Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

I seriously thought this drama came out already and just a few days ago, we have another unofficial trailer floating around the net. Still sitting pretty on that shelf, I see. Can we please release these darn shelved dramas already?! My best translation of the Chinese title (缘来幸福) is Fate Leads To Happiness in English or Yuan Lai Xing Fu in Pinyin. The story in a nutshell: two brothers clashing in both love and work (what else is new?) I’m a little hopeful since William appears to have more than one expression (maybe Ding Yi is too boring of a character?!)

Stills:

Male lead, Ma Tian Yu. He plays younger brother, He Mu. Born with a silver spoon, he’s a free-spirit and runs away from his family to avoid being tied down by an arranged marriage. Highly adaptable, he works his way up at a different company and meets a hard-working girl in the process.

Second male lead, William Chan. He plays older brother He Han. He’s a perfectionist and is always praised upon by the whole family. But beneath that perfect suit, something dangerous lurks.

Oooo Not expecting this to be awesome in any accounts, but at least it’ll be full of pretty! And Ma Tian Yu and Lu Jia Rong at least are consistent decent actors. My two boys are looking so fine! I don’t really like the way the main girl looks when she’s not smiling, but when she does smile (not that pitiful close-lipped smile in some of the pics), like wide so-happy-with-teeth-showing smile, she looks SO. CUTE!

Anyways, aside from the aesthetics. Lol why is it always the warm hardworking slightly spoiled naive younger brother who gets the girl and the older serious cold brother is also sort of the antagonist? Doesn’t the older bro get some love in these kinds of dramas?

Still waiting for the something something happiness drama that was supposed to come out 2015 with William Chan and Tang Yi Xin (I think that’s her name). I saw it (and Ban Shu legend and Scholarly dream of a woman) in your virtual award poll thing, but I can’t find any info on it. Was it broadcasted and online?

Juli, if you want cold brothers to get the girl, watch Kdramas! Lol. The bad boys with prickly outside and supposedly warm inside 97% get the girl! XD But it looks like William and Lu Jia Rong will find comfort in each other so he’s not all alone in the end. =D

I’m gonna called it Because of Love There is Happiness with William and Tina Tang Yi Xin is scheduled for a February broadcast, but heck, I can’t find any pretty stills to post so I haven’t written anything about it (so low-key). But I’m thinking we might get something more high quality than fanshots soon.

Watching it or not is another question since it has 70 episodes….. 0___0

Lol. I’ve given up on kdramas for over a year now. I can’t pinpoint it, but I think the majority of kdramas can be so dramatic and over the top and idoly and very single-mold-style. I really hope William and Lu Jia Rong get together soon (in the drama) cuz they seem so sweet together in the flashbacks of the mv. But William seems to hurt her…a lot. I don’t even understand why he goes after the main girl — they don’t seem to have an history or chemistry. I hope there’s at least a lot of bromance though. tbh, there’s maybe one happy brother scene; everything else is them being enemies and angsty.

        • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

LOL I stopped watching Kdramas for the same reasons … I got sick of all the crazy makjang LOL

  2. 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Probably not going to watch this though. Looks too angsty for me. And while I love love love Ma Tian Yu, despite William Chan’s bad acting, I have a certain soft spot for him, thus it pains me to see him as the suffering second lead. Nope not jumping into this grave.

BUT have to say Ma Tian Yu’s song sounds REALLY good.

havent watched anything with ma tian yu, any recommended dramas or movies of him??? and just check dramawiki, he was born on 86???? woooowwww, he looks like osmeone from 90… i thought he was the same age with Yang yang. *speechless*

I first started liking him in here 怪侠一枝梅之驯兽记 Strange Hero Yi Zhi Mei, also, IMO one of LSS’s best dramas to date, also my first Wallace Huo drama after the CP3.

I also rather liked him in this 少年神探狄仁杰 Young Detective Dee. I personally liked the drama (my first Bosco Wang drama, and where I started really liking Sun Xiao Xiao), but I don’t know what public opinion was…

        • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

LOL the first time I saw Ma Tianyu was in Strange Hero and the moment he appeared I was like HOLY EFFING SHIT ARE MY EYES DECEIVING ME!!! HE LOOKS LIKE A YOUNG LESLIE!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I then saw him in the Bosco Wong drama (Detective Dee) and he was great in there! 🙂

I then saw him in Ancient Sword and he was the only guy I knew in the cast along with Qiao Zhenyu (I never seen William Chan or Li Yifeng until Ancient Sword)

          LOL I never said I was rational…

Just wait for Ice Fantasy with him Yui! Or you can watch his movie Surprise You’ll Never Think Of: Journey to the West, where he looks breath-taking as well. Everyone thinks he’s younger than he is, including me. heh. That dang small face of his. Hmphs!

