You know when they come, they come in crowds! Min Pechaya is another Thai actress soon to meet Chinese fans on the big screen with collaborated horror movie The Nursery (育婴室) along with actor Zhu Yi Long. I hope no one is eating when they read this post…. because the movie centers on the ancient practice of consuming human flesh…. and I think the title hint enough at the evil spirits to come back and haunt those with a wicked heart! *chills*

Movie Date with Kap (25): Pee Mak Phra Khanong 2013
It’s been a long time since I did a Movie Date for my fellow drifters! Keane should be crowned the Queen of Movies around here. So I shall temporarily sit in her seat while she’s away. 😛 I bring you the monstrous breakout Thai movie this spring! Pee Mak Phra Khanong! A remake of the classic ghost story, but this time, we have amusing twists to keep the story fresh. The road to the truth is paved with friendship and love, what’s not to like? Although this movie is labeled as a horror-comedy, trust me that it’s not scary at all. Prepare to be tickled. And maybe drop a few tears.
“I’m sorry. You can’t get to die before me. Please promise me. When I’m gone, you’ll have to carry on.”
Movie Date with Kap (4): The Love of Siam
Happy New Year readers at ACW! I decided to post up this Thai movie now to anchor an attitude towards gay people. Although many people have accepted gay couples, others still don’t. I think it’s a healthy practice for us to be open-minded about one’s sexual orientation. It’s not their choice. Even if you don’t agree with them, don’t be harsh and criticizing. Because at the end of the day, we can’t control whom we love. We can only accept who we are and live life to its fullest potential without any regrets.
Movie Date with Kap (3): Hello Stranger
I think I have the perfect gift for everyone. Hello Stranger is currently sitting comfortably in the #1 spot on my Thai movie list. It’s realistic, endearing, and freakin HILARIOUS. I haven’t laughed this much watching a Thai movie. It’s strange, how this movie lacks the usual glamor of a high-budget movie but still manages to be engaging and beautiful.
Movie Date with Kap (2): SuckSeed
A second Thai movie, recommended by the wonderful Keane! I think Thai Directors have a knack for creating coming-of-age stories that are both relatable and heart-warming. This one reminds me of…Dream High! A story of the underdogs taking over the stage! Discovering their dreams, hopes, and love in the process.
Movie Date with Kap (1): Crazy Little Thing Called Love
This emotion brings a natural blush to our cheeks. The rush of adrenaline when that special person walks by us. The heart-stopping moment when he/she looks in our direction. First Crush. First Love. The experience that remains intact despite our growing wrinkles (gotcha!).
