SPOILERS OF THE ENDING! DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW. Lol. *as if we don’t know already…*

I can’t believe they would cut out four whopping episodes to match the broadcast dates. Makes no sense! These episodes are online! Have nothing to do with broadcast date…. They cut out the kissing scene so fans are turning rabid on weibo. LOL!

Watch these episodes fast before they are put on private!

Someone mention there is a movie coming up too. Any idea if it is true?

    • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

At this point, it could go either way, especially with the trend of movie and drama ver. I did hear of this piece of the news but it won’t start anytime soon – the earliest is near the end of 2016.

      • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Have they even started casting news yet? I haven’t heard anything.

I wonder who’ll they get to play the movie version. Hopefully people who are age appropriate.

Whaaat? Fans are mad because they cut the kiss? Pffff… Come on, even if it was in it, the episodes still wouldn’t make any sense

OMG. I was still crying when I saw your memes. And now I am laughing. Why you make me feel so many emotions right now? v__v

This series was gorgeous and I LOVED the last two episodes. The confrontation, the angsts, the real feelings of the characters. The moments when Qian Gu went to see Zihua’s scars on his back and when she died in her arms. It is interesting to note that until the end, Qian Gu stays good and wants to make the world better while Bai Zihua only believes his eyes. The dialogue are gorgeous (thanks to Fresh GuoGuo or the writers of the drama? I don’t know) and really each word by the end really … killed me slowly. I really really loved this drama, especially the second half.
On a side note, I seriously want to delete the last 7 minutes of the series. They make no sense. I accept that Mo Yan wants to redeem himself and I think he should REALLY feel sorry for everything he has done. But by sacrificing himself, he gives everyone at Chang Liu including himself and Bai Zihua to feel better about Hua Qian Gu’s death. I would rather have them feel bad for the rest of their life. Sorry not sorry! 😛

LOL!! they share the same wig. you just had to use that connection huh kappy?!!

stupid crazy ending. what a miserable life for meng ge ge and qing shui, he’s stuck with her for life now despite not loving her. this drama is such a mess.

so in the end, qian gu created that scene to trick bai zi hua into killing her? how nice of her. LOL. mo yan is still living…that is unfair to this world. demon goddess did absolutely nothing to gain justice for her dead friends. im upset as heck!!! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh why did i watch this drama… whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

im deleting all the episodes from my hard drive, i have no reason to keep them. moving on!

    • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Wait, in the version I just watched, Mo Yan died…….. no? @_@ confused now. However, I wish he didn’t die so he would feel bad for what he did.

  5. 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

The end is finally here! The dialogue was amazing, each sentence had so much meaning, it completely gave me the feels. I also think the last 7 minutes of the drama did not make any sense. I would of preferred Hua Qian Gu to regain her memories so she knows what’s going on and for Jie Jie and all the others who had died for Qian Gu to be revived since that’s what the novel ending was supposed to be. Overall, I can’t say that I ship Bai Zi Hua with Qian Gu after everything that had happened. The scene where Zi Hua was holding Qian Gu at the end with his thoughts like I will give you everything that you want, be it love, or blah blah blah was very annoying. Just a few scenes before he said that he would never love her or be together with her, then he goes on saying yeah I can’t live without you now after you’re dead. If Bai Zi Hua ever goes to see a therapist, he will be diagnosed with a lot of emotional issues.

I’m so disappointed, what an awful way to end my summer break before school starts. First they cut out the part where he bites her neck and now they cut off the kissing scene!!! What the hell. I’m so done with dramas, most of them just give me heart breaks. Though, I did like the meme at the end. I know a lot of people don’t like the scene where he was saying I’ll give you whatever you want because it doesn’t make sense but if you think about it, killing the woman he loves made him wake up and realize what’s really important. Men (well most guys, to be fair) are all the same, they don’t know what they have or want until they lose it (no offense guys).

