HunanTV news. They have bought the rights to remake Queen In Hyun’s Man and You’re Beautiful. Offer has been out to Zheng Shuang to play Yoo In Na’s role. Waiting for confirmation from her side. Male lead might go to a newbie…. No news yet on the male lead or the potential cast of You’re Beautiful. I’m iffy with remakes…. Hunan has also bought a lot of rights for book-to-drama adaptations slated for next year in-house productions. Dang…. I’ll write more when faces are attached to the projects.
Having been used to generate heated discussion for the movie adaptation of BBJX. Kris Wu’s and Zhao Li Ying’s names are out (I’m so happy for both!) Main contender to play Ruo Xi is Taiwanese actress, Ivy Chen (Black & White, Tiny Times). Male contenders are offered to Shawn Dou and Tony Yang. No news on confirmations yet.
Themesong video, “Be Here,” by Jane Zhang for the film with Rain and Liu Yi Fei, For Love or Money. Oh Lord. My expectations for this movie and for Liu Yi Fei just skyrocketed. Gorgeous. Gorgeous! GORGEOUS!! For once, I feel for her. And that’s just through this trailer alone. And Rain finally leaves an impression too.
Fans need not wait long…it’s coming to theaters in China on November 7th!

Beside romancing classic beauty Liu Yi Fei in For Love or Money, Rain is making rounds with Tang Yan for their next collaboration in a modern drama called Miss Diamond (Carat/Diamond’s Lovers). Yep, she did not confirm the drama with Hawick Lau in the end *THANK-YOU!* For a movie, I don’t mind that he’s dubbed, but for a drama?! This trend…. *facepalm* Though I roll my eyes at the premise of Miss Diamond too: Tang Yan plays a girl who has difficulties in her work life and love life because of an unappealing appearance. Really? You’re gonna cast Tang Yan as the ugly girl? Well, it’s not the first time…so let’s see what method they could use to downplay that face!
As for my girlcrush, Zhao Li Ying. She’s going off the main market of conventional handsome actors and picks up a modern drama, tentatively called, The Interns, opposite Ryan Zheng, who you might remember in Love at Second Sight with Rainie Lam. A group of young adults facing real life problems out in the work force as they fight and compete to earn their place in a company. Honestly, when I read of this news a few weeks ago, I wrestled with the idea non-stop. But after seeing Ryan on Run, Brother, I’m more optimistic. He’s not the typical cute idol boy, but he definitely has that I’m-more-charismatic-in-motion aura. And he does. He looks like Wallace Huo up there. Lol. No wait, cross that out, he could be Li Ya Peng’s little bro! O_O!
A fuzzy fancam of Silent Separation (You Are My Sunshine) trailer, starring Wallace Chung and Tang Yan. The hot-pressed kiss against the wall looks painful but it is generating buzz for the show. Release date is looking at early 2015. I can’t say I’m excited. I just feel neutral. heh.
Zhang Han‘s new fantasy drama, Legend of the Red Mountains and Seas, with Kenny Kwan, former TVB actor, Matthew Ko (He left TVB this year to venture outside because they refused to promote him, even after 9 years of playing unpleasant roles.) Two other males include famous child actor, Leo Wu Lei and Vengo Gao. Little Wu Lei is the child actor for Yang Guo in Chen Xiao’s Condor remake. Leading female goes to Gu Li Na Zha (Xuan Yuan Sword – Rift of the Sky). The drama is based on Chinese classical texts about myths and legendary creatures. Zhang Han exclaims this role as a challenge in his acting career. He plays an abandoned royalty whose prophecy dictates he would kill his father. He starts wandering on his own at the age of 10 and hidden inside him are two forces of good and evil, which challenge and push him between the line of right and wrong.
Beside being a vehicle to promote new faces, like Legend of the Ancient Sword, the premise sounds excellent and that is me trying my best to translate. 😀
William Chan (Legend of the Ancient Sword) takes on the longest project of his career with leading lady, Tina Tang (evil purple-wearing girl in Female Prime Minister), in a modern drama titled Full of Happy Love Back. That title….? Tina plays a woman who does not take marriage lightly (who does?). With the appearance of THE perfect man (William), her fear of marriage is eliminated and the two decide to marry. They live in a 3-generation family house where chaos and heartbreak ensue… Of course. They need materials to pack 86 hours of television. Yep, you read it right. Slated for 86 episodes.

