Kap: Other than the beautiful costumes and scenery, the other aspect that the new version did really well is fleshing out the love story between Zi Wei and Er Kang. I didn’t like Ruby and Zhou Jie’s love story instantly yunno. It took me a while to see them as a couple because well, they are one boring pair! I was only 8 then, so all the poems and calligraphy speeches flew right through my ears. The new version made them cute and endearing, as well as mature and wise.

Hai Lu looks like a 12-year old! In modern clothes, she appears very feminine and gentle. And Li Jia Hang? I’m following your career dude! He’s just like a puppy! *pinches*
