[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

The other title, Horizon, Bright Moon, Sabre, is a mouth full so I pick the alternative name which is easier to pronounce and shorter to type. Why do I have interest in this series? Wallace Chung. Do I like him? No. I LOVE this man. He can be cute and charming or dark and cold. And he has an adorable smile completes with amazing screen presence! Superficial? Who?

The plot in a nutshell: Yang Chang Feng, the God of Sabre, is murdered 24 years ago. His son, Fu Hong Xue (Wallace), grows up and seeks revenge. During his journey, he meets buddy Ye Kai (Baron Chen) and falls in love with a girl, who resembles his old flame. The most shocking truth is of course the secret behind his birth….(really, what ELSE could it be?)

This drama is another adaptation of the novel written by Gu Long. Some claim the plot has details and characters from another novel, Bordertown Wanderer. You tell me. I don’t know.

Trailer:

Alice: Oh my gosh, the hair! THE HAIR! He looks like an old man with a young face entering the phase of hair loss. This is terrifying! >:[ My other complaint is the female cast members. They look like babies next to my grown man (albeit he has a baby face…but still!). I like the costumes though. Looks light weight on both genders and colorful.

Hahaha! I see the silly Crown Prince from Jade Palace!
Is this any good? The only other face i recognize is Baron Chen – last, and i might add first, time i saw him was in Fated To Love You with his terrible girly hairstyle

Alice – OMG!  I found another Wallace Chung lover!  I LOVE this guy, too!  He's so handsome and tall.  I especially love his villain role in Ni Shui Han!  He's so hot in there that he makes sleeping with the enemy sexy somehow. :p  I am writing a fanfic that I started years ago.  When I fell in love with Wallace Chung, I added him to my story.  He's in a flashback story, so his parts can be read alone without having to read the entire story.  If you love Wallace as much as I do, please give my story a try.  Wallace's part starts on Chapter 83.  If you do decide to read, please leave me comments to let me know you're reading.  It's so hard to find Wallace fans to read my story, since most of his fans read Chinese.

Annette, it hasn't come out yet so I'm not sure about the quality. I'm hoping that it's good since my cute and very very handsome Wallace is in it! Even…with the…horrible hair.

Melanie, YAY! Another Wallace's fan! I will definitely give your fanfic a try and maybe do more. But everything has to wait until I finish my research paper. T_T

I'm looking forward to "Yi Chu Ji Fa". Practically salivating right now!! =D

  4. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Alice – First, thanks in advance for reading my fanfic when you get a chance.  I'm actually doing some revisions since I last posted here.  Originally, I was only going to do a short flashback story with Wallace embedded within my main Legendary Book story.  Now, his character is getting so popular with readers that I am going to take that flashback story out and expand it to a prequel story for Legendary Book.  That way, Wallace can be the lead in his own story.

Yea, I agree that Wallace's hair looks really bad in this series.  He almost looks like he has a receding hairline here.  However, I don't think the female stars look that young next to him.  Maybe Zhang Meng looks young, but the actress who plays Ming Yue Xin (the actress with the beehive hairdo) looks rather mature.  I also think the actresses playing his love interests in this series aren't beautiful enough for my Wallace.  I've seen him paired with really beautiful women, like Xiao Song Jia in Ni Shui Han.

I'm looking forward to Yi Chu Ji Fa, too!  When is No Choice coming out?

  5. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Melanie, no problem. Need to share some Wallace love around here! Did your revision start?

ha! Beehive hairdo, the girl in white. She does look mature compared to the pink girl. I know China has a lot of beauties but somehow they don't get to lock lips with my Wallace! T_T…not that I won't be jealous but yunno! =P

The last time I check No Choice, they say it's this year…but that's just me, not knowing any Chinese… I hope subbing group picks up "Yi Chu Ji Fa". Please!