  3. 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

definitely a drama im looking for. As long as there are handsome boys, just count me in. lols. and William… dude, you’re sooo smexy… especially in black. uhm ah yeah! so many handsome and potential actors in C-entertainment, yet C-producer love to bring K-actors into C-dramas… sigh.

but then “Directed by Lin He Long (Cruel Romance)”, uh, well… just be nice. please! 😛

  4. 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Awesome, look forward to seeing this as William Chan and Ma Tian Yu were in my favorite Chinese Drama last year, Legend of the Ancient Sword, on VIKI where they also played brothers. About 6 guys, in the cast including Li Yi Feng the eye candy was unmatched ! I don’t watch for eye candy but in this drama it was hard not to miss ! ???

  5. 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Ma Tian Yu is so pretty that all his female actresses just don’t look so pretty anymore XD

  6. 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

I always have a soft spot for Ma Tianyu cuz he looks so much like Leslie <3
Also he can act on top of being pretty 🙂

    • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

but the plot sounds like a bad makjang dog blood drama

      • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Exactly right?! But William’s acting looks infinitely better than it is in freaking Legend of Zu. Thank god for that at least. Helps that there seems to be so much pretty.

        • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Well having Ma Tianyu definitely adds bonus points 🙂
I’m biased what can I say. I LOVE Leslie and every time I see Ma Tianyu he reminds me of Leslie…

    • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

I miss Leslie. Growing up I considered him the best looking guy. Some of his movies were a hit or miss but ugh his charismatic presence. <3

      • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

LOL don’t get me started on the awesomeness of Leslie cuz I’ll never shut up 🙂

Leslie + Anita are like my EPIC TRUE LOVE IDOLS OF ALL TIME like I’ve loved them since I was a child and will always love them even now that I’m grown and these legends are sadly no longer with us.

Leslie is the whole package – from the awesome song + dance performances to the screen performances, he’s just a TRUE STAR (like his onstage + onscreen charisma will break all billboards in levels of epic awesome). He and Anita are like the soul brother/sister twins of each other in terms of stage and screen charisma. Their song + dance routines are legendary and they lead the field with their creativity and always trying to break the molds. Their fashion sense, talent, performances, creativity … I WEPT when I heard the news of Leslie and Anita’s passing … ah goddammit my eyes are wet now just thinking of it ah shit now I’m all teary *sniff*

      • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

I agree with you about Leslie’s movies but I loved the majority of them. I ESPECIALLY love the one he did with Anita (like 胭脂扣) and his 倩女幽魂, 白髮魔女傳, 霸王別姬 are all favorites of mine too…

      • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Ummm.. I honestly can’t see Leslie in Ma Tianyu. But maybe I need to see him in motion. On the other hand, I think Chen Xiao awfully looks like Leslie. I even hope that someday a Leslie biopic is produced and Chen Xiao will star in it. Despite the ROCH complete mess, I still think CX is talented, and it will be interesting to see him do such a challenging role. First off, he needs to work on his Cantonese.

  8. 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

Loved Ma Tian Yu in Legend of the Ancient Sword and was looking up a few of the other recommendations for his dramas/movies mentioned here and came across his bio- WOW – have a whole new regard and respect for this kid – amazing ! Too much to retype here but if you are interested you can check it out on Wiki.d-addicts.com. Leslie also had a rough childhood.

    • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

I remember watching the doco about Ma Tianyu’s life a couple years back and it made such a strong impression on me. The boy’s been through hell and he’s come out of it as a resilient and good person. Just for that alone I’ll always have respect for him.

Leslie and Anita also had rough childhoods too … I think many celebs (especially back in Leslie’s era) had really rough childhoods…

Don’t know how accurate this this, but both baidu and manmankan lists this drama as having an airing date of 3/15/16 (don’t know which tv station).

I read the same thing, was wondering why the official weibo doesn’t update their web. Maybe they know less than us. Lol.

      • 31 thoughts on “Ma Tian Yu and William Chan battle it out in Yuan Lai Xing Fu

It’s making it’s debut on Tencent video! That makes it more difficult to find a source to watch it, doesn’t it?

Then it’s on qq platform. Nothing can hide from dedicated fans, especially from the fans of Ray and William. Don’t worry. 🙂
