What a bubbly trailer for a palace drama. I am surprised at the cheery tone and feisty female lead. Ban Shu Legend supposedly follows Zhao Li Ying’s Female Prime Minister niece, detailing the abandonment of Ban Shu to her long travel to the forbidden palace. With a strong desire to be accepted by her royal family, she struggles and proves her ability by becoming the first female royal instructor.

I remember seeing the trailer for this and thinking how similar it was to a few other dramas. But Jing Tian is so pretty here so I may just check out the longer trailer if there is one. =P

I just completed watching this drama. It was unexpectedly enjoyable. This looks like Yu Zheng style, comical, light hearted and not too many makjang and and a cast with lots of pretty faces with inexperienced acting skills. I am not a fan of Yu Zheng but I am drawn to this drama due to the Jing Tian. Ban Shu has a very engaging personality. Jing Tian is prefectly cast for Ban Shu.
The drama ended at ep42 and i noticed I sat thru the whole drama without pressing the forward button. It was a relaxing but well written drama. I dont normally like Yu Zheng’s drama, but this has been enjoyable.

Thanks for the quick review Hohliu! I do plan on watching this series after it has English subs because I like Jing Tian. It looks pretty mild too compared to other Yumama’s series. Lol.

I watched this drama last week. I had never watched 42 episodes over a weekend like this time. Really enjoy watching. I like a story, it’s very meaningful, it is about love, about life, about how you should treat others, how to respect your teachers… More than that, the ending is perfect for me. There are some intense moments during the drama, but they are not overwhelming. I like Ban Shu’s personality 🙂 as well as Jing Tian and the lead male’s acting. They acted very naturally 🙂 hope that they will have more chance to cooperate again
