 5th languages, adjust to / learn local culture and customs, learn a lot of new things in a foreign language, etc. It’s not our problem to fix them and turn them into decent human beings. For us, living a good and successful life is a good way to live. Keep eyes open while traveling. Avoid potential future travel problems when making travel plans. 🙂

A clip of Wallace Huo’s teasing the couple.

Basically, in the beginning he is saying how Shi Shi is the girl he collaborated with the most and how he only worked with Long Ge once but they became good friends very quickly, their friendship just a little behind the one he shared with Hu Ge. He also mentions how he didn’t know the two were dating when he guest starred in Incisive Great Teacher, Lol. When he visited them on set later on, he whispered to Nicky, “How come you loved her in every collaboration? Does it not bother you?” (best I could think of for translation). Later when they revealed their dating status, Wallace felt like an idiot for that statement. HAHA XD

Just when they thought he’s done (after hugging the pair), he wants to ask Shi Shi one more question. At this point, Nicky wants to stop Wallace. LOL! “When we filmed [intimate] scenes together, did you always imagine Nicky’s face on mine?” *jumps around like a bunny*

The video cuts it off, but from what I read, Shi Shi replies, “Of course not, I’m very serious in work.”

How I wish they kept him going. XD

Hu Ge’s father suffers from bone fx and therefore he couldn’t attend.

I was looking around for this video!!!!! I saw this floating around on weibo but couldn’t find a video of it! THANKS SOBS!!! Wallace Huo is just so freaking cute hahaha! The caveman that doesn’t have an SNS kekeke! Adorbs at his speech hahaha!!

    • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

I was wondering about Hu Ge’s absence…Lol. The Little Tiger trio is reunited, but the ex-Tangren-bff-trio were noticeably missing one. So happy for Shi Shi and Nicky! They look so happy and sweet together! I also think Shi Shi’s been absolutely stunning through all the pics, but I have to say my fav is her last look at the dinner celebration. Gorgeous. Her mom’s beautiful too! Personally, I love Nicky, but I’ve never thought he was as hot or good-looking as other people might have thought. But here, in every one of the pics, he looked absolutely great and amazing. So happy for them. They look genuinely so happy and in love. I think they’re really gonna last, so maybe Nicky can put the painful stuff behind him; maybe like he said, he’s just been waiting for Shi Shi all along. So romantic.

Lol at Wallace. So cute. I would totally respect if they want to keep things more private, but I really hope they release more bts stuff. A party with those people would prob be an absolute riot. They must have so many hilarious stories to share. Like some weddings, like with HXM and ABB, have people who seem the more serious sort. But with that combo or people and just how relaxed Shi Shi and Nicky are naturally, man that celebration must have been so fun.

      • 46 thoughts on “Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Yep, the red gown is my favorite too. Sexy (slit back) but very demure and elegant. I’m snooping around to see what else they have BTS. XD

Aww. Everything about the wedding was so lovely. I love that they play those games on the groom and the groomsmen before they were allow to see the bride .

This is definitely my favorite celeb wedding — in my book way better than the others we’ve had recently.

Do others find it odd…or understandable that the “8 prince sect” is missing except for 13 prince, who was really more of a Ruoxi friend anyhow? I wonder if their real life friendships were affected by how they had to act with each other on set — it must have, right? I.e., they never shared light hearted scenes with the other camp, so they never became friends? Because seriously, no 1st 8 wife, no 13 wife — the two girls who were enemies of Ruoxi. And no 8th prince or 9th prince or 14th prince!

I’m surprised that Shi Shi doesn’t have more girlfriends. Maybe her friends are all non-celebs and woudln’t have wanted to be outed at a public wedding like this? Yang Mi and Tang Yan both couldn’t make it, and I thought the three of them used to be pretty close…

Kappy — if you ever find the full MV for their love duet, can you post that? I really want to see it!

I think Liu shishi and yang MI had a falling out. I don’t know why. I think due to Tang ten. But they used to be super super close. It’s sad. Louis shushing did not attend yang MI’s wedding either and Tang yan was maid of honor.

Omg Congratulations to Nicky & Shishi !!!! Sooo happy that 4th prince & RX had a real life happy ending! May I add that LSS has always been beautiful to me but she absolutely took my breath away in these pictures. Clearly she got her good looks from her mother who’s no doubt beautiful, especially for her age.

This wedding is absolutely gorgeous and I have to agree that it’s very simple compared to other celeb weddings in the year yet this is by far my favorite, and with much more “taste”. Personally was not a fan of HXM & AB’s wedding that was just all “glam” but had that “wedding of the century” feel and not in the good way.

Loved Hua Ge’s speeech!! If only Hu Ge was able to make it toooo

Like many, I think this wedding is by far my favorite from all the recent celebs wedding ceremonies. I love how simple it is. And it stays true to the Chinese traditional wedding ceremony with a touch of modernism. I love the idea of outside wedding too, especially when you have that kind of view and location it’s a shame if they didn’t use it. The alter is breathtaking. I want something like that for my future wedding too. And the atmosphere seems fun and warm just basing on the pics and videos lol. I’m happy for them. Both look genuinely happy and beautiful/handsome.