  6. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Well, my story so far has 88 chapters.  I aim to finish at 100 chapters.  Anyway, I started writing this story many years ago, before I even knew who Wallace Chung was.  About 1 year ago, I started to fall in love with Wallace after watching Ni Shui Han.  Hence, I added him into my story starting at chapter 83.  He appears in a flashback story, which is suppose to be short.  However, his evil character has acquired a few fans and somehow this "short" flashback story has spiraled into something much more elaborate than I had originally intended.  Even now, the flashback story has dominated 6 long chapters.  Because it is taking too much time away from the main story, I have decided to take the flashback story out of the main story and extend it into a complete story of its own, mainly a prequel to the original Legendary Book of Sun-Moon Swordplay story.

So to answer your question…  Yes, I've started revising chapters 83-88 to integrate them into a prequel story.  The original story will be chapters 1-82 and continuing.  I will therefore be writing the prequel and the original story simultaneously from now on.

I'm so glad to have found you!  Usually, I have no one to talk to about Wallace, since most of his fans read and write Chinese and discuss about him in the Chinese forums.  Unfortunately, I don't know how to read or write Chinese, so I am limited to English forums, and he doesn't have very many English literate fans.  🙁  This is why I can't even share my passion for Wallace through my writing with his fans, since no one wants to read my little story on him (chapters 83-88, which are now going to be in a prequel story) simply because it's written in English.  🙁

Wallace locked lips plenty times with Li Xiao Ran in Too Late To Say I Love You.  They had quite a bit of chemistry in there.  But I'll be brutally honest, at the risk of offending Li Xiao Ran fans.  I think LXR is a fine actresses and held her own spotlight well in the presence of Wallace's intense and charismatic acting.  However, she's not the exquisite beauty I imagined who could hold Murong Feng's (Wallace's character) interest for so many years in that drama.  She's attractive, but certainly not gorgeous.  Plus, something really bothered me in the drama.  I know LXR is younger than Wallace by 1-2 years, but she just looks like an older sister next to Wallace's Murong Feng in Too Late To Say I Love You!

  7. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

baron should trade hair with wallace…lol

  8. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

I do like Baron's hair better than Wallace's.  However, I think I prefer the traditional wuxia men's hairstyle in the olden days, just very simple, pulled back away from the face, and clean-cut with no weird frills like curls or strange braids.

  9. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Melanie, I understand your frustration. When I go to english forums, I rarely see discussion in Wallace Chung's thread. And since I can't read/write Chinese, I'm stuck in the middle, just spazzing about him by myself or with my friends, who don't really watch Cdramas. T_T

I saw him first in Meteor Garden but he wasn't the main dude. Still, I had a good impression of this boy (as I called him back then). Then my fandom exploded ever since I saw his humorous performance as Zhui Ming in "The Four Detective Guards". The hair is gorgeous (it's always the hair for me!!), showcasing his handsome face really well. =D

Then came "The Patriotic Knights"…I liked him with the beggar girl. They're cute but their story came way way too late.

It's so hard to watch his latest dramas since it's not as popular as others and hence don't get subbed. Too Late To Say I love You has 8 or 9 episodes subbed on youtube…and it's not enough to quench my thirst. I agree with your assessment. I was under the impression that the leading lady, LXR, was older than him. Yikes. o.o

  10. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

    Alice –
I guess I'm better off than you then.  I don't know how to read/write Chinese, but I can understand about 80-90% of Mandarin, so I don't need to wait for Eng subs.

I'm a big hair person, too!  I feel like the hair department has been conspiring against poor Wallace these days by giving him bad wuxia hairstyles.  🙁

I haven't seen The Four Detective Guards or Wallace's earlier works.  However, I have seen Patriotic Knights.  I LOVED him in there!  He was awesome as the reserved hero.  I felt that he stole the show from the male lead.  His character Li Nan Xing had such potential, but too bad the storyline didn't elaborate on his character.  I thought he and He Mei Tian (who played the beggar girl) were cute together, but I almost felt like they turned to each other because their first choices didn't want them.  🙁  Their romance didn't have much development and somehow it felt unreal, like their love came out of nowhere.

