Wang Kai and Ruby Lin lead in Alec Su’s The Devotion of Suspect X

So secretive this production! There was a lot of casting rumors surrounding the new movie to be directed by actor Alec Su, but in the end, it’s not the young faces we saw but two very, very pretty, and well-liked faces of Nick Wang Kai and Ruby Lin. The Devotion of Suspect X (嫌疑人X的献身) is adapted from Japanese novel of the same written by Keigo Higashino (Detective Galileo series), following the intense battle of wits between a very smart Math teacher (Edward Zhang Lu Yi) and an equally intelligent physicist (Nick) over the murder case at the hands of a single mother (Ruby). Mind you, the single mother did KILL her not-nice ex-husband. The math teacher loves and wants to cover up her murder, while the physicist simply desires to reveal the truth.

Battle of wits, sounds like a sexy film already. ;D

Bulletin Board: Cdramaland/ENT News (33)

Caught a break and went to watch The Jungle Book with my little boy. Seems like the running theme in all Disney movies is identifying and enhancing one’s sense of self (be the best of you!) Haven’t watched the original movie or animation series, but I enjoyed the movie and loved it quite a bit. Baloo and his jokes got me rolling.

Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s Wedding Ceremony in Bali

The big day is here for them. Nicky Wu and his ladylove Liu Shi Shi hold their wedding ceremony on the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali. Not as astronomical as other wedding ceremonies, but it fits my picture flawlessly. It’s simple, romantic, and intimate. 🙂

Bu Bu Jing Xin‘s royal couple finally has a happy ending!

Sina’s Weibo Awards Night 2015

Another gathering, this one slightly bigger because everyone has weibo! There are some Korean stars thrown in the mix as well, among them my favorites from Running Man! Did you guys vote? I did. Lol. Zhao Li Ying and Kris Wu are both Weibo Queen and King respectively. Nick was the top dog and lost to Kris in the last few days!

I don’t think I have all awards figured out yet. Too many.

Rong Mo Mo continues her reign of terror at The Left Ear’s promotion

This is just soooo cute not to be posted and shared. I think anyone who has watched Princess Returning Pearl aka Huan Zhu Ge Ge will always remember the infamous character – Rong Ma Ma, the queen’s loyal servant whose weapons are needles and her nails, played by Li Ming Qi. It has been 17 years and our Rong Ma Ma is 79 going to 80 next year. Anytime Zi Wei would beg the king to spare her life, I was convinced the girl is possessed. LOL. Good memories. Beside her, Romance In The Rain‘s costars – Ruby Lin and Leo Ku were also there to support. Too bad Vicki wasn’t there to round out the reunion.

5th Beijing International Film Festival

This is like the best time to check out what movies your favorite stars are in! And how entertaining it is for them to pick which movie to represent if they have more than one! HAR-HAR. It’s funny that some of them actually changed and then walked again for their other movie. 😉 Time to bust out those gowns and jewelries!

Vicki Zhao lends her voice for Alec Su’s The Left Ear

Wow. The nostalgic level for this movie is already up to *HERE* when Alec let the youngins sing The Little Tigers’ Fly With A Carefree and now he’s invited good old friend, Vicki, to sing the theme song for his movie too? You guys are killing my nostalgic pedometer here folks! The more promo we get the more tragic this youth film appears to be… I didn’t read the novel but a quick investigation confirms a certain death. *wails*

Oh you young people are so dramatic! Give me back my rainbows and unicorns!

The Left Ear’s male cast sings The Little Tigers’ Fly With A Carefree Heart as themesong

Awww…. I’m gonna cry. Alec, stop making that face! I remember this song (though not my favorite of theirs) way…way…way back in the days when my aunt used to repeat it on her CD player! For those who don’t know, The Little Tigers was a Taiwanese boy band active in the late 80s and early 90s consisting of Nicky Wu, Julian Chen, and Alec Su (director of The Left Ear.) Now, the new generation of actors get to reboot the song through the directing of Alec. One full circle. ♥♥♥
