Mo-Cap, short for Motion capture, is process of recording the movement of objects or people. Movies you see like Avatar and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes used the same technology to provide very life-like performances by animated characters. Legend of Ravaging Dynasties (L.O.R.D) is a movie written and directed by Guo Jing Ming (Ice Fantasy, Tiny Times) about the war to gain absolute power and control among the four kingdoms. Yep, that is all I know. X)

The CGI actually looks decent in this which surprises me (seeing as the visual effects of Ice Fantasy leave a lot to be desired).

Well this is a movie which tends to have higher budgets than dramas (such as ice fantasy) so that makes sense.

I’ve read the book and it’s a war among powerful beings called lords.. lots of backstory and details involved so this could emerge to be a huge IP if this movie does well. Yin Chen (Kris Wu’s character) is actually the main character of the novel but it will be interesting to see if they changed it in the movie. Guo Jingming will definitely try to give everyone decent screen time seeing as most of them are pretty huge stars in their own right.

With the amount of big names, I’m positive it will have a healthy following in the cinemas. I’m also interested to see the rest of them in their animated characters!