If you haven't seen Ni Shui Han (aka Treacherous Waters), you should definitely watch it!  This was the drama that turned me into a Wallace Chung fan about 1-2 years ago.  Before that, I didn't even know who he was.  Now suddenly, I'm a zealous fan.  He plays a villain in this drama, but oh such a sexy and hot villain!  His character is very multi-faceted and elicits a lot of sympathy from the audience despite his evilness.

Oh, it's good that you agree with me about LXR looking older than Wallace in Too Late To Say I Love You!  Phew!  I thought I was going to get stoned by saying that about LXR!  If you think she looks like an older sister in the beginning, then wait until you get to the middle part of the drama.  She actually looks motherly next to him once she starts sporting her matronly bun hairstyle.

If you don't already know about this site below, then please come here to discuss with me about Wallace Chung!  Lately, I'm the only one there talking about Wallace.  I feel like I'm talking to myself.  🙁

    http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/showthread.php?7934-Wallace-Chung

Of course, I would also be happy to talk about Wallace here with you, too!

By the way, you mentioned about a research paper in your previous response.  Do you mind my asking what kind of research you do?

  11. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Melanie, ah! So you're sorta like most of my friends, they can only understand, which is perfectly helpful to them…when watching dramas. Boo me!!

You should definitely watch "The Four Detective Guards" although you might bite your pillow in frustration b/c the main guy (Korean actor) gets all the love. I'm still baffled to this day…what was the writer thinking?!! But his character is very cute, hilarious with all the cross-dressing too. haha XD

Yes! He Mei Tian! That's her name. You're right, their story didn't leave a deep impression (sudden like a lightning marriage, ha!). The writer squeezed everything in the end to assure that everyone has a partner. I like them individually so together they're lovely. Hope they get to collaborate again. ♥♥♥

Ni Shui Han, is it the one with him having curly bangs?! Hah! I remember shaking my head when I stumbled on a picture some time ago. I can sense his popularity through that drama. A lot of fanmade mvs on youtube.

This is sorta mean but when you said "matronly bun hairstyle" I pictured LXR patting Wallace's head saying, "Baby face, eat your congee."

Spcnet! I know about it. I usually read reviews from fans there. Great place for Cdrama discussion. I'll register there and end your loneliness!! ^.^

My research is about the negative portrayal of medical professions in literature and in the media. So I'm watching Grey's Anatomy (again) and House.

  12. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

I did give The Four Detective Guards a try.  However, I stopped after the first few episodes.  The Korean guy was such a bad actor that I couldn't stand him.  Plus, he was not hot.  Rather, he looked like he had back problems with his kyphotic posture (shoulders hunched forward).  I think he was trying to look cool and stoic, but he only ended up looking sort of constipated.  :p

Yes, Ni Shui Han is the series where Wallace had curls.  Although I loathe weird hairstyles on men in wuxia, I thought Wallace carried off the curls surprisingly well!  The still pictures didn't do him justice.  Even the MVs didn't quite do him justice.  You simply have to watch the series to realize how hot he is.  In live action, with his awesome acting skills and screen presence, he was so HOT and SEXY!  That guy is one hot villain.  He makes sleeping with the enemy cool.  😀

Hahahaha!  "Baby face, eat your congee!"  OMG, now I can never think of LXR and Wallace in Too Late To Say I Love You in the same way ever again! In the series, Wallace's Murong Feng is suppose to be very manly and tyrannical.  I think he did a fabulous job as a tyrannical military commander, but it would have been nice if his lady were less matronly.  Somehow, the fact that his lady love looks like an "older woman" seems incongruent with his alpha male, masculine persona.

Oh, great!  I'll be looking forward to seeing you on spcnet.  My screen name there is still Melanie.

