Yang mi is quite quiet in real life eh?? Saw her bday message to Wallace. Hu ge also told Wallace to find love before their 5 year promise. Lol. Im not sure theybare as close as Chen long and Hu ge. Hu ge did say before that only a few ppl know his phone codes and Wallace doesnt. Lol. Got the fans all riled up.

The whole CP thing with Wallace and Hu Ge was just a ruse to distract media attention – Wallace was embroiled in a scandal about his alleged visits to high class brothels (Wallace sued the people who accused him for defamation of character and won the court case) and the media then kept asking Wallace when he’d get a girlfriend, why doesn’t he have a girlfriend, yet, etc.
Wallace has always been a really private person and dislikes people prying into his private life. He stays far away from social networks and avoids media attention when he can (I don’t blame him). The media wouldn’t stop bugging him about finding love, etc. and they were like, “you’re already in late 30s, what would you do about marriage, etc.” and so Wallace just said that, if in 5 years he is still single, then he’ll just stay with Hu Ge.
Of course the media jumped on the bait right away and then they surprised Hu Ge in a separate interview about the “5 year promise”. Hu Ge (catching on really quick) naturally said that of course he would stay with Wallace as well if he is also single in 5 years time (having recently broken up with his girlfriend), but then said that in 5 years maybe he (HG) wouldn’t be single anymore, so…
The media, CP fans, Wallace fans, and HG fans of course jumped on the CP hype and so everyone tried to hype the Wallace/Hu Ge CP thing up when in reality these 2 guys are straight as an arrow and are just friends.

Besides, I much more believe the rumors about actresses throwing themselves at Wallace for one night stands (because there have been records of hotel visits where they spent a night together the same room), but then again, both parties are willing and happy and are consenting adults so I dunno why the media are trying to make a fuss about that

Im sure he’s gotten lots of actresses throwing themselves at him along with a number of fans too. He is single indeed and what he does with his partner shouldnt be anyone’s else business, but unfortunately as popular as he is, his business is everyone else’s.
I’ve been following news on him for quite a while now and am taken back that you stated there have been records of overnight stays or hotel room visits. I don’t recall any of that. All theres been is this actress or that actress coming out of the same hotel he happens to be at. As in the case of Viann Z. When asked, he politely said he doesn’t even know who she is. None of us know really who these people are, but I sense that Wallace is a genuine, steady-fast man with principles. He’s a self-promclaimed introvert and it is evident these sort of rumors gets to him. It bothers him a lot. As a fan I also don’t like it either. If you would kindly link me to those record I would like to see them, otherwise making statements like these can be misleading.

The Chinese entertainment reporters of China, Taiwan, HK generally are of sub-standard quality. Questions mostly bombarded toward actors at press conferences are personal questions that have nothing to do with the film being promoted. Years ago, Daniel Wu directed a film ‘The Heavenly Kings’ where his rock star character and band mates concocted a feud to play the media. The Wallace/HuGe CP thing seems like a riff on that.

Totally agree with you about the reporters. After the Anhui awards ceremony, the reporters kept asking Wang Kai about the Wallace and Hu Ge CP and WK didn’t even know what they were talking about. The reporters were then told by the mods to ask proper questions and so they then asked questions about WK’s awards, etc.
With Hu Ge, the reporters kept harping on the Wallace/HG CP to the point where even the very good-natured HG was exasperated and clarified that he and Wallace are only good friends and will always only be good friends, and could the reporters please ask questions related to his awards instead of about the Wallace CP thing? HG was so tired already because the Anhui awards finished late at night and he was almost falling asleep on his feet.

Chen Long and Hu Ge have known each other since Hu Ge was in his teens, so they have almost 20 years of friendship. HG even has dinner with Chen Long’s family when they both have spare time, and Chen Long has said repeatedly and without reservation that he most likes to work with HG because he feels most like himself and most comfortable when being with HG. HG has many friends (because of his friendly and fun nature) but there are some that he’s especially close to, Chen Long being one of them. Yuan Hong is most likely another one.

Chen Long’s wife is the actress who plays Wallace’s sis in Love me if You Dare. She’ll also be playing Hu Ge’s girlfriend in his new drama.

Acting ability aside (because we all have different opinions on what constitutes good acting), Wallace seems to be quite a nice guy cuz he always encourages his fans to work hard on their studies and their jobs. While he wants them to support his movies, etc., he doesn’t want them to watch his movies/dramas at the expense of their real life responsibilities. He also will not take any gifts from fans (because he doesn’t want them to waste money) and in general does not encourage fans to give him gifts, but will only consider accepting small gifts that are handmade (like knitwear, etc.) because he doesn’t want to waste the effort that the fans spent on making the gift.

