Glad to finally see Lu Li! :)) We rarely brought her up in the GPG conversation, although I thought she nailed her role. While Crystal was undoubtedly the true star of the series, acting wise IMO Karina came second. Lu Li is adorable and annoying at the same time LOL.
Love the Cosmo group photo above, they’re indeed a bunch of gorgeous people. And the Crystal-Peter in bathrobe is fantastic.
I’m not too enthusiastic about the possibility of the OTP’s collaboration in another drama, unless the script is as good or as unique as GPG, and Peter’s acting improves.

Haha Kap, I don’t really see Ethan in him, but I do think he looks awfully like Zhu Yi Long sometimes and even more like Zhu Zi Xiao sometimes.

Can I just say that I love how Peter signs his name in traditional Chinese? I know it’s such a small detail but it’s the first thing I saw on his photos here. LOL.
This photoshoot is gorgeous. Instead of just having Peter and Crystal working together again, can we just have the whole team as is? But with a higher budget of course. Which I’m sure they’ll get considering how well-received GPG was.

Sheng Yilun looks so much better in modern garb than in period. He’s really sharp looking in these photoshoots and he poses really well 🙂 I love the shoes matching the suit haha
Zhang Tian Ai looked wonderful in Go Princess Go but I think she looks even better here. She looks really spunky and it’s awesome

Haha Sheng Yi Lun’s really good at posing probably partially cuz he was a professional model before GPG. I have to say, despite not having watched GPG (yet), Zhang Tian Ai is undoubtably stunning, always. I remember thinking, while she was lying on the mat trying to get in position to imitate the word (in the Happy Camp game), that I really wanted to touch her hair… Anyways. Hopefully anyone with eyes can see she’s beautiful and talented.
I kind of wish we got to see more of the GPG cast though since Happy Camp usually does a good job letting me get a feel for personalities, but here they had too little talking/banter/chat time to be able to tell much of anything…they had a really short segment, and they spent most of that playing games…non-talking games.
Plus in the Happy Camp ep, in the first half, they gave like 90% of the screen time to HXM and his mom. Honestly…they’re not even that interesting. It’s not that I don’t like HXM…I do like him most of the time. It’s just, we (the audience) already know him…he’s on variety shows quite often. Esp with Greatest Love now. HXM’s basically very unchanging in variety shows, so if we want more of him, we can just watch previous eps. Like…he’s chill and everything, but he’s not particularly dynamic, witty, or interesting, where he interesting and funny everytime he’s on screen…Like. they bring up the same jokes/characteristics all the time — hardworking, little time for mom, really generous with money, doesn’t take care of himself…etc. Like Hu Ge, Wang Kai, Jin Dong, even Chen Qiao En and Li Yi Feng, while the latter two are arguable not great or consistent actors/actresses, they’re all interesting, witty, dynamic people that are just really funny and different in all their variety/reality show appearances and eps. HXM is sweet, but we really don’t need to see him take over the screen and squish people like HDJ, Zhou Shi Ming, and Yang Wei out. People like Han Dong Jun (yeah I have a bias) or the GPG cast are relatively unknown in the variety, and we want to see him. Like isn’t that partially what Happy Camp does? Introduce us to new faces from popular dramas so we can get to know them better?!
that really upset me. I loyally finished the ep to see all the bits of Han Dong Jun and GPG, but it really was kind of a disappointing ep.

Nah, not at all. Happy Camp has a bad reputation in China for how much screen time they give to their guests tbh so I’m not even surprised that GPG cast only got 20 minutes. Hunan TV plays favorites like no other, I tell you.
Remember when Hu Ge was on Happy Camp with Jin Dong and Wang Kai? Nobody understood why it was only Hu Ge while the other bloody guests weren’t even from The Disguiser although promoting the drama was supposed to be the main point of the episode. Fans even did a cut of Jin Dong and Wang Kai’s appearance in that episode and it was only like 8 minutes. After JD and WK became popular, Hunan invited them to be on TTXS which is imo a better show than HC. But yeah, the show is very apparent when it comes to their favorite guests.

Gorgeous photoshoots! I’m annoyed at HC using the cast of GPG as a promotional tactic only for them to appear in the last 20 minutes of the whole episode. Guo Jun Chen is so adorable! He seems to be the most outspoken and open among the cast in variety shows. I love the cute friendship he has with Alan Yu!

I was annoyed too! I was skimming through the video and literally snapped when they only had 25 minutes! I think the cut out parts will get aired as a special down the road.
