I’m sure most of us who grew up with Chinese films and dramas would know the story of Xuan Zang, mostly from the various adaptations of Journey to the West. Xuan Zang is a Chinese-Indian film following the seventeen-year journey of Xuan Zang as he gathered and translated many Indian Buddhist texts to Chinese during the Tang Dynasty. Playing the titular role is Huang Xiao Ming and joining him, friends and foes, are Luo Jin, Kent Tong, and Purba Rgyal.

Everytime I see Purba Rgyal on screen I can’t help but think of Leehom every few minutes lol. Just like Aarif Lee, if I look at these 2 guys up close for long enough I can definitely discern them from Leehom. But if just watching them pass by back and forth on screen, my mind drifts to Leehom by itself involuntarily. It’s crazy XD

Lol… Me too, those three can play triplets convincingly. How come no one thought of that?
The posters look so nice for this!!

Leehom invited Purba Rgyal as an opening act in one of his 2008 concerts. Aarif and Leehom have mutual friends like Jackie Chan, Lin Zhiling, Jeremy Lin. Maybe that could lead to both of them in a meetup. Would love to see the three of them together on stage or on the screen!

Aarif is my favorite. He’s very adorable and charming as the luggage boy in Sisters over Flowers. ♥♥♥

It’s “documenting” the arduous, epic mission and life-goal of a great man. I really hope HXM gets to hone and improve his acting from this, since it’s a far cry from his usual roles. The closest character I can think of was his playing Yue Fei, which was pretty decent. But as a monk, he’s not going to have the physical scenes, and he’ll have to really solely on his acting skills to carry the character.
But if it goes well, this looks like it would be amazing. Sidenote, Lou Jia Yue looks beautiful.
