First stills for Chen Xiao, Ivy Chen’s Mr. Delicious Miss Match

Aww, they look really cute (still can’t believe Ivy Chen is 33!) But I don’t think Chen Xiao has much luck with modern dramas, seeing how his previous two – Love & Life & Lie and Above the Clouds are yet to be released. Maybe third time the charm? Mr. Delicious Miss Match (火柴小姐和美味先生) is a modern drama about… cooking! Yay! A different subject! Filming started in late December and wrapped up a few days ago, dropping some official stills.

The synopsis sounds decent: Chen Xiao plays a talented chef, with his keep ability to distinguish and list off all the ingredient in every dish he’s eaten. While he’s strict and requires the best quality in his food, his handsome chef image is only a means to achieve his revenge plan. Only when he meets the heroine (Ivy Chen) that he realizes the good in him, allowing himself to be mischievous and relaxed. She’s described as frank, impulsive but provides warmth and kindness. With her keen sense of smell, unrivaled by anyone else, her dream is to travel and taste all the delicacies around the world, against her dad’s wishes – he wants her to take over the family’s rice shop. One day, dad accepts a star recruit in the form of our hero. She shares a connection with him through their love for good food – she loves to eat, he loves to cook. At some point in the story, the hero loses his sense of taste, and she stays beside his dejected self, making way for their sweet romance down the line.

Chen Xiao looks 100% handsome in here. *swoons* A man in a chef uniform? HELL TO THE YEA!

Ivy Chen is, with Gui Gui, two actresses that I can’t stand well in dramas. Like they have super nice personality in real life and are super cute in variety shows, but in dramas, they always over act… Just based on the stills, I can feel the overdose of “kawai/aegyo”. Chen Xiao looks super good though! 😀

It’s been a long time since I watched Ivy Chen in a drama, so the only thing that’s troublesome is the pouting. About Gui Gui, I just love her so much! I think what she needs is less girly girl roles and more mature roles.

Yes hope so. Hope both of them can play more mature roles because I like them as entertainers and really wish I could enjoy their acting too 😀

Thank you, Kap! Didn’t Chen Xiao’s 3rd contemporary series broadcast recently? A school drama, “Who Sleeps My Bro”. (The Brother Who Sleeps on the Bunk Bed Above Me?) I didn’t watch it. I have similar taste to Woda when it comes to Ivy & Gui. Pics above show very generous pouting. Ivy was ok in the movie “Hear Me”, but it has been a long time. I don’t remember well.

I think she meant in terms of TV dramas, one that airs on TV. Who sleeps the bro is a webdrama. Dont know why Ivy has been pouting more recently. She wasnt like this when she started out. Gui Gui I like, even though her personality can be a bit much sometimes. Like… Very childish, not in a bad way, just not very mature.

i never thought of chen xiao as a handsome man until i watched him on Go Fridge ep 2, lols. he was sooooo damn fine and calm. no wonder he falls head over heals with Michelle cuz i guess they share the same ‘coolness’ haha.

while for ivy, aaahh, this jie looks soo young. 33y.o???? if i walk with her, perhaps people will regard her as my lil sister instead of a jie haha… since she’s also not tall, right? under 160cm i guess.

nothing new with this kind of story. i’ve watched so many dramas with the same theme and genre, with the characters almost the same, cool guy and cheerful girl… but i hope, there’s something new to watch in this drama. cuz chen xiao is just so damn fine… haha.

This drama looks cute. I need something cute and fluffy in my life, somehow all the cdramas I’m watching lately are so damn depressing and sad. Is this a trend or something or have I missed out on all the goodies?

Both Gui Gui and Ivy Chen are idol actresses to me where all I can see from them are cutesy role. However, I thought Ivy did quite well in that one drama with Vic Zhou back in the days, Black and White or something like that?? Not actress award winning, but decent.

With Gui Gui I just adore her, whether her acting is good or not lol.

Looks cute! I agree with Kim. Ivy’s def an idol actress for me, but honestly I agree that it mostly has to do with the roles and characters she keeps choosing. My first impression of her was from Black and White with Vic and Mark (and Janine and Sonia too I think), and I thought she was pretty awesome. I really liked her starting from there. I don’t generally watch her works because they’re not usually my taste (she did do a drama ver. Tiny Times with minor Yang Yang and Li Yi Feng…lol..that I skimmed through and dropped), but from Black and White, I think she could do well if it wasn’t for the continuous cute-innocent-hyper-bunny girl that she always chooses to act as. Actually…aside from black and white, I also first remember her from the TW movie Hear Me. Her acting isn’t anything particularly diff from her typical Ivy roles, but it’s a pretty nice movie.

Anyways. The drama looks nice. I like her dad. He generally plays a lot of TW-drama-awesome-dad roles.