I actually LOVE that quote. It showed how desperate BZH became that he started to offer her everything and anything as long as she come back to him. I thought the quote was beautiful because it showed how much he’s change because of love. He even say ‘right or wrong I’ll give you’. He threw this morals right out the windows after the point where she died lol.

I know, it’s so sweet. When did she find out she was a goddess anyway and did shifu get the scar

      • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Zhu Ran actually told her while in Wasteland. She didn’t believe it until she used her power to protect Dongfang from the savaged people there. That’s why she decides to stay in the waste land, I think. Can’t remember properly. DF lied to her that JieJie was the one who sealed her power because if she knows that it was BZH her feelings for him will just grow even deeper. As if it can go any deeper. lol

  6. 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME?!! For me the drama had everything. The good looking guy, the pretty girl, an angsty plot, the beautiful yet painfully sad dialogue! IT HAD EVERTHING! But the ending rushed, edited killed, and everything was just WTH! SOOO disappointed. I think I will need time to recover from this drama.

I have to say thank-you to everyone for hanging in there. If I were watching alone, I would have dropped this drama a long time ago. Dropped dramas line up my path like dead flies. So this is an accomplishment. Hopefully, we find a better piece of work to spazz about in the near future! *hugs*

    Some BTS photos.

The happy family that didn’t happen.

    The purple cape-wearing OTP. 🙂

    With a fan.

Shuo Feng giving our Jie Jie the dirty look. ^_^

All the actresses in this drama have great skin.

Everyone bonds together for one quick selfie.

Nothing say I love you like going to the ends of earth to find you. Need to selfie this. Lol.

    SMILE!

even i couldnt finish watching this, but i really do enjoy seeing those pics.. best part of a drama is their behind the scene hahaa.. thanks for sharing 🙂

LOL, I was hoping for at least an ending meme, and you didn’t disappoint me :). We even get the BTS pictures as bonus. I’ve seen them before, but your captions add up the entertaining factors 10x over.

Thanks for keeping with this drama, Kap, and kudos to your perseverance. I really enjoy our conversation here, your witty recaps and all the commenters. Even better because of the Dong Fang-friendly environment *winks*.

I haven’t watched the last episodes in full (meaning I did watch a little here and there). I’ll wait until the English sub is completed (that is, if I still have the mood to watch it). I did read a few forums, and the majority seem to hate the ending. It looks like there’s crazy editing and everything is rushed. And of course there’s the chorus of “WHERE IS THE KISS?”. In my head, our beloved DF is saying with his mischievous smile, “I may not get a proper burial, but I got to kiss the girl!” 😀

Anyway, thanks again! (PS. I’ve ventured to WuXin, just finished ep. 3. Here’s hoping the English sub for the next episodes will be available soonest!)

    • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

You’re right! He kissed the girl and the whole world knows it through official broadcast!*claps* In my little cave, I’m thinking that the person behind the editing computer is a DF fangirl so she’s like, Imma not show this to spite BZH fans. Lol. So petty of me! 😎

We made it together Lenje! Without you guys, I’ll be withering on my own. ^_^

YAY! I will now have time to focus on Wu Xin too. =)

  9. 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

I’m sad to say that this is one of the worst drama I’ve watched all year. I only picked it up because I heard she went evil in the end and was looking forward to it. This is like sitting through torture from start to end. I intentionally stayed away from any of these threads because I know nothing about the story. I was taken by the promise of evil and the pretty cast.

The male lead has been added to my very short list of leads I hate with a passion, equalling that to David Chiang’s sifu character from The Snow is Red. Which has a very very similar storyline at the end of the day. The Snow is Red came first though.

What is the point of sitting through all this torture and watching everyone you like, or remotely like die off one by one and our lead girl going through one misunderstanding after another and enduring all the sh*t people throw her because of her love for sifu.

So many times I wanted to reach through the screen and wring her neck, beat her over the head and tell her to let it go and move on. She’s so frustrating.

