This drama has probably the stingiest production crew ever! It seems like forever for them to release some official stills. Sparrow is the novel adaptation written by Hai Fei and he will also be in charge of the drama scripts. That’s always good to know. If you’re watching Love Me If You Dare, you might have deja vu. Lol.
Let’s meet the cast in their uniforms!
Li Yi Feng (Fall In Love Like A Star). An undercover agent with a mission to infiltrate the headquarters under Edward Zhang’s. I’m not sure about the parties/politics involved yet.
Zhou Dong Yu (The Ark of Mr. Zhou). Our female lead who is under principle married to Zhang Ruo Yun’s character. But her heart points to our male lead. She looks like a baby! Her character is still a student when we meet, described as romantic and temperamental.
Edward Zhang Lu Yi (Love Me If You Dare). Li Yi Feng’s boss. He’s like Hu Ge’s older brother to me, such similar face!
Andrew Tam (Love Me If You Dare). Ruthless officer carrying out brutal acts but deep down he desires a warm love. Righttttttt. But its the total opposite role from his sweet character in LMIYD!
Zhang Ruo Yun (Wu Xin The Monster Killer). He’s an agent who is against Li Yi Feng after he begins his secret spy mission.
Adi Kan (Crazy New Year’s Eve). A female agent, opposite of Zhou Dong Yu in terms of personality. She also carries a torch for the male lead. Her cover identity is a third-rate movie actress. Aww.
Li Xiao Ran (The Nightingale). She is an invited guest starring as Adi’s sister.

Spy drama Sparrow is directed by Chen Jin (Zombies Reborn) and Zhou Yuan Zhou (Legend of Fragrance). Filming began in July and they will wrap up in the upcoming weeks.

I laughed so hard when I saw her pose with those boots. XD Her extreme baby face will be a hindrance when she plays older roles.

Is anyone watching Love Me If You Dare? It’s like they put Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock into CBS’s Elementary. They even have Clyde the Turtle LOL

I think miss chasingpolaris is since she’s a big fan of the novel and the said novel is the most popular one of the three series of the same genre. Its interesting about the turtle, I thought it was original. Lol.

So about Chen Mo the Turtle — he is too SMALL! In the novel, he is supposed to be very big, like 5 times bigger than the one in the drama. The reason why the production team chose this one is because it apparently has a good smile. (Something of that nature lol.)

I’m watching the drama too and while it’s not very original, I need some entertainment after the void left by Nirvana in Fire (totally repeat watching this LOL). I like Wallace and Wang Kai so there’s that 🙂
I love turtles cuz they’re so cute – the one in this drama does have a nice smile! It’s not very big but the shell is beautiful (patterns) and it has a cute face 🙂
I would’ve love to see a huge turtle too but this one is good enough 🙂

His first drama Longmen Express was actually in 2013 so he’s fairly new. He’s also in the Zhang Han/Guli Nazha series.