No way!  Hahaha!  Your research is about the negative portrayal of the medical profession in literature and the media?!  Are you a reporter?  I laugh because I think it's completely true!  Shows like Grey's Anatomy are COMPLETELY off in their portrayal of the medical profession.  I like to watch that show for the laughs, because almost everything on it is false or fabricated to an extreme degree with only a tinge of truth.  First, NOBODY in the real medical field is that unprofessional where he or she jumps into bed left and right with colleagues.  Who has time to make out anyway with so much work and such a high patient load?  They should be spending their every free minute catching some sleep, which is what real doctors do!  Second, how come they have specialists, like the neurosurgeon or the plastic surgeon or the orthopedic surgeon, trolling the trauma bay?  Usually, the ER docs staff the trauma bay and only call the specialists to come down to the ER to evaluate a patient if needed.  The specialists don't randomly just hang out there, leaping at arriving ambulances!  Even the surgical residents don't hang out in the trauma bay unless they're on the ER rotation. They will only go to the ER if they are paged.  Finally, there is one episode in season 1 where they have the surgical intern (Meredith) pick up a heart murmur in a newborn while the pediatric resident misses the murmur!  Now, maybe they have a stupid peds resident, but in reality, we're lucky if the surgeons know which end of the stethoscope to stick in their ears!  No way are they better at picking up heart murmurs in kids than the pediatric residents!  Hahaha!  Ugh!  There are so many more inconsistencies and discrepancies with Grey's Anatomy that I can go on for days!  But I still watch it, because it's so amusing to see what Hollywood thinks of physicians!

Melanie, I suffered through the Korean actor to watch my Wallace Chung's scenes. He's just very very charming. hehe…I notice that he doesn't do a lot of comedy dramas so Detectives is one of the few. The Korean actor did look constipated! haha especially when he twitched his nose to show anger.

Seeing how you really liked Ni Shui Han, I'll give it a try one of these days.

ha! I'm not a reporter, just a student interested in the medical field. The sleeping around is one thing that I totally dislike about Grey's Anatomy. Except for Christina and Burke (and now Owen) who are totally devoted to their partner. Favorite COUPLE!

Nice! You have finished the prequel!! Are you a…writer? or aspiring to be one?

  15. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Yes, I heard Wallace did a really good job in Four Detective Guards and was hilarious in one scene where he cross-dressed.  A lot of people complained that the series was boring because it focused too much on the Korean guy.  Plus, I kept hearing about how outraged people were because none of the female characters liked Wallace's character, while the Korean dude got all the babes.  :p  Fans kept saying, "WHAT?!"  Haha.  C'mon, who wouldn't love Wallace Chung?!  If he wanted to marry me, I'd run away with him.  😀  I didn't watch the series long enough to notice the Korean guy's nose twitch, but I did notice that his acting skills = a block of wood.

I think Ni Shui Han was filmed the same year as Four Detectives.  I've seen MVs of Wallace acting goofy in Four Detectives.  What a difference compared to his role in Ni Shui Han!  That just shows that he can handle a wide range of characters very well.  Good for him!  Wallace had a lot of screen time in Ni Shui Han.  I was quite pleased!

I'm not sure if you've seen another one of his series called Devildom, but he was quite goofy in there, too.  His character was almost slapstick.  Unfortunately, he was only the second male lead, but he had a fair number of scenes.

Both of my stories are works in progress.  I have 6 chapters written for the prequel and the original story has 82 chapters so far.  Even though they aren't complete yet, I really appreciate readers' comments, which really lift my spirits and motivate me to continue writing.  Therefore, when you have time, please do give the prequel story a try.  It has only 6 chapters so far, so it shouldn't take you too long to read.  Plus, it would be cool to have another Wallace fan cheer me along as I write about Wallace.  😀

No, I'm not a professional writer, nor am I an aspiring one. Writing is just a hobby for me.  There aren't that many people interested in reading fanfics these days, so if my livelihood depended on my writing, then I would be homeless and starving now.

Just thought I would share a sexy pic of Wallace with you.  😀

Melanie, your image works in the first comment. Disqus comment system is just weird. hehe I think his stomach can be rippled with more muscles!! I don't have many pictures of this man. Is he popular with endorsers? He should be!!

