Liu Yi Fei and Reno Wang duet for movie Never Gone

Never Gone (or So Young 2, 致青春·原来你还在这里) is the movie adaptation of So You’re Still Here, written by Xin Yi Wu (So Young). It tells the story of a teenage boy born with a silver spoon and a girl born no stranger to poverty. Young and in love, they have yet to understand what it means to love and not hurt. Wounded, they are separated and our heroine is saddled with a responsibility bigger than her years. Reunited years later, what will happen to the buried love deep in their hearts?

I was surprised Yi Fei duet with Reno instead of Kris, but then a fan said Kris was filming overseas when the recording took place, hence a new arrangement was made. Anyway, lots of pictures ahead!

Stills:

Our female lead, Liu Yi Fei.

LYF is no singer and it shows in her weak range. Wonder why they can’t hire a professional singer with depth and range to vocalize the song! Sigh ~ Nevertheless, she’s stunning in all stills.

Li Qin should already be moving on to first leads, but playing second fiddle again?!!

This is a likable role for Kris, hope he doesn’t disappoint!

knowing lyf fans, i’m sure they’ll praised her voice as cute and sweet lol (and hey why not since they’ve been praising her acting so much recently lol).

I don’t think she sings that bad. To me, I think it sounds good, except that last verse, I guess it should be higher.

liu yi fei’s acting, one word STIFF lol.
kris wu, new and so extremely poor acting, and i honestly don’t see that much potential in this guy either, but really what’s the point of trying to improve his acting when he can still earn big bucks with just his pretty face lol.
BUT i’m pretty sure this movie will be a hit because liu and wu look so pretty in this movie, and with decent script, i don’t see why it can’t be box office, not to mention liu and wu have legions of fan.

So he is doing the right thing. Chinese dramas have so many stiff and wooden actors working and having success.

Yang Yang, Yi Feng, William Chan, Geng Xin, Elvis Han, Chen Xiang and some others are pretty faces that sometimes make an effort to convince me and when they do it’s beautiful, they’re all veteran actors around the same age as Yi Fan.

The guy still is young, rookie and have an entire future to become better actor if he truely wants. He is taking different roles, working with good scripts and great people.

Liu yi fei’s past films have all done badly at the box office. If the film has bad reviews (which I believe it will given the cringeworthy plot and the trailers) it will do badly no matter how much star power it has.

Negativity urk…I thought I left you back when I came on this site.

And yes! Liu Yi Fei’s acting has improved vastly, read any review of her last few works and everyone says so not just her fans. The fact that some of you can’t see it just shows your confirmation bias.

That said…not a fan of this storyline and Kris looks way too young for the role. He still looks like a teen in the later parts of the story.

I think he looks really mature while wearing the Grey suit and he does look kind of adult in some of the scenes. I guess they wanted an actor who can bend and stretch his age for a role and they got him. He’s 26 years old and yet he pulled off the high school boy really well.

They are definitely an attractive pairing and I hope to see them paired again for more works

Nah, they just wanted a fresh meat for the teenagers that are going to watch this film. I doubt they cared much which fresh meat got the role.

How is Kris Wu’s acting poor in those clips? Or Liu Yifei’s? We must be watching different clips then.

I can’t wait for this movie! The MV just came out today with more clips and the music along with the clips can make one quite emotional (I’m guilty) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jykqjugSwA

What do you think?