I only stuck it out because after everything, I wanted to see who they were going to solve the issue, would they show up the ‘good guys’ for who they really are or continue to pin the blame on the girl who refused to let go.

At the very least I wanted them to reset the world if they can’t fix it. But no. They went half ass about everything. Stick to your gun!

Not worth the time I spent on it. I really do think this is similar to the middle portion of the Snow is Red. Only in the end sifu was a coward who loves her, while other sifu from The Snow is Red is a jerk to the end. argggh…. frustration!

    • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

I feel like we are from the same generation! The Snow is Red! I could never finish the first part of the story about the forbidden love between Shifu and disciple, played by Mimi Kung. I only watched the second part where she became the boss of the evil sect and lost contact with her twin daughters. THE MOST USELESS HERO ever in wuxia land gotta be handed to the man the twins loved. I keep asking myself why? why? why??

I do love the soundtrack though, the flute song is still playing in my playlist. X)

I totally agree!!!!!! I spent all my summer folllowing the drama but it didn’t really stick to the novel especially the ENDING!!!!!! I want BZH is feel a bit remorse and see how he start searching for HQG. I wanna see DONGFANG came back to recover HQG memories and save Tangbao ????????

Ha, this thread is like an award acceptance ceremony. 🙂 Everybody’s thanking everybody else. :))) Time to join:D

Thank you, Kappy, for providing all those videos and recaps for us. Without you I wouldn’t understand even half of the story. Also, I apologize for being one of the people that made you watch this show when you wanted to drop it. Sorry 🙁 *bows*
Many thanks to everybody who joined the comment section and answered my questions. *bows*
    See you around! 🙂

Award ceremony? I need a big fat cake to compensate for the suffering I went through! =D

Tis’ okay, I’m such a loser when it comes to ZLY dramas.

      • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

I’m sorry, Kap! 🙁 I live at the other end of the world. If I lived somewhere closer to you, I would definitely take you to eat cakes. We suffered through this thing – we deserve it. 🙂

btw, for you this is just a disappointing ZLY drama. I like both Wallace and LY. So imagine what it is for me. Two of my most favorite people in Chinese entertainment, two of the best kissers I’ve seen in Chinese entertainment, I was soooo prepared to board their ship. :(((( I kept waiting for the teacher/student nonsense to be over, so I waited, aaaaaaaaaand waited, and ….*crickets*
Aaaaaaand big , fat nothing. If I wasn’t so fed up with drama and angst, I would watch Yun Zhong Ge. No matter how bad Yumama mutilates and rearranges his stories, even he is not that stupid to cut the romance part from a tragic love story.

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Yumama knows what the ladies want, he would add more romance instead of taking it away! LOL.

*munches on a piece of cake at 6am*

      • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

You know, I started watching the drama pretty late, maybe after Kaptain’s second recap. I wasn’t interested in the premise, never even knew the novel. Then one weekend I marathoned several episodes.. before I knew it I was immersed. I read the plot, but never expected to experience such emotional turmoil as I follow the drama LOL. Particularly because I find the main characters oh so frustrating, which is disappointing because I really like HQG in the beginning. If not for the much better secondary characters, Kappy’s recaps, and the interesting discussions here and in another forum, I’d probably dropped this halfway.

While in the end the drama doesn’t leave me satisfied, I am thankful for being introduced to talents like Ma Ke and Zhang Dan Feng. I’ve started to check their previous works (ZDF especially), and I look forward to their next projects. I wish that ZDF’s drama with Yuan Hong will have an airdate soonest, because the two of them are cute in the reality show Chinese Bridge! 😀

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

I’ve said this from the beginning, but Ma Ke and Zhang Danfeng are truly the highlights of this series. If I was a producer I’d make a series with these 2 as the main characters, like those buddy-cop partnerships or something – they could be reluctant partners and kick ass together LOL 🙂

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

YES TO THIS IDEA PLEASE! Dan Feng in a cop uniform…so smexy! I could imagine Sha Jie Jie annoying the crap out of him for every strayed strand of hair! HAHAH. FANFIC PLEASE!

      • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

But like can you just imagine all the fun and entertainment if Ma Ke and Zhang Danfeng ever teamed up? Like, they’d be totally snarking at each other while kicking ass and looking cool at the same time! I mean, watching them team up against Bai Zihua and Changliu was one of the funnest things to watch in HQG. I swear, the more I watched HQG the more pissed off I get at Bai Zihua and Mo Yan and Changliu. (Although Bai Zihua’s younger brother – the youngest of the 3 Elders – was all right. He was a decent guy and was actually the kindest out of all of them, so I like him.)

I’ve been catching up on the eps and the parts where Jiejie and Dongfang died were the saddest and the most touching parts of the entire series. Seriously I wanna watch a whole series with just these 2 guys – they deserved SO MUCH BETTER than what happened to them in the series! Especially Dongfang – did they just leave his body there WTF??!

AND WTF IS THIS ENDING??? It’s like, one minute BZH is holding HQG and crying and the next moment, after a sudden fade to black, HQG is alive and feeding chickens and living with BZH and watching the moon together like WHAT IN THE BEEPING F???

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Exactly ! They tried to end the drama too quick ! They should really stick to the novel ending ! They didn’t even show where is dongfang body afterwards or even have tangbao go find her daddy’s body ??????? sha jie jie gets to lay in a ice bed , What about me dongfang?

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Agree, HQG’s ending officially beats Scarlet Heart 2 for the title of most absurd ending ever. 🙂 If anyone can point out a drama with even more messed up story, I am ready to watch it just to see if it can get any worse.

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

They basically squeezed the last eighth of the novel into 1 episode! If one thing pisses me off about this drama, apart from the bad script, is the pacing. They drag out boring parts and it’s so damn slow it makes you wanna skip, and then they rush through the important bits and as the audience you’re just like, “WTF just happened???” The scenes don’t flow and are choppy and uneven. The characters do things that don’t make sense and it’s only the awesomeness of Dongfang and Sha Jiejie that got me through this drama (even they can’t save this drama from the mess it became).

It’s so weird cuz even though I love Sha Jiejie and Dongfang the most in the novel (and Ma Ke and Zhang Danfeng are awesome so the drama versions made me love the characters even more), I thought novel Bai Zihua was OK. He wasn’t my favorite but at least I didn’t wanna punch him every 2 seconds. I love Wallace Huo but Goddamn, the drama version of BZH makes my blood pressure rise. Drama BZH made wanna punch the screen every time he opens his mouth and spouts all that righteous crap and does his Holier-than-thou act. I’m not sure what happened here (most likely because of the script) but the drama version of BZH made me hate the character (although Ni Mantian and Mo Yan tops the “most hateful and deserves to die” list).

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

And seriously I hate this drama ending. If I was the scriptwriter, I’d make Qiangu elope with Dongfang and hang out with Sha Jiejie LONG BEFORE THE 3RD ACT, like HQG must be masochistic or something cuz WHY THE HELL would anyone keep going back to Changliu and Bai Zihua after all the torture and shit they put her through??? I mean, if she runs off with Dongfang and Jiejie it’s not like those Changliu bastards can do anything – why not live a happy life with these awesome guys and to hell with all those Changliu bastards? Of course she’ll take Tangbao with her and they and Dongfang can live as a happy family and get up to shenanigans with Jiejie every now and then hahahahaha 🙂

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

Ha! I like your script, Shimo! Don’t forget to cast a spell on Ni Man Tian to completely erase any memory of Qian Gu 😀 (I’m being generous here LOL)

        • 37 thoughts on “The Journey of Flower (Hua Qian Gu): Episode 49 – 50 “Finale.”

I would watch the hell out of that drama if they are placed on a team. It’s COMEDY GOLD! Please, write this fanfic.
