Endearing youth film At Cafe 6 with Dong Zi Jian, Cherry Ngan

From the team who created the widely popular You’re the Apple In My Eye, At Cafe 6 (六弄咖啡馆) is adapted from the novel written by Teng Jing Shu and hopes to follow the same success as its elder sibling with the same youthful folly and discovery of complicated feelings. I know I grumble a lot when they produce dozens of youth-themed movies every year, but I always fall for them when promotional materials roll out because everyone looks so darn cute! I’m weak to cuteness. xD Moreover, what is not to love when these rising new talents get a chance to flex their acting skills unabashedly?

Hooked!

At first, I thought the pictures looks way too typical of the genre so I had no interest in watching. But after I scroll down to the end and saw the gorgeous posters… I am sold 8D It is also refreshing to see actually teenagers act in high school movies. I have nothing again Ni Ni, Eddie Peng, Liu Yifei, etc. choosing this kind of roles.. but it feels a little fake at time 😛

The posters give me the same type of feeling as itss predecessor! 🙂

Not conventionally handsome or prety group but they look adorable!! Very fresh and age appropriate! Will watch!!

I actually think this youth film might be a good one, the trailer looks realistic, funny and heartwarming! And like the comments said, I like that everyone looks like normal just your average high schoolers and not super styled, put together gorgeous.

Also, does anyone know how old the main cast is? They really do look like late teens but I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if some are actually well into their twenties.

        20, 22, 23, and 28. Majority in early twenties!

Love that they are not the pretty conventional kids!!

        Thanks for sharing!

It does! I’m already busting a gut at the boys. HA. And the sweet girls look sassy too!

Them not being conventionally beautiful draws in the viewers. =D

Cherry’s looking adorable and like everyone said, they all look very real. Not to say they’re not all cute, but they’re not as unattainably gorgeous…like who ever looks that good in high school?

Question, is NiNi NaNa’s sister? I follow NaBi’s insta, but I don’t usually pay too much attention to her sisters, so I’m not sure. If she is, she seems to be the (one of?) younger one right?

      No wait…older?

I didn’t know Nana has siblings until I searched up this movie and saw the last name Ou Yang. Somehow, that’s a badass last name to me. LOL.

Nana is the middle child in her family (11, 16, 20 [Nini]).

happen to come across a controversy of Ni Ni recently and then realised she’s in this movie. she looks diff in the posters as compared to the photos i’d seen of her.. not that i knew her before coming across that news of her, only heard of Na Na before this.. didn’t realised she’s actually the youngest of the cast? haha..

What’s up with NiNI? I didn’t realize she was in the ent circle aside from that fact that she has a celeb family and her opening pitch thing.

Lol like you I only knew Nana. I knew Nana had sisters and the bare bones of her family info, and sort of knew what her sisters looked like from instagram, but didn’t really think her sisters were like “under the limelight” in any way.

What do you think?