Ming Dao returns to the small screen, starring beside actress Ying Er. The story follows our main female lead as she details the turbulent emotions of love, betrayal, and marriage. Her ex-boyfriend is played by…. *drum rolls* Ma Tian Yu (Legend of the Ancient Sword). HA! Oh puppy. Ying Er always gives me the impression that she’s older than she actually is (25). A press conference was held the other day.
Wallace Huo‘s official still for his latest rom-com movie, Honey Enemy, with Korean actor, Kwon Sang Woo, and Chinese actress, Kitty Zhang. The film focuses on hilarious antics of three individuals after they sign up for a vacation trip overseas. They recently completed filming on Jeju Island (which was where he flew from to attend Della’s concert as a special guest.)

noooooooooooo not remakes!! omg. i just dislike remakes. the only good thing is they are not like some productions that give lead roles to Korean actors making the remakes silly.

For a second there when I saw the Wallace Huo poster, I got my hopes up and thought he was going to be in a modern drama! Sadface. But he’s still lookin’ mighty fine lol, so I’m not as bummed out.

Sad how in this wonderful list of updates, only two interest me. 🙁 I am definitely going to watch this new drama with Zhao Liying and Ryan Zheng and the upcoming movie with Liu Yifei! As for the others, I don’t feel neither the interest nor the energy to follow them.
Well, I have a lot of Chen Xiao and Zhao Liying works to see soon, so it is all good. 🙂

Oh no! I meant individual works though 🙁 I hope I didn’t put your hopes too high :S, me too, I really wants them to work together, but I don’t think it is going to happen anytime soon… (since that is what CX said in an interview last year I think).
Zhao Liying has Hua Qian Gu with Wallace Huo, Lucky Treasure with Zhu Zi Xiao, new movie with GuiGui and Kimi, this new one with Ryan Zheng, etc.
Chen Xiao has Yun Zhong Ge, Return of Condor hero, Glass Slippers/Mister Li thingie with ZDY, Bride Wars with AngelaBaby (again) and this new army movie with Hangeng + possibily a new Yu Zheng drama.
I just meant that both has really a lot of works right now and I hope to see their work soon 😀

Ah~~~~ I was excited for a minute thinking that YES! Kappy must have hidden the surprise to giggle herself to sleep without sharing the happy news with us. I guess at least I’m caught up-to-date with their works through Kappy, so that’s good.
I can’t believe no directors/producers have contacted the two for a reunion….they’re so well-liked by viewers for just one drama! LSS reunited with HG for like 3 times?

Did we just get a spoiler from the MV? It looks like a very pregnant Crystal is seem sitting on the bench with Rain’s character near the end of the MV. Can we conclude that it’s a happy ending after all those shed tears? 🙂
I’m looking forward to “Silent Separation.” The concept of the book is nothing new, but it’s the emotions it gives off that’s really memorable when reading it. Also, it doesn’t hurt that Wallace Chung & Tang Yan are the leads.
May I add that, although the C-media have reported that Rain & TangYan are confirm for that drama, Rain’s side has yet to confirm. So, I’m not too hopeful on that news just yet. The story line is not interesting, so I understand why they wanted both of them to star. TangYan is like the to-go-to star right now. I read an article saying that TangYan is one of the only few in demand stars left because others stars like YangMi have opt to do movies and produce their own production instead.
Same as you, I’m super glad Tang Yan is not doing another project w/ Hawick Lau.

Tang Yan is really popular. She has both the cute and mature factor. I need some more concrete to grasp onto for Silent Separation. It’s a good thing I like both Wallace and Tang Yan.