Yes, the ladies in Detectives…are all blind. That's my conclusion when I finished watching. Wallace was sooo cute with the other girl but she was blindly in love with the main dude. I wanted to bonk her!!

Will check our your story! Definitely!

so if my livelihood depended on my writing, then I would be homeless and starving now.

haha my friends says the same thing. She wants to be an artist. But artists usually get famous after they're dead. Strange, strange world.

  17. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Ha!  That pic of Wallace in drag is hilarious!  Thanks for sharing!  I wonder why he doesn't do comedy anymore.  I notice he plays a lot of serious dramas nowadays.  Have you seen his latest drama Pu Ti Shu Xia (Under the Bodhi Tree)?  It's so full of angst!  Wallace, of course, looks handsome in there, but I couldn't stand all three females playing his love interests!  One looked really old next to Wallace (another big sister or cougar for poor Wallace), one was too bratty but she turned out ok in the end, and the leading lady was too weak in character and wimpy!  Ugh!  I notice poor Wallace rarely gets hot actresses.  He usually gets the older ladies.  That's why I like Ni Shui Han so much.  At least he gets a beautiful actress, for once!

To be fair to Wallace, he's not a male model, so I don't expect him to have a super six pack for abs.  I think his subtle muscular build is very sexy. I don't like men who are so muscular that I can see their veins popping out grotesquely.

Thanks for checking out my stories when you get a chance.  When you do read, please leave me some comments.  I would really appreciate it!

Some pics of Xiao Song Jia (Wallace's beautiful costar in Ni Shui Han) and Wallace below:

  18. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Melanie, I notice that too. He plays serious dramas and wears a lot of uniform. I don't complain cause he looks sexy in them! =P No, I haven't watched Under the Bodhi Tree. Another period dramas?! 53 episodes! W/o english sub. I'm done for.

Don't worry, what's the point of reading if I don't leave a piece of thought behind? =D

Wow, his co-star Xiao Song Jia has a great body! hehe! Just look at that photo where she caresses his neck….*calms myself*

I wish he'd pair up with these ladies again!

  19. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Yes, I completely agree that Wallace looks HOT in uniform!  I saw a youtube video of Mickey He in some new drama (don't remember the drama's name) and he was wearing a very similar looking military uniform to the one Wallace was wearing in Too Late To Say I Love You, and Mickey did not look hot whereas Wallace did.

Yes, Under the Bodhi Tree is a period drama.  Wallace Looks so handsome and young in the traditional long gown!  Seriously, he doesn't look like he's in his late 30s!  But the drama was very frustrating to watch.  Like all angst-ridden dramas, there was a continuous string of misunderstandings between the male and female leads, which could have been avoided if they communicated well with each other.  Sometimes, I think people who can't communicate with their loved ones, whether verbally or through body language or actions, probably aren't truly in love.  If two people are truly in love and understand each other, they won't let stupid misunderstandings drive them apart.  In the drama, Wallace's character trusted and understood his lady love.  It was the girl who doubted Wallace's love for her, which then led to a sting of unfortunate events!  Of course, there was the meddling "other woman," played by the older looking lady, who added fuel to their misunderstandings.  Very frustrating!  I don't like such dramas.  That's why I prefer martial arts dramas.  At least, there is more emphasis on a legendary sword or martial arts manual and less perseveration on frustratingly angst-ridden dilemmas of the heart.  Anyway, one of the girls in Under the Bodhi Tree (the bratty one who turns out ok in the end – Yang Rui) will be playing Wallace's love interest in Yi Chu Ji Fa.

