Movie Date with 小淩 (18): Love In Disguise

Alrighty, I know… you’ll be like OMG-sh on me once you check the file size.
I like watching action and/or musicals with the best quality so you either love me or don’t.
I get it. No hard feelings.

Leehom had better chemistry with everyone else except Crystal. LOL!
An odd pairing. I couldn’t feel the chemistry between this OTP. Just a lot of pretty disguising fate.
Where is Crystal focusing her stare? Hmm, Leehom’s nose is quite unique for an idol XD.

Plot: Famous from an incredibly young age, DMH (Leehom Wang) has only ever known a celebrity pop star existence. Yet, despite all the glamour, there is still something lacking in his charmed life – true love. With the help of fellow musician and friend WZB (Han-Dian Chen), DMH disguised himself as a regular Joe in the hope of finding true love. While incognito, DMH and WZB stumble across the performance of a classical Chinese orchestra and DMH is immediately captivated by the melodies of the guzheng soloist, LMQ (Crystal Liu Yi-Fei), a student at the Shanghai Conservatory, whose affections lie with the accomplished but arrogant virtuoso, ZXZ (Qiao Zhen-Yu). In his attempt to spend more time with LQM, DMH promises to help LQM get together with ZXZ. As DMH and LQM grow closer, it becomes increasingly difficult to conceal his identity. What happens if she finds out who he really is? Can she really love and respect a celebrity pop star? And can she forgive him for lying?

小淩: I usually don’t get to enjoy a Leehom movie since he gets small roles next to giant names but since he wrote the story, directed and starred in this film I was hoping for a change and I got it. Very simply put, if you love music then you’ll love this movie. This film’s theme takes you back to kid school plays, child-like daydreams, and traces all the nostalgia of a student’s daily life. If anyone doubts how gifted and genius Leehom Wang is in the arts of music, then probably this film will shift your train of thought towards fonder appreciation. I have madd respects for his wide spectrum of music appreciation. Good music is simply good music to me no matter if it’s folk opera, hiphop, rock, jazz, reggae, pop, country, indie, dance, electric, blues, and some. So I wish you movie goers will bring out your child-like open heart, open ears, and soaring vision to this cineplex… and enjoy the show.

interesting choice of movie. i was never fond of either one as an actor, one is too pretty, the other is a good musician, acting wise, i can’t say the same. lol.

but that last poster is gorgeous. LYF should never film modern when she looks like a goddess in ancient series.

will give this a try tonight! thanks keane!

I like this choice of yours too! I watched the first few minutes and it was enjoyable. The opening scene in the car had a wth quality that was fun 🙂 Also, it’s great to see Liu Yi Fei in a modern drama.

I know the file is big but are you going to make a mirror? I don’t like places that discriminate against my web browser, Safari.

Weeee ~ Just finished this minutes ago with my date Mr. Popcorn! 😎

Unexpectedly cute and funny. Love Wang Lee Hom for making fun of his big nose throughout the film. I especially love the bee-sting scene. haha XD My parents say big nose symbolizes fortune in Chinese culture, does anyone else know this?

I also enjoyed the smooth blend between modern settings and ancient arts. No one looks as perfect as Liu Yi Fei. Although her dramatic questioning, “Why did he lie to me?” had me rolling my eyes. Her acting is still out there.

The musical scores and songs are lovely! Thanks Keane!

“My parents say big nose symbolizes fortune in Chinese culture” all i can say is AMEN! i have a big nose (not really big actually.. hehe) and some of my friends kiddingly said that i better go to Korea and do plastic surgery.. so then i’ll answer them this way “big nose, big fortune” hehe, thanks Kap!

I am aware of such face readings yet I haven’t dived in details about them… calling big noses as “dragon fortune noses” something like that… for all my close friends with this kind of nose are all Trust Fund Babies to start. (= You also have to examine the nose stem whether it’s longer or shorter which represents ‘abundance’ (shorter the better).
