New banner to celebrate batch 40!

Not much going on in dramaland but music land? Everyone and their grandmas decided to drop a single this past week. Lol. I keep on pushing this batch back and removing bullet points to make individual posts. It’s been…two weeks now? But yes, lots of news.

A Fist Within Four Walls: Episode 3 – 5 “Number means Strength.”

I love this drama.

I LOVE THIS DRAMA! Need I repeat myself? First drama this year to make me squee and scream and kick by the end of each episode. Episode 3-5 must be watched in rapid succession of each other. It covers the whole arc of the first rebellion. I pretty much love everything about A Fist Within Four Walls. There are big, grand moments, but they never forget about the small character moments that poke your heart and make you bleed – for all the good reasons.

Do give the first 5 episodes a try. ❤__❤ I’m still not sure what I want to do with Fist. I want to recap it but there’s no time~ It’s ending in one week and I’m only at Ep. 5. Lol. Watching it slow to extend my enjoyment. Do! Not! Spoil!

A Fist Within Four Walls: Episode 1 & 2 “Fallen Heroes.”

Ohhh. I like what I’m seeing so far. While Chusen crawls at a snail’s place, TVB’s A Fist Within Four Walls is giving me the burst of adrenaline I need! What I love most is that we have several real martial artists in the house, plus the fact that the main leads and supporting characters all went through vigorous training to perform the required stunts. The result is some nice hand-to-hand action scenes! I miss those hic! hah! huh! sounds so much. Wuxia dramas from Mainland series are just not the same with heavy reliance on CGI and fancy shooting lights.

Dicky Cheung, I miss you.

Three Fall TVB dramas to look forward to!

Quite a few solid TVB dramas this year. Though Line Walker went coo-coo and lost its sense of logic and direction after the veterans died, you have to concede to the fact that it started out really well – it was tight, funny, and dramatic. There was action, romance, camaraderie, and suspense all neatly rolled in. Best of all, it successfully achieved the one goal of every production; it drew in talks and generate discussion. People who have never (or rarely) watched Hong Kong dramas were lured in.

Before this year is over, I have three more HK series to follow. Hopefully, you’ll like one of them as well.

Discussion Corner: Line Walker (2014, HKdrama)

 photo Walker08-131.jpg

Still enjoying this drama even if the tonal shifts are jarring at times. For a serious genre, with life and death at stakes, Line Walker befuddles me in its embrace of comedy and happy-go-lucky tunes from time to time, sometimes within seconds of a dramatic scene. I guess even moles need breaks too. Anyway, as Hong Kong dramas air at rapid speed with five episodes a week, it’s hard for me to keep up with recaps so I decided on an alternative – this discussion post! So please join me as we guess and recover the last undercover agent (UC) and the big bad wolf in the police force. You can find this post under the discussion corner tab on the right hand corner of this website!

Please refrain from posting spoilers of the identities of the big wolf/last mole if you’ve read it beforehand in TVB magazines. At least wait until it is revealed in the episodes. Other than that, nothing is restricted!

UPDATED (9/25/14): Episode 16-20 Summary.
