Wuxia fantasy drama Chinese Paladin 5 has finally begun their filming portion with rumors and casting offers going way back to 2013. Jiang Jin Fu is out and Elvis Han steps in as the new male lead. Many might recognize the new face as the monk who eats meat and lies through his teeth in the fantasy horror web drama Wu Xin The Monster Killer. His leading lady is Gulnazar (Xuan Yuan Sword – Rift of the Sky, The Classic of Mountains and Seas). Gotta say, I think they look quite good together, or maybe I just picked the right photos to place side-by-side. I don’t really believe Elvis’ profile because he has an old face for a baby born in 1992! Lol.

Elvis Han as Jiang Yun Fan, child of a noble family but for some reason was adopted by a bandit family and lives in the mountains. He’s bright, outgoing, and has a great sense of justice.
All the boys of CP franchise has the same freakin hairstyle. ROFL.
Gulnazar as Tang Yu Rou, part of the Four Great Families. She’s saved by our hero while gathering medicine for her village. She has great healing powers and prefers to use them to help people than to fight. Love her hair and costume here!
Two other cast members are Vanessa Wang Miao (The Interns) and Zhang Ziang (Sound of the Desert, The Legend of Qin). Taiwanese actor Joseph Cheng is also part of the cast, playing a disciple of Mount Zhu (the busiest sect as of late huh?).
Helmed by three directors, Zheng Wei Wen (The Dragon Heroes, Smile of Princess), Xu Hui Kang (Mystery in the Palace, Detectives and Doctors), and He Zhen Hua (The Book and the Sword) and action director Chen Wei Tao (Xuan Yuan Sword – Rift of the Sky), the script is in the hands of Wang Li Zhi and Yao Zhuang Xian (game producer and general manager of Chinese Paladin Series). Chinese Paladin 5 is projected to be 40 episodes.

Chinese Paladin without Hu Ge? That feels weird… And i also recognized that Chinese Paladin hairstyle too lol. Though i am not familiar with an of his works. Gulinazar looks fantastic! I think her hair and costume is the best of all the franchise.

Hu Ge is in the Movie Version of CP. Filming begins this ~~December. Lol.
It’s funny because if he had the hero’s hair from the game, I don’t think it would look good either. hehe.

Elvis Han again eh? Is he Tangren’s new guy now? From the side sort he resembles Eddie Peng – who I’m sure Tangren is pinching themselves for not making better use of.
