Keiko Kitagawa as Yukari ‘Caroline’ Hayasaka
Osamu Mukai as Jouji ‘George’ KoizumiPlot: Yukari Hayasaka (Keiko Kitagawa) is a high school student who has become tired of her life of constant schooling. She then comes across a group of student fashion designers in need of a model for their “Paradise Kiss” clothing label. I will enjoy a live action done well, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, for I think this film although is not one of the best yet it definitely can get tossed in the good pile. I love the make-up, camera usage, lighting, and most importantly THE COSTUMES. Can I raid George‘s closet? Pretty please. I’ve been a good girl thus far, well, I’m not a saint but pretty close. I love these dedicated actors and actresses, but I couldn’t like Kento as Arashi. I was in WTH mode every time he was on screen; just because he’s wearing leather doesn’t make him Arashi ‘kay. Where are all the piercings? Why is he less of an A-hole in this movie? Then, Caroline and George… WTH x 2. I know Osamu and Keiko are beautiful people but George is… is the Devil in high end clothes and Caroline is… is this donkey who just loves George whipping (it’s a metaphor peeps) her into an independent person. I love to hate Caroline because I want George to myself. Tahehe~ I couldn’t hate Keiko as Caroline at all; she’s too nice looking for me to pick a point to start. Frustrating!
Ugh, I have a tooth to pick about the film’s story too. It has so, so much potential yet fail to deliver what avid anime and manga fans crave. I hate that this film tamed the sexual tension amongst the couples. Why? In order to make this film a rated PG movie? C’mon… as a producer and/or director, if you are gonna hire sexy looking actors and actresses, make sure you max out their seductive card. I’m sorry to say, I enjoyed looking at cosplay fans more than a few of these cast members. Oh-oh, and raise your hand if you agree with me on this, I loved every designer student ever an extra or had a line in this film. How cool are they!?!
This is the second time I’ve seen Keiko Kitagawa on screen, my first time seems eons ago in the drama “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” as Sailor Mars (who was my least fav sailor guardian) and third time’s a charm recently marathoning “The Fast and the Furious” series with my god-brothers. Oh. Em. Gee~ Keiko was in “Tokyo Drift.” And well, (sheepishly speaking) I started watching this movie truly for Osamu Mukai. Love-love-love him in “Beck” and “Atashinchi no Danshi” so I try to follow every project he’s associated in even though it’s a flop. Too bad he was not devilish enough for me in this movie. He couldn’t shake the guy-next-door appeal off his cute face. Shame, but he is worth a toothache for overall. Root canal even. Bring it! For all the glitz and glamour, I can’t phase the fact that Shunji Igarashi can practically steal the show portraying the soft dame, Isabella.

,I had a lukewarm reaction watching the anime so I wasn’t interested to see this movie, even with the cutie pier from Atashinchi as lead, especially after reading a review where it was touted as a disappointment. Maybe this write up will give me a kick in the butt and go download it. 🙂
OTOH, Bokura Ga Ita was an anime I watched along with my roommate. She was an avid fan but I was just frustrated with the 2 leads, but when I watched the live version (the first part), I loved it. Maybe it’s my love for Ikuta Toma ?

I suddenly thought of “Bad Translator” website when looking at the pictures. Although its probably not the case (since they are costumes) it looks like white people dressed like japanese people dressing like white people. Do you know what I mean? In case you haven’t heard of it, Bad Translator translates a phrase back and fourth between a number of different languages to see what crazy translations Google Translate comes up with.

Well, I did filter out bad cosplay interpretations, and try to pick those ones more desirable. Hee~
If it weren’t for Japanese fascinations of being taller, slimmer, and endowed with European features then all the circus hoopla wouldn’t have been born, right? This was way before PS was able to advance at today’s elite procedures. So, I think cosplay like these examples can truthfully show us a sincere “natural” impression of their manga/anime counterparts. I think even with the best PS skills today can offer still can’t be achieved by the Japanese. Honestly, I find it silly. This is partly the main reason why HAPA babies are getting a boost of popularity in Asia, if not worldwide. I <3 HAPA!
In short, I can appreciate cosplay fans desiring to perfect those manga/anime characters they like. And I can appreciate manga/anime originators who desire for a perfect world they want to create. Honestly, I don't care who or where... I just want to appreciate art in general and it would be nice to see fair trading.
That's MHO. Am I understood? If I'm rambling again then forgive me.

Uhm, not that I’m aware of. Maybe a similar question elsewhere?
So what happens after you click the mp4 link? Do you see the 5 splitted parts to the file? After you DL each part, you must then join all 5 parts to get one file. Have you done this kind of stuff before? I believe we have a protocol for it in F.A.Q #11. There’s other useful tips in that intro as well.

We have many staff members, each person prefers to upload their files differently. Some like to split up one episode into many parts, while others (like myself) prefer to upload one big file. File size matters too. Not many (stable) file hosts allow over 1GB.
Nekaka doesn’t work for some of us, unfortunately (points at self).

I like to choose file hosts which can parallel DL simultaneously, that way folks can grab their stuff a bit faster, and hosts which work for me makes a huge difference. Keeps me happy so I can spread happiness. XD

I loved the costumes/clothes in the movie! Loved the blue dress Keiko wore on stage. But she’s far too skinny here! It’s so easily seen, even in the gif above.
It’s not a very touching movie per se, but for some reason, when she was on stage and she saw her mum, who nodded at her, I felt tears coming to my eyes. That’s coming from someone who’s watched too many dramas and dont feeling anything at supposedly moving scenes anymore… xD

Keeeeeaaaannneeee!!! Thank you for sharing another fun movie 😀 I enjoyed it so much that I want a part two so I can watch ParaKiss come back together and succeed in selling their clothes…oh yea and to see a date scene with Keiko and George because I feel like there should have been one but perhaps that’s just the part of me that watches too much drama speaking 🙂
Keiko did a great job acting throughout the movie but the runway scene was truly amazing…my eyes watered and tears almost fell out…the second part of her walk especially touched my heart. The whole scene was so much a statement about life. Keiko was so elegant and confident walking down the runway which told everyone that she was capable of succeeding in the career path she chose. Her walk back down the runway was golden…I think I’ve rewatched it at least 10 times lol…she sees Tokumori whom is in her life ever since she made the tough decision to follow her own path and then she notices her mom whom she left behind. Keiko feels the pain of her relationship with her mom but forces herself to snap her head back up and keep on walking because you just have to (my *eyes filling up with water* just remembering)…in this moment she was very strong and brave.
You all talk about the anime being great so I definitely have to make time to watch that 🙂
Someone mentioned Kento being a bad fit and I agree…I wanted to photoshop him out of the movie ;D

I LOVE THIS ONEEEEE granted i never watched the anime…. and i was glad that i didnt because apparently they changed the ending for the movie haha. i like happy endings producer-nim <333 my fav part is when george kidnapped caroline and she was freaking out in the car. Sorry, I partied hard NYE. Just posted up my reup mp4 version via splitted files (I did use nekaka in here… hehe~). Either format you choose will require extracting it from rar to grab the file you want. If you haven’t used file joiner/splitter and/or rar programs before then look into our F.A.Q.s page for instructions.
Why so many steps to grab a file? Because I want the file(s) to stay alive longer for many fans hence disguising it is better.
