My review may be severely inaccurate as I began skipping laarge chunks around episode 10 and dropped it completely around 30ish episodes. Be prepared for a crazy mother, illness, irrational decisions and an illogical plot.

    – Story: ✪
It started off with so much potential but became extremely frustrating to watch. The characters were extremely irrational and it got to a point where nothing made any sense…

    – Chemistry: ✪✪
I didn’t feel any spectacular chemistry between the leads or supporting cast. IMO Yang Mi and Huang Xuan don’t match visually and thus they weren’t convincing as a couple.

    – Acting: ✪✪✪½
I saw a slight improvement in Yang Mi’s acting but it is still far from anything to talk about. Huang Xuan was great but all the characters (including Cheng Jiayang) were written so poorly that it is impossible to write about the acting quality.

    – Entertainment Value: ✪
It was far more headache inducing than entertaining.

Do you know a safe site for downloading Boss and me OST? The ones I found are only available in Vietnam and the others are blocked by my internet security software. I’m dying to get the song Roll the dice by Cao San. Thanks!!

    Hi Kappy,
first of all, thank you so much for uploading the OST, *hug and kisses XOXO
This is my personal opinion about this drama so maybe some people will disagree. also sorry for my lame grammar.
    – Story: the drama started off really good, with the usual bickering between the male lead (Cheng Jia Yang/HuangXuan) and Female Lead (Qiao fei/Yang Mi). He is a famous Interpreter, and she is a ambitious student. They started with misunderstanding, and then QF become CJY’s assistant at the institute. he dislike her because of the earlier misunderstanding, but slowly he started to admire her talent and commitment, and then he did his best to mentoring her in a very strict training.
HuangXuan really portray a perfect CJY, with a cool character, brilliant interpreter, sharp tongue, but when falling in love, he became a sweet and passionate caring lover. (he is the one and only reason why i keep torturing my self with this drama)
QiaoFei also a perfect female character at the beginning of drama, she is independent, tough, strong, smart interpreter but also cheerful and soft hearted.
but unfortunately after reaching episode 23 onward, the story became so depressing, so unreasonable, with YangMI character keep lying to HuangXuan, the crazy mother, stalker brother, possessive second female lead, and trouble maker best friend. It really make me feel sad watching a very potential drama became a garbage because of the awful writing.
    – Chemistry: The chemistry between lead couple are amazing, they look so comfortable with each other, especially after they start dating. it’s so sweet that make my heart flutter. the chemistry between Wu Jia Yi (Female best friend) dan Wang Xu Dong (male best friend) also great, even though they keep quarreling from the beginning.
    – Acting: Huang Xuan did a great job portraying Cheng JiaYang, HE IS CJY. i can’t imagine any actor to potray CJY but him. I have read so many comments in dramafever, that said that they kept watching this drama because of Huang Xuan. and he smile is so contagious LOL.
I will pay attention to his future project for now on.
YangMi as QiaoFei.. hmm.. just so-so, at some scene, her expression looks blank.
Li Sierra is not bad as Wu JiaYi, her narcissism, her fiery character, and her bickering with WXD is funny.
Zhang Leon is also not bad as WangXuDong, he is the most consistent character in this drama from beginning to the end.
Zhou Qi Qi’s acting as Wen Xiao Hua is not bad, but her character is so shallow that i mostly skip her part.
Gao Vengo as Gao Jia Ming is sucks to the max. the poor acting, his expression so creepy, and his lipstick color is so disturbing (try to watch and you will understand what i mean), i also skip most of his scenes.
but near the ending, his character change drastically. became a little likeable.
    – Directing: the scene in Switzerland is beautiful
    – Entertainment Value:
    ep.1-22 ✪✪✪✪✪
    ep.23-35 ✪✪✪
    ep.36-42 ✪
just consider this drama ends right after CJY confess his love to QF at episode 21 and they live happily
ever after at episode 22. The End.

I agree with your rating of the episodes! I’m still watching it and that’s how it is feeling like towards the end.

      Second this.

At first i thought vengo should be acting like a coward, but even if he was with his beloved one, his expression was so awful..

This drama was good in the first but then, half way… It was so draggy. Yet i kept watching it to the end lols..

But i heard that this drama got high rating haha..

    Story: ✪

I knew it was bad to start with. I mean, the source material wasn’t anything amazing. I have no idea why some novels are constantly being adapted (Summer’s Desire is just absolute junk imo) when the story is just like any fan fiction out there. I don’t think I can fault the drama for its plot since it can’t help itself but… the dialogue = script is terrible. If the scriptwriter did average it wouldn’t be this bad, but the lines were awful. I offer my deepest sympathies to the actors who had to say them.

    Chemistry: ✪✪½

I would say that the chemistry is average. To be honest I haven’t seen any Cdrama where the actors have sizzling chemistry so… This may be a little generous though. But hey, at least I wasn’t bothered by a lack of chemistry. I guess that’s good enough.

    Acting: ✪✪

One for HX who is the only one doing any acting, half for YM who tried and half for YM’s buddy in the drama. I have no words for HX’s bro and his “ex”. They were sooooooo bad. Especially the brother really. I’d have thought he’s a hooligan by his way of speech and demeanour.

    Directing: ✪

That’s including the editing. The trailer looked beutiful, but the drama itself was so incoherent. Or maybe that was just the version I watched.

    Entertainment Value: ✪

It wasn’t entertaining at all. But since I sat through more than half of it (by ffding). I guess it’s not that bad? The thing is, I kept expecting it to be entertaining, but it never lived up to expectations.

The best things about the series are Huang Xuan’s acting, the cinematographer, and the wardrobe selection and budget. Yang Mi’s acting has improved.

The worst things are the huge number of highly annoying characters from Wen Xiao Hua, her dad, her husband, the male lead’s mother and uncle. Wu Jia Yi and Gao Jia Ming are also annoying half the time. Vengo Gao’s acting needs work. This career line is not the best material for a TV drama, especially for 42 episodes. It’s a perfectly respectable profession, but it’s not exactly a groundbreaking one that is full of surprises. Even when the leads supposedly travel to EU to help out in an emergency, they only show the 2 leads in a snowy area. Yang Mi yells out to Huang Xuan in idol moments. There’s no interpreting to show in this so-called emergency. They often have to borrow some medical drama material to pad things up, and then still need to add the unbearably annoying mother to make the series longer. Several characters like Wu Jia Yi are basically plot devices. The central character is a Mary Sue. The supporting characters in their office are mostly petty except for the Director Tian, which can sometimes give long speeches and is not too interesting. I saw a short publicity video where the producers and/or writers said there are 3 production companies worked hard on the script to adapt this story line. I’m surprised they came up with this script for their final product. The first half of the series is better than the last half.

Plot: 7/10 for the first half, 4/10 for the second half.
The second half has got to be the most frustrating watching experience I’ve ever experienced. Yang Mi’s character makes no sense, noble idiocy coming from her character doesn’t make sense and leave you frustrated and feel sorry for Huang Xuan’s character. At one point, I wish he’d just break up with her and move on.

    Chemistry:9/10
HX & YM has really good chemistry, in some of their conversation they just burst out laughing. They can talk about nothing, their courtship is fun. Huang Xuan is no flower boy, but he’s so charismatic that you feel in love with his character and his smile ~

    Entertertianment Value: 1st half: 9/10; 2nd half: 0/10

What do you think?
