Chen Xiao and Yuan Shan Shan’s Above The Clouds to Air
Well, well, well. Another shelved Chen Xiao’s drama, Above The Clouds (云巅之上), finally got the green light to air after two years. You will see the usual Yu Zheng’s stars (boys from Memory Lost), beside the OTP couple played by Chen Xiao and Yuan Shan Shan, with her starring as a country pumpkin going to the city to find her biological mother but somehow ends up as an actress who struggles against numerous showbiz wars and current flower ladies.
Showbiz wars dominate in Chen Xiao’s Above The Clouds
First trailer is out and it’s cray cray all the way through. How many foot trips and slaps can one take in the showbiz before one explodes? Above the Clouds is Yumama‘s first venture into the glitz and glam of modern world. Lol. The story follows our heroine (Yuan Shan Shan) as she moves from the country to the big city to find her biological mother. Somehow, she ends up in the acting world and has to fight with fellow rising starlets for the chance in the spotlight (because you either rise or fall). She meets arrogant top star (Chen Xiao) and melts his heart with her pure beauty and passion for acting.
Filming begins for Chen Xiao and Yuan Shan Shan’s Love Up In The Air
Yu Zheng’s first modern drama (he’s the producer), tentatively called Love Up In the Air (or Cloud in the Air) has a booting ceremony to begin filming on April 18th. I think he’s only interested in messing with the wuxia world; Modern world is enough of a chaotic place without his paws on them. Chen Xiao (Romance of the Condor Heroes) and Yuan Shan Shan (City of Angels) are the leads. I did not remember these two were paired up way back in Beauties of the Emperor! I hated her character so much in that drama…..she literally got every single man she wanted in there! Truth be told, I’m not a fan of this pairing. Yuan Shan Shan has yet to capture me with her performance. Might this be the one?
