Interesting collaboration between these three actors! A new war drama, tentatively called The Advisors Alliance (or Great strategist Sima Yi 军师联盟), is in the making, this time focusing on the legacy left behind by general Sima Yi (Wu Xiu Bo), often portrayed as the rival and villain in the story against Zhuge Liang from the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. He starts out as a timid scholar and slowly morphs into a conniving politician. TVB made a silly time-travel adaptation back in 2012 where Kenneth travels back in time with the name Szema Shun against Raymond Lam’s Zhuge Liang. I had a few laughs from that drama. Lol.
Liu Tao will play Sima’s wife, Zhang Chun Hua, well-known as a “prominent politician, general and regent of the state of Cao Wei.” YES! A smart woman is what I like! Pictures of her from the New Year performance.
Janine Chang will play a woman with an ambitious heart Bai Yu Lian.
Tina Tang will play the Queen from Wei State. Ermm…Isn’t she quite young for the role?
Jerry Li Chen as the first Emperor of the state of Cao Wei, Cao Pi, second son of Cao Cao.
The Advisors Alliance is directed by Zhang Yong Xin (Bang Jia Dui Men Gou, Water Margin Boys) and written by Zheng Wan Long with a sketch of 50 episodes. Booting ceremony takes place 2/13/16.

This looks very, very interesting! I know Sima Yi has often been portrayed as a rather evil figure, except perhaps in the 3 Kingdoms 2010. I think he’s an intriguing character, and I am glad that there will be a drama which will hopefully give us a more thorough picture of this brilliant man.
This is the first time I read about his wife. It’s interesting that both he and Zhuge Liang picked supposedly intelligent women as their wives. Too bad the 2010 Three Kingdoms prefers to show the fictional concubine (as much as I love the drama, it’s pretty misogynistic) as opposed to the accomplished wife. I hope this new drama gives justice to this lady, developing her scenes more like Xia Dong than Ni Huang.
Do you have more description on Janine’s role? It’s rather vague. I’ve only seen Janine in a couple of dramas, and didn’t like the characters she was playing. I actually liked her spunky character in The Four in the beginning, but grew to hate her because she became wimpy after officially becoming a couple with Zhang Han’s character (sadly, the case with the majority of C-dramas these days).

smart men will choose smart women! im so glad we have that in history.
they are still pretty vague with the character description. baidu has nothing for her character. lol. but if i’m correct in my future vision, she will be given to sima as a gift from cao cao. hahahha so typical in this type of drama. according to wiki, sima does favor a certain concubine later in life too. just my guess.
wu xiu bo is so much older though… huhuu i like my leads close in age….
