Lost Love in Times welcomes fans on set, Liu Shi Shi leaves Tangren

Time for the bird to leave its nest! Liu Shi Shi announces today at the welcoming event for her latest drama, Lost Love in Times (醉玲珑), that her contract with Tangren ends at the end of December and she will exit the company. She wants to make sure everyone knows that there’s a difference between terminating and not renewing contract. She thinks she’s not young anymore and would like to go out and try new things, even hubby Nicky Wu encourages her. As to where she’s moving to, everyone assumes it’s Nicky’s company, but she has yet to officially confirm. Tangren is amicable in their response, “Tangren will always be her home, always as her backer.”

Synopsis Written by Kappy (I only skimmed some chapters of the novel): When I say a rehash of Bu Bu Jing Xin, I’m serious! After being betrayed by her modern boyfriend, our heart-broken heroine (Liu Shi Shi) time-travels to the past by accidentally activating the power behind some magical stones. She enters the body of a dying sorceress in a river. The interesting tidbit here that I wish they would keep is the short exchange of the two souls. We almost never deal with what happens to the soul of the original body; where did it go? Did it die? The sorceress has a heart condition and was gonna die anyway. But I guess they won’t since time-traveling is a no-no these days. Afterwards, she runs into some thieves and is saved by two men. One of the men is 4th Prince, played by William Chan. Our male lead is known as the scheming God of War, cold and quiet. The other guy is 11th Prince and our heroine uses her medical skills to dress 4th Prince’s injuries. Turns out the sorceress belongs to a secret organization tasked with protecting the royal family. Her using dark magic is a source of conflict down the line, with officials against the idea of a King marrying a woman with a precarious, not-so-clean nature/practice. The second male lead is 7th Prince played by Joe Xu Hai Qiao (Hua Qian Gu).

I miss Liu Shi Shi!!! Her recent dramas have been a miss for me and I’ve been really looking forward to her in dramaland again. So, I have high hopes for this drama!!!

She’s owns 40% of Nicky’s company (he gifted to her when they got married), so where else would she go? She’s been a lackluster actress. Hopefully she can grow as an actress, but isn’t improving going by her dramas after BBJX.

Yep, I remember that. Lol. I guess she doesn’t want to outright say it now ~

It’s okay if she leaves Tangren, I felt that they knew it was coming that LSS would soon leave. They only come out with a two or three series a year, and LSS usually do one a year for them anyways. Tangren seems to be very flexible with their artist as well, LSS and Hu Ge has filmed for other production company anyways. LSS has good relation with them still so the can invite her anytime. I haven’t liked or been impressed with any of Nicky Wu’s production, maybe LSS can help her hubby out lol.

Kinda expected it! But woah, I know Nicky gift her part of his company, but 40% shares? That’s a lot! It sounds a little dangerous as well..
William was super adorable in one of the video where reporters went to visit the set and interview the cast! Can’t wait for the drama to be released!!!

Spider web hairdo on LSS. Super awkward.

LSS is kinda like a two-hit wonder right now. Best known for BBJX & DMY (Ballad of the Desert). Hope she picks projects more carefully in the future.

Shi Shi’s other dramas have been successful though. Xuan Yuan Sword and The Imperial Doctress both did well ratings wise. It’s true that she’ll never brush off the title of Ma’ertai Ruoxi, but that’s not to brush away the success of her other works.

Good ratings aren’t always indicative of good work.

Lots of dramas have good ratings because they know how to utilize cliff-hangers.

You can’t discredit LSS, just that she hasn’t done anything worth mentioning since BBJX & DMY.

Do you know what a hit is? Your term is a “two-hit wonder”. A successful work = good ratings = a hit. You can’t based hits on your own enjoyment of them or your own definition of what you feel like is worth mentioning.

This series looks like a combination of bbjx (storyline) and sound of the desert (setting and costume wise). I hope it will be good. I love both bbjx and sotd so much. ?

Lol they are merging then together to summarized her best series before leaving the company hehe. Oh wait i love her in thw strange heroes with wallace as well. Even though she is not the best actress out there some reason she is really likeable. She is a very safe actress, she needs to play a crazy villian or something. I hope to see that in the future!

Right? LOL I miss SOTD though because it was just so lovey dovey and Eddie is so soon worthy. Haha

Eddie Peng and LSS are one of my top fav pairing ever! AH not likely they will be paired again since there was rumors about them dating, probably they will try to keep the rumors out of the way, since both artist have very clean images. Ahh a girl can only wish!! Sound of Desert was my fav series in 2014 lol because of them!

Argh ! Their hair…..why do they have to pull it up so high that they have a broad shining foreheads. I love the leads but gotta pass cos their foreheads are just too distracting.

Their hairstyles don’t accentuate their features :\

What do you think?
