– Entertainment Value: ✪✪✪✪✪ (Fun to watch.)

    They had a press conference yesterday….and Mao Zi Jun who plays Tie Shou (Iron Fist) in the drama stole a kiss from Gui Gui when they re-enacted the scene from the drama. He kissed fast on the cheek. His reasoning? Her character always steals kisses from his character in the drama so now it’s his turn. LOL. My eyes are on you boy, pulling mischief on my lady like that! 😀

    – He kissed her at 3:44. She cried out, “He stole a kiss from me!” Adorably, Yang Yang perked up at the sideline and inched forward, “How come these two have such games?” He wanted to do it with Gui Gui too but Mao Zi Jun protectively stood in front of GG for a second before YY moved swiftly and playfully took GG’s arms.
    – At 4:12, Mao Zi Jun whispered something into GG’s ears, which I think is an apology because she shook her head, waving off his concern. Aww.

    I’m looking forward to their coupling the most.

      Gui gui and Mao Zi Jun look so cute together and Yang Yang is so funny. If only they had more scenes in the series

          REALLY I HOPE SO THEN since the main reason why I’m watching it is because of gui gui. Im hoping that the chemistry is really good so that her acting is better 😀 IM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS

    So glad this finally airs! All the pretty boys in one place. But I don’t like how they are promoting ZH as lead lead.

    – Story: ✪✪✪✪
    – Chemistry: ✪✪✪✪✪ Cmon, they are good friends in real life too!
    – Acting: ✪✪1/2 i think they need a few episodes to settle in. lol so stiff!
    – Directing: ✪✪ Fire the director! the special effects are horrible!
    – Entertainment Value: ✪✪✪✪✪

    now im still waiting for the liar and legend of fragrance’s sub.. i watched ep1 and 2, really nice..
    im craving for Mandarin dramas.. i dunno, i just feel bored with kdrama lately.. only watched one or two.. 🙂

          I don’t really know. We’re not a subbing group nor acquainted with any active Cdrama fansubbing team. Viki is the most active but I’m unsure whether they want to take on an old drama. Good luck!!

    I can’t believe this only airs twice a week! TT_TT
    Is it two episodes per day (so, four episodes each week)?

    I’m so spoiled by cdramas airing every day. I’m enjoying this so far. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Janine Chang onscreen, but she’s enjoyable so far and has managed to literally crack me up. Can’t wait for Gui Gui! She looks adorable.

    I’m liking all the relationships in this show. Zhui Ming is just so silly! I think the scenes with Mickey is a bit drawn out, but he’s creeping me out with his performance which probably means he’s doing a decent job.

    Only complaint is the overuse of CGI. Ugh.

    BTW, THE EYE CANDY IN THIS SHOW IS AMAZING. I don’t blame all the girls fawning over these four constables…lololol.

    – Directing: ✪✪✪ the effects are not the worst i have seen out of a chinese drama

    i think i am going to wait till more episodes come out before continuing

    Caught up with all the latest episodes.

    This drama is actually based on the movies that starred Deng Chao and Crystal Liu. I’m not really getting how, since Crystal’s Wu Qing was paralyzed and a woman. Hm.

    Story: ✪✪✪ (Overdone but the addition of Janine is wonderful.)
    – Chemistry: ✪✪✪✪✪ (Whether’s it’s the bromance or the chemistry between Janine and Zhang Han, it’s all there.)
    – Acting: ✪✪✪ (One star for the boys, two for Janine.)
    – Directing: ✪✪✪ (Utterly insane CG effects and not in a good way.)
    – Entertainment Value: ✪✪✪✪ (Janine’s antics. Lovely.)

      All the movies and drama adaptations are based on the novel, The Four Great Constables. The various productions have been changing and tweaking the characters around, including genders. Lol.

        In the 2002 version (with Wallace Chung), Heartless is also paralyzed. How is he actually written in the book? (Just curious).

          He is wheelchair-bound in the book also. So I was wondering whether he might be injured in here at all… But I guess they changed a lot (fantasy elements) to put more emphasis on Zhang Han’s character as the lead.

        They didn’t put him in a wheelchair this time but they definitely loaded his character and romance with a lot of angst.

    Finally watch finish in youtube and here is my review

    – Story: ✪✪✪✪½
    – Chemistry: ✪✪✪✪✪
    – Acting: ✪✪✪✪ (The boys and Girls are too pretty)
    – Directing: ✪✪ too much of “computerized” kungfu
    – Entertainment Value: ✪✪✪✪✪ (worth to watch.)

    I wonder why china drama always like to dubbed Zhanghan’s voice? His voice is actually very seducing …. kkkk

    Might have slight spoilers for those who haven’t watched this

    I just finished up to ep 44 and well I’m a little torn about how I feel. I went in rooting for Gui Gui’s pairing which only came after like 4 episodes or so and well I really didn’t feel their relationship. Came too sudden. Didn’t build up enough. But I continued watching and started to root for Yang Yang’s later relationship and well that completely destroyed me at the end. I feel like they just wanted to make him miserable while everyone else is happy in front of him. Poor Yang Yang… And well the storyline basically in my case was all over the place. Their ultimate goal is to defeat the baddest guy but I would have liked to see other cases (sort of like Strange Hero Yi Zhi Mei).

    My rating

    – Story: ✪✪✪½ (could have been done better.)
    – Chemistry: ✪✪✪✪ (I preferred more skinship though! Only the male lead has full kisses while the others have cheek kisses…)
    – Acting: ✪✪✪
    – Directing: ✪✪✪
    – Entertainment Value: ✪✪✪✪ (I expected too much and it fell. Still was good because of Gui Gui though)

      Awww. I heard so-so reviews from my friends as well. This version didn’t hold up to the previous ones with the cases.

      So only Yang Yang had a sad ending? 🙁 I figured that much from the spoilery trailers but I thought I at least two guards would be miserable. I might continue watching this down the line~~

    Is there any problem with the audio? I already downloaded this series in here, but the audio (especially) “background music & effect” is not balanced to hear from earphone, the sound of bgm is normal in right ear but no sound in left ear..

    Feels make uncomfortable while watching it 🙁

      I don’t know, the audio seems fine on my regular computer sound system. I’m not an expert with how your earphone works. Is it only one episode or all of them?

    So was the drama cut to 44 episodes instead of 48? That last episode seemed like the end but there is a scene that I never saw that was always part of the beginning credits.

      I’m waiting for someone to confirm that it has indeed ended for me to close this post. I’m not watching it so it’s harder to understand even though Baidu says 48, it hasn’t been updated in a while. =/