Beside a striking resemblance, Yuan Hong and Wang Kai coincidentally were born in the same city in the same year in the same month within a few days apart. Both were at the recent Domestic TV series Ceremony. Wonder if they took a photo together with Hu Ge.

Apparently Yuan Hong visited Hu Ge (despite his own filming work) almost on a daily basis to keep Hu Ge company while HG was recovering in hospital after the terrible (and tragic) accident from long ago.

Jumping in on this discussion, it kind of bothers me though that Hu Ge and Yuan Hong don’t really have any obvious public interactions much at all these days, which makes it seem like they’ve been drifting apart for a few years (ever since Yuan Hong’s whole debacle with Tangren like back when)…hopefully that’s just a media thing and they’re actually still great friends. Seems like the golden trio from their CP3/LotCH days (LSS, HG, and YH) have seemingly feel apart. LSS’s been pretty low key for awhile, and she usually is anyways. But really. It feels like she has barely anything to do with the other two now, and YH feels particularly estranged from his old buddies. Again, this is basically just a feeling cuz I have nothing to back me up.

Despite all that the YH/HG bromance ship is still very much afloat to the public, his fans, (and me :D). Also love the HG/CL bro-ship. Knew they worked together like 2004/5? in Yang Warriors, but didn’t know they’ve known each other that long (wow since HG was a teen?!). They definitely seem more like close family than just friends, with how friendly and casual they are and how well HG knows CL’s wife and kid. In the clip (interview) below, near the end when Hu Ge’s asked to pick who he’d choose to CEO a company, he chooses CL out of everyone cuz he’s known him for so long :D. Lol YH was out of the running accidentally, but HG said he’d put YH at the front desk cuz of his beautiful face. Haha.

Not sure about the Yuan Hong / Hu Ge thing, but even during the Nirvana and Disguiser filming periods and promos, YH was always showing his support of the dramas because of HG. He took (awesome) selfies of himself posing for a kiss with HG’s poster and posted them on his weibo for fun and LULZ 🙂
As the for the Tangren thing, Yuan Hong must be one of the nicest guys cuz Tangren’s boss has been treating him like shit for years, like practically “freezing” (not sure if you know what I mean) and won’t let him develop his craft and kept him down for the whole of the 10 year contract.
Yuan Hong was the one who highly recommended the Bubu Jingxin novel to the TR boss and did all the work convincing them to film it and then trying to liaise with Tong Hua for the rights/permissions. BBJX to date is still one of TR’s most highly praised dramas and what does the boss do after all the success? She kicks YH out and forces him to leave after his 10 year contract is up.
TBH thank heavens YH finally left TR because now he’s a free man to do what he wants. He’s got the good looks to be an A-lister but because of the years wasted at TR (always stuck in small or invisible or supporting roles), his acting skill development has been stilted. I’ve noticed that in recent dramas with more decent roles, his acting skills have improved. Wwatch his Shen An in Huaxuyin – while not as great as Jiang Xin’s Song Ning cuz holy shit that lady is one hell of an actress, YH’s showed a lot of improvement from his TR days.
Liu Shishi has been distancing herself from YH ever since she’s started dating Nicky Wu, probably because of all the Hong-Shi shipping. Actually ever since she stated dating Nicky Wu, LSS has been keeping a distance from her really good male buddies like YH and even Hu Ge, probably because she doesn’t want to make Nicky have any misunderstandings…

There’s less time for them to interact since YH’s keeping company with his girlfriend. At the recent award show, he and HG were still seen joking around.

That’s true, it’s just He Ge doesn’t really mention or post stuff of Yuan Hong anymore. Although that could just be a thing. YH has always been publicly supportive, it’s just, I feel like …yeah…idk.

Lucky Hu Ge, he has his regular ships and then bromance ships too. All the bromance fan service HuHuo did at the IQIYI nighy was obviously to distract from the HuaYing rumors. Even when ZLY sat next to Wallace it became background noise. It was very effective. By the time Anhui Awards came around, no one cared that ZLY and Wallace only sat a few seats from each other.
But despite that, they are good friends. Hu Ge may not be Wallace’s best friend and Wallace may not be his either, but no doubt they are really good friends. Hu Ge is Mr Sunshine and everyone’s buddy, but Wallace is more complicated. It’s cute to see that Hu Ge puts him at ease. HuGe has this unspoken understanding of his personality and needs. So these fans who are all worked up about Wallace not knowing his phone code/PW must not know them well enough. Wallace would never ask for Hu Ge’s phone PW and even if Hu Ge would have offered it, seeing how much Wallace values privacy, he would have likely turn it down. They don’t need to be besties. Being friends is enough.
