    I agree with chasingpolaris I actually liked this ending cus it really fits with the whole vibe of the drama. I mean hey they got to meet each other in the afterlife so it was a happy ending. Everything else was sort of nonsense but that what the whole drama was about.

    is this a good dram?? all i remember after reading the summary is a playboy trapped in a princess’ body in different era and s(he) falls for the king (prince)/hubby.. wow… so it’s like… boys love? yaoi??

      This is a so bad its good kind of drama. Its strangely addicting even if you don’t understand the language. But not really BL cus the lead struggles with accepting her new female body/identity and when she does that’s when she accepts her husband’s love. In the book this is based on an important aspect they left out is that the lead is originally suppose to be in a female body but was put into a male body in the present time by mistake of a god thus the god tries to correct this by putting her in the body she was originally suppose to be born in.

    If I’m the writer for this drama (by the way, I am a writer myself!), the ending I would go for to nicely tie up all loose ends is:-

    Zhang Peng Peng and Qi Sheng died in a sneak attack planned by their political opponents. The entire royal family (including the children) were murdered, heralding a new dynasty. (This follows the ending in the novel).

    Zhang Peng woke up in the hospital and panicked when s/he realized that s/he was transported back to modern times after Peng Peng’s death. In his/her disorientated state, Zhang Peng stumbled out of his/her hospital room shouting for Qi Sheng. S/he was restrained by nurses while a doctor injected him/her with a sedative to calm him/her down. Before losing consciousness, Zhang Peng saw a silhouette approaching him/her and s/he whispered ‘Qi Sheng…’

    Zhang Peng slowly woke up in the hospital room when the sedative wore off. The silhouette s/he saw before losing consciousness turned out to be the lady who was pursuing him at the party – the woman who was sent by his jilted ex to teach him a lesson. The woman did not look very impressed with him and warned him that he could not escape now that he’s in her clutches. She told him that she planned to punish him for his philandering ways because the woman he jilted was her best friend. For some unknown reason, there is something familiar about the woman – from her cold stare, expressionless face and calm manner of talking while all the while plotting revenge for her best friend. Zhang Peng remembered how it was that same cold stare that had surprised him before he accidentally bumped into a party guest, lost his balance, fell into the pool and ended up in Zhang Peng Peng’s body.

    At the end of Zhang Peng’s flashback to the accident at the pool party, another woman entered the room – one from the three who pursued him at the party. The newcomer cheerily greeted the woman in the room, ” Has our captive awoken, Qi She?”

    Shocked, Zhang Peng stared at the woman. No wonder she felt familiar!

    The woman named Qi She met his stare with her own and replied, “Indeed he has…”

    End credits roll.

    If it ends this way, it will be a happy ending that ties in nicely with what happened in Ep. 1 itself and if they still want to cash in on this franchise, the open ending will provide an opportunity for Go Princess Go 2 (which I highly discourage! But Chinese entertainment business being what they are….they would probably milk this cow dry!). 🙂

    I am not even upset at the’ what the fuckery just went down’ train of trajectory of this third ending. I was rather giddy to see all the elements that made GPG so attractive and addictive to watch and obsess/enjoy in the first place. I did hope for further closure, but is fine and had fun with this third ending. Man that opening scene was something though, but that just goes again to how the production makes low budgeting to its advantage.

      The opening scene elements is very similar to the MV to the duet version of the themesong. As expected from the director. 🙂
