Our Precious Pearl Princesses return to the small screen

When I say Pearl Princesses, the immediate image that should pop up is of these two. If not, we are a generation apart! Since Vicki Zhao and Ruby Lin share a connection and massive popularity back in the days (you youngins won’t understand, heh), I thought it was appropriate to put their news together, with both returning to the small screen at around the same time. Wouldn’t it be great to have them in another drama after 15 years?

The fun in counting wrinkles! 🙂

As I have mentioned previously, Vicki Zhao has been busy filming her upcoming drama, Tiger Mom, and the show recently releases some official stills of her modern beauty. I’m gonna be honest and but it took me a while to process her wearing office outfits. The outfits are gorgeous, me wants them, but the Vicki in my head for the last 15 years have always had that heavy flower headdress and perfectly curled bangs. Plus, I don’t recall watching her in a modern drama before. *thinking hard, bacon burning*

Tiger Mom, Kitty Dad, and their little daughter in the series.

Those cold eyes…you never want to cross her! So please, listen to Huang Xiao Ming‘s request at the press conference of his movie, The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom, and pair them up in a drama already! Dannit!!

Now onto Miss Ruby Lin‘s self-produced series with TVBS, The Way We Were, where she plays the leading actress, paired up with Leroy Young, aka guy with creepy smile. The story revolves around a group of friends as they struggle with obstacles and fall in love, in the span of 16 years. Aww.

And surprise, Mr. Dylan Kuo below signed up for a guest role, playing Ruby’s cheating boyfriend. Sigh. He looks so young. Is that even possible?!

And when is it airing you ask? Guess! Of course, in July. The 19th. Every drama premieres in July! Remember that!

counting wrinkles begins! well, to be fair, vicki is never the youthful looking of the two ladies. ruby has that ageless thingy going on but vicki always has that mature feel to her looks. plus, she’s married and has a kid, so that takes a toll on any woman.

what is ruby doing with the creepy guy? where’s keane to claim her man? LOL

tiffany looks sweet because ethan has returned from his army service. hehehe i would look sweet too.

are you sure that’s dylan? did he drink some potion too? that smooth, babyish face?!!!

Yes it is Dylan Frea! I’m surprised how youthful he looks. Even younger than Ruby!

Good to know we are in the same generation, Yolo. hehe.

I was fooled, I thought it was a drama with both of them together. 🙁
I wish they would work together again.

Sorry sweetie, I should’ve added another word to the post title: separately…

I do really wonder whether the two would agree to film together, hasn’t any director/producer thought of the idea before? Two big stars in one project…Like the idiom says, “One mountain cannot contain two tigers!”

Lol that’s ok. I am excited to see zhao wei in a drama after so many years. plus I like the pairing, they were in Red Cliff .

The only modern drama I finished with her in it was Old House has Joy. I watch that about as many times as pearl princess. She was also in one with Ady An about race car but I only saw parts of it.