Thanks for the two pics.  Is the girl in the first pic He Mei Tian?  I heard a lot of people liked Rebecca Wang in Four Detectives and wished her character would end up with Wallace's character.  I've always thought Rebecca was relatively attractive but never really gorgeous or classically beautiful.  However, she seems nice in interviews, so I like her well enough.  🙂

Yes, Song Jia (Wallace's costar in Ni Shui Han) is pretty hot.  I heard in an interview somewhere that her male costars dubbed her "hu mei," which I believe loosely translates into "beautiful fox spirit."  Her male costars say that she has an indescribably sexy appeal that attracts men.  In one interview with Wallace, the interviewer asked Wallace which actresses he had kissed before onscreen.  While the interviewer counted off a bunch of actresses' names, the only name out of Wallace's mouth was Song Jia. I don't think he even kissed her in Ni Shui Han, so I have no idea why he thought of her.  Perhaps he kissed her off screen?  :p  I also heard there's a rumor that he likes her, but she says they are just friends.  It's difficult to get any romantic news on Wallace, since he keeps such a low profile with regards to his personal life.

Some more Wallace and Song Jia pics!  You can tell that I like this onscreen couple.  🙂  I actually wanted to use Song Jia as the love interest for Wallace in my fanfic (the prequel), but one of my very loyal readers loves Sun Fei Fei with Wallace.  To accommodate her request, I casted SFF as Wallace's love interest instead.  Besides, I think SFF is quite lovely.

Anyway, here are the Song Jia and Wallace pics!

  20. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Oh yea! Misunderstandings for the sake of driving the couples apart drives me nuts! The oh-very-simple solution is just to talk it out but these writers want to be dramatic with their characters = draggy, repetitive plot lines!

The first pic is indeed He Mei Tian. Her hairstyle is so cute! You know, at the time, my friends and I were so sure Rebecca's character would realize she loves Wallace in the end! But no! That didn't happen! Dang it writers!

I can see where the boys come from. Song Jia has smothering sex appeal. KISS IN REAL LIFE!! That breaks my heart a little but Wallace's happiness is our priority. *breathes*

    Thanks for pictures Melanie!! ^^

  21. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Melanie, I actually don't remember. He likes one of the girls who also likes the Korean actor. He pines over her for a good number of episodes….she's pretty though (name is Shui Ling). It's easier to say ALL the females like the Korean actor. When you watch, you'll find yourself shaking in anger. How?? WHY? I might rewatch the ending to find out!!

It's hard to find an actress that could steal/share the same screen charisma as Wallace (and not old-looking). He Mei Tian is really cute but she looks so young in dramas. Almost like a little kid.

No, I haven't watched King of Shanghai. I think I spend more time watching beautiful mvs than watching his dramas. That mustache is sexy as heck! haha! XD The lady…ah, another maternal wife?!!

What I'm hoping is that Wallace starts to act in popular drama/script writer. I think he has done enough period dramas already. More people need to see how awesome he is! And to do that, we need english subtitles for fans. And as we know it, only popular dramas get subbed. T__T

Song Jia slept next to him? GIRL IS LUCKY!! He's so sweet in your description!! Reading it makes me squeal already, I can't imagine my reaction seeing him being so considerate. AND HUMOROUS. Best quality everrr!

Don't worry about going on and on. I'll see you at spcnet soon.

I'm from Massachusetts, USA! It's burrrr cold here. =)

  22. 27 thoughts on “[Trailer] Cdrama: The Magic Blade

Maybe it's because I've never seen Shui Ling in her younger days, but she seems only attractive to me, rather than beautiful.  I think it's the eyes.  Her eyes aren't that attention grabbing.  They're rather nondescript.

Yes, I agree it's hard to find an actress who matches Wallace in youth and acting skills.  Well, that's ok.  I mostly watch the series for Wallace only, anyway.  But it would be nice to have his female costar look beautiful and charismatic also.  So far, I think Song Jia is his most stunningly beautiful costar, despite her mediocre acting skills.  She's actually very sweet and funny in real life (from interviews), despite the "fox spirit" name her male costars have dubbed her.  I kind of feel bad for her, in this sense, since being called a fox spirit is not really a good thing.  Traditionally, fox spirits are synonymous with seductive female spirits who lure men to their death by consuming their life energy.  :p

Yes, I saw Wallace's mustache in King of Shanghai in the MVs.  I think it's really sexy, too!  😀   Normally, I like clean-cut men.  But somehow, in the pic below (see below), I find Wallace's facial hair SO HOT and SEXY!  It just makes him slightly bad boy and roguish, especially with the shirt off.  I bet it tickles when he kisses her in that pic!

