So the day has finally come, the last two episodes of Korean Variety show “Family Outing” Season 1. For those who are still in the darkness, Season 2 will begin airing after the these two episodes aired with a complete new cast and some changes to the format. I’m disappointed and hurt when the PD said that Season 1 is like a college trip. If anything, FO is the fans’ warmth and happiness on Sundays, to read that it is merely a college trip frustrates me.

I’m skeptical with Season 2 though, both cast and format-wise. The cast include SNSD’s Yoona, 2PM’s Taecyeon, 2AM’s Jo Kwon, Kim Won-hee, Yoon Sang-hyun (Queen of Housewives), Ji Sang-Ryul, and Shin Bong-su. So far, the new season lacks a prominent MC. Won-hee is funny but I hope she drops her domineering attitude from the last time 2/3 notches. Jo-kwon is a good choice, the guy is hilarious and cheeky. Taecyeon is an eye candy for the ladies but I hope he can carry on with the show. Yoona, I’m in doubt. I have seen a lot of variety shows with SNSD but Yoona doesn’t strike me as the funny one in the bunch. Yes, she is pretty and strong, however, those alone does not say anything about being funny. But of course, everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves therefore good luck to her. I don’t know much about Yoon Sang Hyun but he appears to be an eloquent man. Sang Ryul and Bong Su are comedians yet sometimes their jokes come off stiff and forced. In the end, I will still be watching Season 2…let’s see what SBS has up their sleeves. =)

– It’s probably weird saying this but please welcome the old members back! Park Yejin, Lee Chunhee, and Park Siyeon. Poor Chunjin,the last time they were on, they cried their hearts out. Now that they’re back, tears will follow….

– Poor JAESUK!! haha! Having the legs of two muscular men over your head isn’t a comfortable thing. I know that many of you guys still doesn’t like Shiyeon but I grew to adore her silent humor. She isn’t aggressive/outgoing as Hyori or sweet/savage like Yejin but she’s definitely not a boring person. She shines when she is with a few people. Some would say that she doesn’t “try” to fit in with the family like Haejin. But it’s hard to judge when we are behind the our laptop screen and not filming with her. In the third scene above, cheeky Chunhee thought he could defeat Stepmother Sooro…but the plan….well….failed. XD On a random note, Yejin’s socks have hello kitty on it! HAHA!

– I’m very proud of Hyori in this scene because I thought she would use her ultimate “clawing” technique with Yejin’s hair…..haha XD (Daesung and Chunhee have plenty of that…) Instead, she went for the neck and grabbed Yejin’s down to her lap. It was sweet seeing the two sisters in each other’s “embrace” for the lack of a better word… And JongKook was hilarious being kicked by Yejin and Shiyeon…he was so helpless…hehe =D

– I’m definitely gonna miss the “Fake Scandal” of JongKook and Lady Yejin. He was always gentle to Yejin but here she killed him and said “I’m sorry”. Jongkook’s cute expression after he was killed brutally. XD

– And of course the battle of the two sisters can’t be left out when Hyori challenged, “Yejin! Come out!” I thought Yejin was going down since Hyori had her legs wrapped around Yejin’s body. But heck NO! Savage Yejin did the back-kick! HAHA Everyone was cracking up…. I basically spat out my ramen noodle. Rule #1, never eat/drink anything while watching “Family Outing”. First was Jaesuk, now it’s the elderly Jongshin being bullied by JongKook and Sooro! hehe

– I hope I’m not the only one who noticed Yejin’s mermaid’s pose behind Jaesuk. It’s so different from her ‘I-gotcha-chicken’ face. She looks gorgeous in that scene. And of course, she received her award of the night! (the golden chicken!)

The following thumbnails (clickable) are of the family hugs after they read their letter. It was heart-breaking even without subtitle. I’m angry that they didn’t show ChunJin’s hug! I’m sure Chunhee hugged Yejin lightly because his arm was reaching towards her back…. Did Haejin and Shi Yeon hug?

– Strings were tugging at my heart seeing Haejin and ShiYeon cry…
