English Title: Late Blooming Sunflower (Literal)
Japanese Title: 遅咲きのヒマワリ
Cast: Ikuta Toma, Maki Youko, Kiritani Kenta
# of Episodes: 11
Airing Days: Tuesday
Broadcasting Station: Fuji TV
Synopsis: The drama is set at the beautiful Shimanto River in the Kochi prefecture and revolves around a group of seven men and women and the unfolding of their lives.
Ikuta plays a man named ‘Joutarou’, who’s a typical example of the so-called ‘lost generation’ in Japan. The term ‘lost generation’ refers to people who face a scarcity of employment right after graduating from school and therefore are left without any real perspective. He was lucky to find a regular employment, but it didn’t last long and he was laid off due to downsizing. Around the same time he was also dumped by his girlfriend. Fed up with his life, he somehow ends up in a ‘revitalization group’ of the Shimanto River area in Kochi. [Credit: Wiki]

Kap: Let’s begin the fall season of Jdramas! I’ll be camping on this side of the world. *waves*
I think I’ve said enough about Toma in my Hana Kimi 07 post, so I won’t repeat myself here. Yes, I’m late in knowing about him, but better late than never!
About Kiritani Kenta. Not gonna lie but he’s the first Japanese actor that got me saying he’s broodily hot. I first laid my eyes on him in W No Higeki, thanks to the peeps on tumblr. Now, I don’t use tumblr (or know how…) but have recently developed this weird habit of scrolling through the tags of interested subjects, for HOURS, thanks the lord. W No Higeki was being raved by some peeps for having sizzling chemistry and I checked it out. Dangit, the moment I saw gruffy Kenta strutting around in his white shirt and black pants in the police station, I was a goner. Mr. Hottie can generate heat with a wall if he wanted to. As for the drama, not a must watch, but Kenta is perfect in ever frame. What I love most is his offscreen personality. Such a goofball.
So Toma + Kenta = I’m there. Please don’t suck!