Well, according to the article, they did indeed sleep together, but I don't think anything naughty happened, if you know what I mean.  There were probably other cast members sleeping in the same tent.  Even if Wallace wanted to, it was kinda hard to make an amorous move with a ton of people around.  :p  But he was a gallant gentleman and was simply trying to shield Song Jia from the wind and dust.  Naturally, the speculation is that he likes her, since there are other female cast members, and he doesn't make a special effort to sleep next to them to shield them from the elements.  Besides, sleeping together was probably not as romantic as we think, as there were a lot of intrusions.  In one interview, Wallace mentioned that, while filming on the set, there was no wake-up call. Instead, there was a "wake-up person" who barged into people tents/rooms, yanked off the actor's blankets in the freezing morning chill and screamed, "Wake up!"  When the interviewer wiggled his eyebrows at Wallace and asked if the "wake-up person" was female or male, Wallace answered female.  BUT, he said this "wake-up person" was old enough to be his grandma.  Hahaha!

Which dramas would be considered "more popular" for Wallace to act in?  You mean, pop idol dramas?  I don't think Wallace is into those kinds of dramas.  He picks very serious dramas and roles these days.  Plus, the word on the street is that his Too Late To Say I Love You drama made him insanely popular amongst the female audiences.  Is that drama being subbed in English?  Also, Yi Chu Ji Fa and No Choice seem like pretty interesting dramas.  I don't see why they wouldn't be popular.  I'm so very much looking forward to Tian Ya Ming Yue Dao, though, despite Wallace's bad hair in there.  I'm a wuxia lover.

Massachusetts, huh?!  How cold is it there right now???  It was about 68 degrees F in California the other day, and I was already freezing!  We Californians are wimps, right?  😀

Oh, you're at spcnet?  Come join me in the Wallace Chung thread in the Actor section or in one of my story threads in the Fan Fiction section!  There's also a very good thread on Wallace's drama Too Late To Say I Love You in the Mainland China TV Series section, but it contains a lot of spoilers.  There's also a  Tian Ya Ming Yue Dao thread in the Mainland China TV Series section.

Alice – I don't know if you've already seen this video.  It's very well made and is part of a series of fan-made MVs with Wallace Chung playing the role of twin brothers who fall in love with the same woman (played by Song Jia).  I uploaded one video for you.  If you want to see the rest, let me know.  🙂

Here's a Horizon, Bright Moon, Sabre MV.  Nice song.  🙂  Wallace's hair actually doesn't look too bad in live action, but I still have reservations about the hairstyle.  It makes his forehead look too high.  Seriously, the hair department could have done better for him.

Hey, Alice!  How have you been?  Hope everything is going well for you and you are enjoying the holidays.  Anyway, I have this feeling that you like The Four Constables, so I have some news on that.

Hahaha! Check out this interview with Wallace Chung in 2007. At 8:49 minutes in the interview, Wallace talks about his filming experience with Cha In Pyo, the Koren actor who played Tie Shou in Four Constables. (Wallace played Zhui Ming.) Anyway, Cha In Pyo doesn't speak Mandarin, so mischievous Wallace decides to "teach" the Korean guy some Mandarin. So…Wallace teaches Cha In Pyo to say in Mandarin, "If men aren't bad, then women won't love them."  Then he tells Cha In Pyo to go practice that phrase on all the actresses. Of course, the poor Korean dude gets laughed at by the women whenever he tries out his Mandarin lines on the actresses.  Bad Wallace!  And Wallace has the nerve to say that he is doing Cha In Pyo a favor by teaching him a conversation starter phrase.
